As Yenma opened the book and read the first page: "My name is Tao Tianhong, I spent a lot of effort in writing this-", Yenma immediately flipped towards the next page.
The next page pretty much mentioned the previous stuff which was already told by Senior Luang.
After flipping a few pages, the true content of the book finally began:
"Zu Qi is like the air which is all around us. Just like how we breathe in air, we breathe the Zu Qi within it. To sense Zu Qi one must first meditate and focus on the breath that they take in…"
The concept for the sensing of Zu Qi was explained in simple and easy terms and Yenma had soon gotten the gist of it.
But he had also remembered Senior Luang's words which clearly cautioned him to use his own comprehension for sensing Zu Qi while the book in his hands was only meant for reference.
Yenma thought that with the book as a reference, he might soon be able to sense Zu Qi but it was only later that he realized how wrong he was.
It had already been a few days since and Yenma still couldn't sense even a tiny bit of Zu Qi.
But Yenma wasn't disappointed or depressed. Instead he was as thrilled as ever when it came to cultivation and tried his best to sense the Zu Qi around him.
On one fine day, Yenma stood before a small lake that was somewhat near to Senior Luang's cottage.
Although Yenma had tried hard in the past few days, he had shown no progress and couldn't yet sense the Zu Qi around him.
Using the book as a reference, Yenma did indeed grasp a few concepts behind if but he, for some reason, couldn't cross through that one last hurdle that kept on stopping him from sensing Zu Qi.
Whenever Yenma had too much going on in his mind, he would come to the lakeside and enjoy the scenery there.
Whenever Yenma looked at the calm beautiful lake, he felt his mind at peace.
Today while Yenma was calmly looking at the ripples in the lake and listening to the chirping of the birds, he noticed the skies darkened and thundered.
.
In few moments it started to rain heavily and Yenma had to take shelter under a tree.
As Yenma looked at the rain, he saw how the water drops fell into the lake and became one with it.
As Yenma watched this scene happen, he fell into an unknown state of comprehension and kept murmuring, "...the lake..the water drops..are in fact from the same source.. even if their shape and quantity is different.. their inherent property is still the same…"
.
.
.
Yenma's miraculous state of comprehension lasted for hours even after the rain had long ended.
Yenma's eyes which were closed at some unknown point in time during his comprehension, suddenly opened.
His lustrous jade-black eyes reflected some sort of knowledge which could not be sought after.
Yenma spoke to himself as looked at towards the lake, "Why were the demonic beasts able to cultivate but not the humans?"
"Because they had the same source! Zu Qi or the Spiritual Qi of heaven and earth had led to the creation of these life forms known as demonic beasts…"
"Humans had no way of naturally cultivating…so they had to mimic a path that would enable them to access the source known as Zu Qi!"
"The path of cultivation for humans has undergone refinement and improvements for a million of years… It could be said that the sacrifices of the ancestors has enabled their younger generations to walk down upon the true path of cultivation."
"Zu Qi is in fact no different than a source energy that is present ubiquitously all around the world."
"To sense Zu Qi...is no different that trying to tap into this source energy..", Yenma smirked as his hands clenched tight. This was because the way he now saw the world was different from before.
.
He could now clearly feel an additional source of energy/ Qi present all around him!
'This must be how someone who can sense Zu Qi sees the world...truly mystical.'
.
Yenma's thoughts were interrupted as a monotonous voice rang in his head.
