Chapter 33 - Bonds (III): Savior From A Blue World/ Blue Sun

UNKNOWN LOCATION

ONE AND A HALF YEARS AGO

ASHA LEONA YSMIR (COR)

I watched him work all night as he tried to find a solution for our current predicament. While he had always been publicly known to fight for vampires, no one had ever seen him associate with one. That was a mask, a farce he had to keep so that the humans and other races of the first sun won't turn against him. After all, he was a public figure, and much of his families wealth came from the faith of the common people who work under them. A sullied reputation would bring all this crashing down.

He did not have to tell me, because I was smartphone enough to know that as a noble, image was everything for him. The ability to continue this fight, rested solely on the reputation his family had built for endless millennial. If he looses it, then he's lost the one edge he has in saving us all. And all this went downhill the moment he married me.

It had been a spur of the moment decision, made under the influence of our bodies entwined together as sweet glistened off our skin. Our breaths labored and the shine of satisfaction and pleasure within the depths of our eyes. And then he looked at me and said

"Marry me!"

I laughed it off, this was the price I had to pay for sleeping with someone younger than me. I gave him the wrong idea, at least I think I did. But he knew me, he challenged me, pushed me in ways I couldn't understand. We were married and bonded the next morning under the gaze of our friends, our family, and the whole damn world was watching.

I could not help but winder if he regretted making that decision, just lie every other person who has loved me, I was destined to bring chaos into his life. And I did so, on the very day I told him how much I loved him. He's been fighting ever since.

I walked towards him and wrapped my hands around his neck, he pretended to be startled, but I knew he was already aware of my presence from our bond. This was a game we played a lot, there was no meaning to it, it was just an activity between two people who loved each other. Love, what a concept, even when you believe it's not going to hold sway over you anymore, it just suddenly creeps up and ensnares you again.

And each time it does, it is stronger, tighter, and deeper than the last. Because with each subsequent mistakes you realize your faults and you try to be better, you invest more because of how badly you want it work. So you avoid your mistakes, and become perceptive of new ones, and you try to love as hard as possible for as long as you can. But how can you avoid mistakes, when the universe just wants you to be unhappy.

"You shouldn't worry to much, I'll fix this. No one is going to tear us apart, not now and not ever."

His voice was still tinged with the vigor of youth, but he still sounded wise and mature beyond his age. To be honest I sometimes think he's an old man, in the body of a young one. And he says the strangest things, words and analogies no one could ever make sense of. But he was taking care of me, it made me uncomfortable, after all I was older. But I couldn't help it, I wanted to surrender myself to him, every bit of my soul and heart, I wanted him to own. I loved him, too much.

I could not answer him when he told me to worry, because I knew I couldn't stop worrying. This was bigger than the two of us, it was not just our future that was at stake here. It was more. I pulled him up from his seat amidst cracks and popping sounds as his tired bones shifted back into their proper alignment. I led him to the bed, and let him fall asleep to the sound of my beating hearts to his ears. My only wish, was that he could hear the third heart beat within my womb. Because then he would know, he was going to be a father...

It was the night before the day, I can't believe he was doing this. It was reckless plan, but the nobles were plotting against him. They we're plotting against all of us. We had been summoned by the court, he was tried for breaking a tenet in the nobles creed of obsolete and archaic rules. The normal sentence was five years of incarceration as a transformed goblin in the magma mines of a lava planet. Somewhere off world and far away. The end game was that he would miss the date of his inheritance check. Giving the bastards on that council a chance the to coble up the wealth his family had built over the long histories of Shearath.

But those tenets also had a rule that a noble had five chances to change the type of sentence they were given. They still had to serve punishment, but they could make their lives easier. And in each of those chances they could only change two clauses. His family over the years had used the four chances they had, leaving one.

This was a backdoor for the nobles to escape through the net they had sprung for themselves many years ago. They were arrogant, and believed themselves to be above punishment of any kind. It worked well, it worked really well.

The idiot chose to be sent to the pit...….as newly turned vampire. It was a mistake, he didn't know how much of a hell that place was. It's been eighteen years, almost two decades since I was exiled. There was no way that place had changed, and I was not letting him get away. But I still couldn't tell him, he deserved to know but I couldn't tell him. Not with everything he had going on. I couldn't tell him I was pregnant, of course it takes a couple of years for a vampire child to grow in their mothers womb, due to the fact that they were not completely alive. At most five years, and the least was three. But what was worse, was that I couldn't tell him, our enemies found out, and they had gotten to me. They're going to use me to break him, to destroy my love, my husband. And I couldn't do anything about it, our child's future depended on it.

PRESENT DAY

THE PIT

Have you ever had that feeling of sudden familiarity, a feeling that you knew someone but you just couldn't place their face. And then all of a sudden you recall something, not everything, but something. Well, that's how it was for me when I say the woman called Asha. Red hair, very, very red, red hair sat upon her had like a crown of blood. Her pale skin and glowing blue eye's shook me to very depths of my soul as a name sprang forth to my lips without me even knowing it.

"Blue Sun!"

She looked like someone had hit her in the gut with a hammer. She choked in shock as the blue veins around her eyes receded. Then she ran straight for me and jumped into my arms. Shock was the least of the things I was feeling right now, as everything about the woman was familiar, intimately. I could tell what she smelled like, she smelled like blood dipped in rose with a certain kind of burnt smell you couldn't help but like. I could tell what she tasted like, she tasted like iron marinated in strawberry juice and with a salty tang I just couldn't get out of the back of my tongue. The shape of her body against mine, the way my arms wrapped around her waist was oh so familiar, it felt right. Like it was meant to be there. The only thing different was that bump on her stomach, but I had heard enough to know that it belonged to Hero Kael. No!...…..the child belonged to me.

As I held her, I could feel beyond just what my hands and body was touching. I could feel her soul, it was powerful, blazing, and it was blue, dark blue, just like mine with no difference. I could feel a stirring within me, my heart, my mind, and my soul wanted nothing more than for her hand to remain wrapped around my neck. But! I could also feel Xaseah, feel her pain, and her fear. And the relief she felt at my presence. And I knew Asha could feel her too, there was nothing to hide.

A then Asha whispered into my ears,

"My savior from a blue world. I'm sorry, I failed you, I failed our family, I failed our child."

And then everything went dark.

JUST BEFORE THE SENTENCE

LORD KAEL COR

It felt exciting holding her like this as the sun came up from behind the horizon. On her insistence, this entire floor had been turned into one huge room. And her reason was that she wanted to see the sun fall, just as much as she wanted to see it rise. St the time it was frustrating because she kept asking for the strangest of things. But if I could, I would give her the world.

But deep in my heart, I felt something was wrong, I could feel it from the bond we shared, like an ominous warning of troubles to come. She was keeping something from me, and even though I had no idea what, it made me really worried. I was her husband, keeping secrets were not healthy for a marriage. But I was not one to talk, I had big secrets of my own.

"Blue Sun I have something to tell you." I said to her in a solemn tone.

"I don't want to hear it. Let's just enjoy this moment, make it last. Besides it's my last attempt to convince you to stop calling me blue sun." she chided in irritation.

She was making a joke, rare, but still, she was trying to make the entire situation as light as possible. After all, after tomorrow we might not be seeing each other for a very long time. I shuddered to think of all that time, alone in the darkness without my sun to light the way. It seemed like the worst torture imaginable. But I was being serious here, she had to know.

"Asha, I had another life before this one. I was once a different person, from a very different planet."

"What do you mean?" She asked in surprise.

"I mean I remember my old life, my old world, my first family, my first love. The mistakes I made, and the victories I obtained. A life I had, before I was born on Shearath as Kael of the house of Cor."

She turned to look at me, checking to see if I was still sane or not.

"You're serious!"

"Of course I am. That's why I felt so different and weird at times, and say things and words you don't

recognize and are completely unfamiliar with. I had another life before this, one, another world."

"Oh, well I don't really care. You can be from one of the nine hell realms, and I would still love you."

"So you believe me?" I asked in surprise.

"Of course I do, you don't have any reason to lie to me do you?"

I shook my head In answer. Then she turned and kissed me hard enough, that I was scared of letting go. It went on, and on. It was a kiss with no end, with no boundaries as we both tried to convey all of our emotions into the lips and mouth of the other. But like all good things it came to an end, as she turned and face this blue tinted Ionite lined void glass. Then she asked me,

" what was your old world like?"

"Well it was small, and blue. Very blue."

"So you're my savior from a blue world. We need to ban that color."

"Hahaha anything you want? Blue sun."

"You!....I'll let you call me that, but that doesn't mean I like it or anything. Just promise me one thing."

"What?" I asked

"No matter what happens, no matter who stands in your way. Keep fighting."

"Don't worry my love...I will go against the Gods if I have to. And do you know why?"

"Why?"

"Because I love you."
