The duck was pulled by the roof the same as the feathers that were moving around until a few seconds ago.
"Yeah, it worked!"
I don't know why I'm making a victory pose but at least I trapped it, there are still things that I don't know how they work, controlling something that you can't see makes it difficult sometimes.
The way I understand it is that I used my ability to make an electric current flow inside the building creating a bigger electromagnetic field. I remember Spencer talking about magnetic monopoles and how it was the discovery of the century, but at the time I didn't pay any attention to it, I just remember it because I thought that "monopole" was a fun word… the books that I had read so far didn't include them so I have no idea how it works and it was impossible to apply that concept, for now, I should ask Spence in the future.
I had to use my ability to redirect the electromagnetic field, utilizing superimposing layers of electromagnetic fields(EMF from now on) I can make that instead of the standard magnet that has a positive side and a negative side. I curved them using the inner structures of the building so both, the positive and negatives poles could face the same direction. An area of the roof is pulling down the duck and some feathers while the outer area where I'm moving is pushing them out so I can keep sliding a couple centimeters above the ground as always.
Now how do I kill it…
I thought about shooting at it, but I recalled that there are too many forces right now that would interfere with my bullet. I slide a little forward as I got another idea… the duck itself is made of metal.
I took off my shoes as I would be glued to the floor if I didn't and left the gun floating next to them as I got closer to the duck
*QUACK!!!*
"Hey don't talk to me like that!! You started this…"
The duck looked back at me as if pondering my words.
*QUACK!*
"your Alpha didn't teach you manners? You can't talk to me like that if you want me to let you go?
I have no idea what is he telling me, but I think it something like "Hey,! Let me go B!tch!!" or something like that.
Whatever I was a little dizzy already and I am making up a conversation, so I need to finish him off soon before I go crazy. First I started to slowly let go the EMF, it was too strong right now, and it doesn't need to be to keep the duck there.
I started to feel a little better, and the duck still couldn't move. That's good…
Now I add different EMF to the duck as I let go the building …
That reason to create the magnet in the first place was to catch the duck when it was outside my range now that I have it at my mercy I can let the building go and directly control the duck. The duck slowly started to leave the floor and float in front of me…
*Crack*
*QUACK!!**QUACK!!*
"You should have thought about it before calling me that!!"
Ok faking the conversation is funnier than I thought it would be… I'm even starting to feel sorry about creating a whole background story for the duck in which he joined the war to protect his family when he fell for the Alpha's manipulations who told them that the humans started the war and wanted them to be livestock again.
A breaking sound came from the duck as the wing collapsed into itself, I augmented the intensity of the EMF, and the cracking sound continued, the second wing did the same, and slowly the duck was being compressed forming a metallic ball.
The sound ended, and the metal ball fell heavily on the floor.
*sigh*
I'm not creating backstories anymore… I feel awful about leaving those little ducks orphans.
I looked around as I put back my shoes again and noticed the feathers laying around… they looked really cool I wonder if I can do something like that… I subconsciously created an EMF to attract them and made the rotate around me.
Without thinking too much, I stopped it and pick all the feathers I could found before going back to the rooms to continue my job as a sniper.
…
I swear!!! that was the plan!! but I looked too cool with the feathers dancing around me to stay caged in that place!!
I went down and decided that it was better to support the right flank, as long as I don't get into the area where the grass starts, I can keep my mobility and help them hold back the beasts. I can do a lot more in that place than as a sniper…
______________________________________________________
As the situation in the left flank was going fine and without any problems, I noticed that the center area of our formation was having problems to contain the beast despite Blake's presence, I moved back to the center and left G behind with the situation under control.
The main reason I had to leave was that the duck-bomb was moving in that direction. The duck wasn't really dangerous if you know of his power, but if you don't know and you hit it… then there would be problems, so I had to tell people to be careful and not hit it by mistake.
As I got in the center formation, I noticed what was wrong… the right flank was mostly covered by rats, which meant that the original right flank was almost annihilated. I think that the Nightmare might have something to do with that.
The rats were slowly recovering the lost terrain, but suddenly the whole place trembled, some people fell to the floor, and even I had some troubles keeping my balance.
The cow just stepped forward. It was looking to an area a little farther than our right flank.
*MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!*
I knew that the Alphas was powerful…
But what I saw was unexpected.
The cow didn't care if the objective of the attack were friends or foes, she treated all of the same.
A massive suction force came from the cow's mouth, and everything on that direction was affected by it… at first, just some little rats, followed by the beast of its own side and finally the soil, a part of the street and even a complete building where sucked in by the cow.
The terrified faces could be seen in every person that saw what just happened… it didn't take much time for some of them to run away, and I don't blame them… how do you fight against that?
The cow stood there as if nothing had happened and started to chew. The sun was beginning to hide, it has been a long fight, and I had a couple hours left that I need to survive to complete a mission, but seeing this…
I can't go back now, it would make all this meaningless…
The cow didn't use the ability again, and the battle resumed with the relentless attack of the beast's renewed spirit, it could be because they saw their leader finally make his move or they wanted to finish fast to not be the next ones on the list… it might be because of the way they attacked but it felt like the number of beasts that we were fighting now were twice as much as before.
This also gave me another chance to use the duck-bomb on our advantage.
The battle continued like this for a while but suddenly the cow stopped chewing and looked around once again, I just prayed for it to not look in this direction, and the cow suddenly focused on our right flank. My heart stopped when I understood what was about to happen… I should have prayed for the flanks too.
As before the cow opened her mouth and rats were the first ones that left the floor followed by beasts and this time people…
The whole line was almost empty… just a black haired girl was there with her shoes glued to the floor but from what we knew it was meaningless… the whole street was what was next.
The girl tried to hold, but it was too strong she turned a second our green eyes locked into each other… she was pulled by the cow's force, and just her shoes remained for a few seconds on the floor before the earth itself started to go towards the cow.
