Luckily for me, there was just one bullet left, he pulled the trigger multiple times but only the first one shot.
Whistle~ Click! Click!
He tried to shoot me multiple times to be sure that at least one bullet hit me, but he didn't expect that there was just one bullet left on the handgun.
If the bullet hit me out of luck, I'm done so I did my best to move to the side to dodge the shot, but even with my reaction time, I just was able to avoid it hitting my body. As explained before, I was slower than him, so even if I knew my body couldn't follow my movements. Also, I was on the floor so I couldn't move around quickly.
A piercing pain came from my left arm, I felt the bullet going through my arm, the shot went in and out, and I started to bleed.
The other guy after hearing the unexpected clicks that made him know the lack of bullets threw the handgun to the side.
I got up trying to ignore the pain and the blood. I felt restless, before getting wounded I already was at a disadvantage when fighting and could at most keep up with him, but now even if he was unarmed and I had the knife, previously I wasn't able to gain an advantage in battle.
My lack of fighting experience was my biggest weakness… but there was no way to solve it fast… wait.
'System, do you have combat styles or martial arts?'
I'm not sure how useful it would be, but it would at least get me on even ground with him. The last time I browsed the skills, I didn't see the more expensive ones, but right now with 155 system points I might be able to buy something that helps me in this situation.
[Yes, Martial Arts and Advanced Combat Styles]
Since I didn't have the time to browse carefully and select one I just left it to my luck.
'Recommend me one… look for the most suited for me'.
[Searching… Martial Arts selected]
[Krav Maga Lv. 1 Cost 250 system points]
[Krav Maga it's a military self-defense and fighting system derived from a combination of techniques sourced from boxing, wrestling, aikido, judo, karate, and other martial arts, along with realistic fight training…it suits the user and could compensate for the user's lack of fighting experience]
Stupid system… why look for something that I can't buy? I mean it seems impressive, but I don't have enough points!
I didn't even need to talk to the system for him to give me an answer.
[Use the discount ticket idiot].
…
…
I didn't know how to respond to the system, there were times that I'm pretty sure someone is talking to me, even if most of the time it looks like a typical AI. It was expensive, but the points are worthless if I die.
'Buy level 1 Krav Maga'.
The knowledge filled my mind. I'm not an expert in martial arts or combat, but after I got the knowledge of the methods and techniques of Krav Maga I was overwhelmed. It was incredibly versatile, Krav Maga took the best of other martial arts and joined them with its own techniques, creating an amazing fighting method. This was already amazing, but part of the basics of Krav Maga is the learning and experience that comes from battles, with every action Krav Maga was able to evolve and keep getting better.
All this was already amazing, but the most important was the reason for the system to pick this over other styles.
Krav Maga was extremely aggressive. Usually, it would be the best when you avoid a direct confrontation, but if I had no choice, it would teach to go and finish as fast as possible attacking the weak-points. All this had a direct synergy with my stealth, ambush, and vital point view.
It was the most fitting combat style that I could get, if I started the battle with this, it might have already been over, and I wouldn't have been wounded.
What would be some street fighting experience in front of one of the best military combat styles in the world?
Unfortunately, I got it late and with my left arm wounded it was still tricky, and if I learned something from this battle was not to be overconfident and not underestimate an enemy.
After he threw the handgun, he charged towards me to take advantage of my wound. I didn't have time to stop the bleeding on my arm, and I needed to take care of it fast, this means trying to finish the battle as quickly as possible.
I changed the knife in my hand to a reverse grip on my left hand, I was planning to take a little risk, but the battle must end here. He got close to me and kicked towards my wounded arm, instead of avoiding it, I went forward. Since I closed the distance faster than he expected, the amount of force behind his kick was meaningless.
I kept the guard of my left arm up while holding the knife. When I got close, he was focused on the knife. So he didn't notice my palm going toward his face, his leg was just returning to the position, so all he could do was lean back to get the damage to the minimum. This created the opportunity to kick his supporting leg.
I kicked two times directing my leg to the side of his knee, with his already uncomfortable position, he lost his balance and fall again, he tried to grab me to fall with him, but I avoided his attempt of catching me. Once on the floor I started a barrage of kicks aiming at his head, he protected his head in fetal position, the moment he lost sight of me, I changed my strategy and using the knife on my right hand I thrust it into his flank.
"AAARGH." His hands left the head, and rolled a little to apply pressure to the wound under his ribs, this was a reflex, but at that moment a powerful kick to the temple knocked him out. Before he noticed what happened, I stabbed his heart using the vital points view.

Only when I heard the notification, I was able to calm down. I fell backward and sat on the floor, I was shaking and breathing fast. Even after hearing the announcement I kept my eyes on the guy to be sure he doesn't attack again. When I started to calm down was when the pain on my arm surged, and due to the blood loss, I felt a little weak.
Rose came to my side and tried to hug to no avail while crying. If it was difficult for me, for her, it should have been a nightmare, seeing me in that state, avoiding dead without any way to help should be the most challenging thing that she has ever experienced.
'I'm sorry, I'm sorry.' Was all she said, and my heart broke when I saw her like this.
'Why are you apologizing? This was not your fault if anything I should be thanking you'. I said to her, she looked at me with her eyes red.
'Why? I interrupted your fight and almost got you killed!'
'I don't know how you did it, but you were the one that put the knife in my hand when he was choking me, you save my life there, don't think about anything else?'
I tried to clean one of her tears with my hand. She smiled and cleaned.
This seemed to calm her down a little, even though she interacted with the knife, she didn't look tired or weakened in any way.
'Rose I know you are shaken but before I tell you everything, can you help me look for a first aid kit?'
She saw my wound and opened her eyes, surprised by the amount of blood on my sleeve.
'Sure, right away.' She flew away fast to look for it. In the meantime, I was pressing the wound to stop the bleeding.
At my side Lucy was looking at my wound, I'm not sure if she understands what is happening, but she seemed worried, probably was affected by Rose mood.
'System add 3 points to Dex'
[Dex Improved by 3 points]
It took about 5 minutes for Rose to come back.
'There is one two houses away, I tried to bring it, but I couldn't.' she added the second part in a sad voice.
'Thank you.' I looked at the wall trying to think if it was possible for me to jump over it with just one arm.
I just moved on the street carefully. The was no one, and only the guards could be seen in the distance, I'm sure that they can't see me, but I will just leave this place fast.
After picking up the handgun from the floor and taking the shotgun from the bedroom, I left the house and moved fast to go into the house that she told me that there was a first aid.
