(Hayley POV)
It worked!!!
I wasn't sure if it was going to work.
The last time I was in a fight all I could do was slow down and freeze regular beast, it also took me a while to do it, it was difficult to control and aim. Now my control was refined, and the freezing speed was a lot higher. I managed to do things like this before on dead beasts inside the warehouse, but I wasn't sure if it was going to work that well on living beings.
I tried to not smile, I noticed that everyone was looking at me. There was no fear in their eyes, it was more like respect I feel like this is the right place for me to be, but I can think about it later. Right now we have to keep advancing.
If these beasts are here, it that means that the refugees might also be under attack and they could have been surrounded.
As a signal, I moved my hand and pointed towards another beast.
This time I was going to do something different. The frost once again appeared, this time the attack was even more precise than before, I aimed to one of the frontal legs of the cow, the movement became slower and slower until that leg was completely frozen. The leg broke as it was no longer able to support the cow's weight. A scream came from the cow as it fell to the ground.
Next to me, Hope put a knee on the ground to get more stability as she aimed forward, on her arms was the weapon that Spencer got from the surprise box, an MRGR that looked more advanced than the others that I have seen before. Her first shoot was accompanied by flying rubble from around us that was under Leon's control. This was the start of our battle.
Blake stood there in the middle of the formation without moving, besides the regular hunting clothes, the only weapon on him were a couple of brass knuckles without any decorations. They didn't have extra blades nor pointy parts.
On the front, the shield bearers managed to hold back the attack from the beasts. After the first impact, the shield bearers started to push back the beasts. The second line of the vanguard was using spears and longswords to attack from between the shields. The rearguard focused on keep attacking with all we got.
Zak the other person that I knew was on the second line of the vanguard thrusting his spear if the beasts weren't dead after the first strike, then they were severely wounded.
The strength and resistance of the shield bearers were amazing, between the shield bearers, five of them were goons that came from the group from the south under Dante's orders. That cat never stops surprising me.
I focused on making the beast lose their fighting capacity, so most of my targets, fell screaming after they lost a limb, there were some that were slowed down or that I missed, but overall my job has been good.
The beasts that I defeated were killed as we were advancing. Usually, this was the job of a vanguard member with a spear.
Hope's aim was still lacking, but she managed to fire her MRGR with a good rhythm and thanks to the number of beasts she hit most of her shots. Half of them didn't hit the intended beast or the place she wanted, but at least there were no missed shots, and each shot was better placed than the one before. It was pretty good because from what I know, this was her first time using the weapon.
Blake has been advancing together with us the whole time without getting involved in the fight, his attitude made me curious, he is supposed to be the leader of the hunting teams on Green Shelter, but he has been just watching the battle… was he using a support ability, or he was really just watching the situation waiting for his moment?
Just as I thought that we had the upper hand, Blake's suddenly started to move forwards taking me by surprise.
He ran in the direction of one of the shield bearer in the left of the front line, he was resisting the attack of a goat, I didn't get what was wrong, but the goat suddenly grew to three-times her standard size taking the shield bearer by surprise.
He was pushed back breaking the formation, but before the beasts could take the chance, Blake appeared to cover that place throwing a punch to the head of the goat.
The goat didn't mind getting into a force competition with him. The moment of the impact, Blake's fist became surrounded by lightning, the goat tried to stop the attack and dodge, but it was already too late.
The impact resounded in the street, and the goat went away flying in the air. The skin was charred in the place of the impact, even after it fell back to the street and slid a couple of meters it was still shaking and spasming surrounded by lightning. Of course, the goat was already dead.
He covered the place a minute while the shield bearer recovered from the shock. After he came back to the formation, he went back to the same he was before. Looking the fight, waiting for when he was needed.
A sound ahead of us made me focus again, I'm not sure if it is my imagination, but I can hear battle sounds ahead of us… I think that we are getting closer.

G once again was in front of everyone as the cornerstone of our defensive formation.
My job was to reduce the pressure on him and the other people in the vanguard.
We lacked attack power, so I was trusting that the group coming from Green Shelter had people that could reduce the numbers of the beast faster.
This time thanks to me disrupting the charge from the E-Rank beasts, G managed to stop with the help of the hammer one of the bulls, the shinning in his arms became almost blinding for me as it concentrated most of his strength on them. I have no idea what the hammer was made of, but I could see that at least it had really high durability.
The second E-Rank beast the horse was stopped by two goons, the first goon got ran over by it. This made the horse reduce the speed and got in a fight with a second goon that managed to stop his movements, and it was being attacked by other people from the hunting teams. The goon that sustained visible wounds was on the floor but regenerating slowly. His aura was reduced a lot but thanks to the regeneration he was going to survive.
As the attack occurred at the same time I was able to deal with just one of them it was also a bull, and it seemed to be the strongest one. The horse had improved his legs, so he probably had improved agility or charge. I made him the victim of my slow if it wasn't for it would have probably been able to just run over the entire vanguard and the goon that barely survived would have been an instakill. From the bulls, the one that G stopped had the horns stronger than usual.
The third one was bigger than the others, but there were no signals of what was the enhance, so I had to be careful. I threw the tomahawk directly in between the eyes as it ran towards me. The tomahawk got stuck in between the eyes but the bull continued as if nothing had happened.
I rolled to the side and could feel the heat coming from the bull… does it have a heat-related power? No that wasn't it, he had an enhance type power. I changed my weapons, and after making two little wounds on my thumbs, I had the chakrams on my hands.
The tomahawk fell from the bull's forehead.
There was no signal of wounds or even a scar in there. Even thou I didn't manage to hurt or made anything to the bull, it was pissed off it made me the target of his attacks.
With a jump to reposition his head to point at me, it tried to impale me using the horns. In the meantime, other beasts started to attack me too. Forcing me to go into a defensive stance as I used Time Bubble and Accelerated senses. Even with the improvement of my defensive abilities, I prefer to not try how good they are.
'The reinforcements from Green Shelter are coming, they engaged the second group too.'
As I received Rose's message, I could also feel a familiar aura. I focused on my touch sense for a second and noticed the coldness that was slowly appeared ahead of us.
