Some think of being a chuunibyou a disease. But for some, it's an adventure! A trip to the world of imagination, in which anything can happen!
Daniel always knew that he was special. After all, his mother had always told him so. And his mother is always right.
His birth had been broadcast all over the galaxy, with a giant ray of light shooting down from the sun and revealing his position to all life on other planets. This event had caused his mother to have to flee their 5-storey mansion in the city and hide out in this little cottage in the tiny town of Treeville.
His mother had never directly told this to him, but Daniel had figured it out through his visions which came to him while he was asleep.
The danger had not decreased now that they were hiding in this desolate town. In fact, his school was swarming with spies from other planets, trying to find him and use his powers for evil. But he wouldn't let them. So, every lunchtime, he sat by himself, eating the peanut butter and jelly sandwich his mother had made for him that morning before work.
Today, his school had organised as a supposedly fun field trip to the zoo. But Daniel knew that this was actually a conspiracy created by the Pastanati, the alien government chasing down him and his mother to gain his galaxy-defying powers.
He had told his best, and only, friend, Alien X about this conspiracy. Alien X was an alien lifeform from the undiscovered planet of Warunra, who had also been fleeing from Pastanati and was disguised as a common tabby cat.
The 'meows' of Alien X were actually a code only known to a few select in the entire galaxy, one of which was Daniel. Roughly translated, his friend had given him a warning, "You'd better watch out for those aliens, man. They got it out for you. Don't you dare drag me into this mess or I'll kill you faster than the Pastanati can blink!"
Daniel was touched. Alien X was really the only one that looked out for him in this world. Besides his mother of course.
Daniel kept this warning in mind as he traversed into the looming danger that was the zoo. The first sign of the Pastanati he saw was the suspicious activity of the lions. 'Aha!' He thought. 'Lions aren't supposed to be asleep, they are supposed to be out hunting wild deer and other animals! These lions are actually robots made to be indiscernible to the human eye. They have cameras hidden in the mane, and missile weapons kept where the organs are supposed to be, ready to fire at me on command!'
Daniel quickly left the viewing glass for the lion's enclosure and went to find his teacher. "Mr Ettetude, I don't feel so well… May I be excused from the zoo to go see a doctor?"
Daniel watched his teacher's expression closely, and as expected, Mr Ettetude revealed an expression of annoyance! Daniel had always known that his teacher had been a high-ranking member of the Pastanati and had been wanting to use this excursion as a chance to get rid of Daniel once and for all!
After all, nobody but an enemy could have given him so much 'homework'. The homework had just been his teacher's way of inflicting torture onto Daniel. But he would not succumb to the evil nature of Mr Ettetude, no matter how torture was inflicted upon him.
"Fine, Daniel. I hope to see your doctor's note on my table by tomorrow morning before homeroom starts."
Daniel smirked as he left the zoo. Once again, he had successfully foiled the grand master plan of the Pastanati. He couldn't wait to tell his friend all about his adventures today!
