Thud. Allan lifted his eyes from the computer screen to the image of an exhausted man who sprawled on the long couch. Judging from his long grunt, it was easy to tell that he was being harmed by things that he had started himself. This was so normal for Howard that Allan only ignored him.
Howard then opened his eyes and moved his head to find the clock in the room. It was still five minutes to nine, and yet he was already knackered. Really? He only talked to Montana for minutes, but he was already drained. He then moved to face Allan who was working already nonetheless.
"Allan… the new accounting head is a headache… he kept on threatening me… he said he could defund my projects and reject my proposals..." Howard grunted more inhumanly, like a brook gurgling with water. He then wiped his face with his hand. "Why did you put him in charge…? Am I inefficient?"
