Chapter 15 - Arrival of the Upperclassmen (3)

"This matter isn't over. I'll be speaking to the headmaster about this."

Art's words carried a frosty chill.

Soran looked on worriedly. He too realized that someone else must be behind the incident for a student to so brazenly harm another.

"Art... Just don't get carried away."

Art smiled at the concern evident in Soran's voice.

"Don't worry. Anyway, I'm going to bring him to the medical office and then go to the meeting with the headmaster. I'll see you later tonight."

Somehow the smirk on Art's face as he said that only caused Soran to become even more worried, although his mind did immediately focus on the potential ambiguity of that last part afterwards. Sighing, Soran could only look on worriedly as Art accompanied the injured student towards the medical office, slightly jealous of the attention Art was giving him.

"As you heard, I'm Art. What's your name?" Art asked with a gentle smile.

"Vince. Thank you... for stopping that second year and for healing my arm." Vince blushed as he answered.

"Don't mention it. I'm sure you would've done the same in my place."

Even Art cringed internally at the cheesiness of his words, but they did seem to cheer up Vince a little. Although his complexion was rather pale due to the pain of his broken arm, Vince was in truth a rather adorable young man. He seemed to be younger than the rest of the students, and his soft brown hair and eyes, with his smooth cheeks and dainty nose gave him a cute younger brother kind of feel. He seemed to be the shy type, but his previous reaction to the second year showed him to have a fiery temper.

Art couldn't help but smile at the boy.

Soran, who was still watching the two leave, scowled deeply.

The medical center was located near the main training grounds and arenas. It was, like most of Silver Dragon Academy, a pristine white marble building that reached 3 floors in height, as well as having a basement where certain medicines were kept. The first floor was for the reception and urgent care patients, the second for long term stay, recovery, or non-urgent care, and the third was for the head nurse's office as well as research facilities.

Attached to the side was a large greenhouse which was split into two portions, one for medicinal herbs and the other for rare and exotic plants and flowers.

The head nurse was another famous character of Silver Dragon Academy. She normally had almost zero combat capabilities, but as soon as she saw an injured student, she would summon hundreds of water elementals to protect them. She was known as having incredible defensive prowess once in this state, and self-named her technique 'Endless Oceanic Elemental Guard for the Protection and Wellbeing of the Students,' although most simply called it 'Oceanic Guard.'

The head nurse, Meryll, like most other top figures of Silver Dragon Academy, suffered from a disorder. Hers was a compulsive long name disorder, where each name would consist of almost as many words as elementals she could summon at once. Even the simplest cold was known to her as the 'Fast-spreading incredibly contagious virus that causes coughing and slight discomfort amongst students.' In addition to this, she was known to possess a rather course temper, although nowhere near the level of the old kitchen witch. Fortunately, aside from that, she was rather normal.

Walking into the infirmary, it just so happened that Meryll was talking to the attendant in the reception hall. Turning to see who had walked in, Meryll's sharp eyes immediately noticed the state of Vince's arm.

Mumbling to herself about satisfactory initial treatment, or first response to a medical situation of urgency as she called it, Meryll simply bustled over and pulled the two towards the stairs, heading towards a standard treatment room.

Each room was equipped with an advanced 3D holographic display system that would scan the patient and display their body in full to the doctor, who could then examine the projection as they wished, as well as a bed and some chairs for visitors.

Meryll had Vince sit down on the bed directly, surrounding his arm with water elements through which she could sense the state of his bones. A frown wrinkling her brow, Meryll simply moved the halo of water around on Vince's arm.

Art stood there watching, unsure of what to do.

"Hmmm... This won't be easy. Whoever did this to his arm fully intended to cripple it. Fortunately someone was there to perform rather excellent immediate treatment if I do say so myself. Thanks to that, it should be possible to heal your arm completely. You, brat, yes you, go tell the receptionist to send Warren and Laiqa to room 3. I'll need their help for this. No need for you to stay after. I'll be keeping him here for a while."

Never did she imagine that someone as young as Art could possibly be the one to have started healing Vince's arm.

Shrugging, Art left the room, gently nodding in response to Vince's 'Thank you.'

Heading back down to the reception hall, Art informed the attendant of Meryll's orders, who immediately paged the other doctors by phone. Politely nodding goodbye, Art left the building and began heading towards the administration office. It was almost time for the meeting between the year representatives and the headmaster, and Art was eager to deal with Flint and that second year.
