Chapter 48 - Good News

20XX, August 19, Monday; Appartment Complex near university, my room

I was busy the whole day with two good news though the other was not so good. The good thing about school was that even though the rich guys tried to hide or delay some juicy gossip, someone will still be able to hear something which will then spread around campus.

That was how I knew about Brad's accident and eventual death just this morning. Well, my fervent wish that he fall of a cliff during the race didn't come true.

What happened was, when he was already about to win, neck and neck with another driver, he sped up. The other also sped up but Brad lost control of his car. He tried to slow down to avoid crashing to the other car but of course that didn't happen with what I did to his car.

I'm feeling guilty that the other driver got hurt too but at least what happened to Brad was worse. After hitting the other car, his car spun a lot of times, according to another driver behind them, and eventually crashed hard on the mountain side. What was even better was that a few debris fell on the car from the mountain top. I heard they had to dig a little to get Brad out.

Unfortunately, he was still breathing when the other racers who went to the scene saved him. An ambulance was called but he had multiple concussions which resulted to his death.

The not so good news was about Stephen. He's dead. That should have been a good news but I said it was not so since I didn't get to kill the bastard myself. He actually committed suicide. And also last night.

From the talk I heard, he was still living in his family's house but his parents were not usually at home. He had his own studio there, separate from the main house with big windows leading to a garden and then to the house's main gate. When he wants to be alone as he paints, he only interacts with the servants for his food and drinks. Though that was also minimal since his studio has another room set as his kitchen too.

Since last month, Stephen stayed on his studio, not going out to meet anybody. Brad also told me about this but he thought it was just a phase when he had his inspiration to paint.

Well, the rumors said that last night, a servant was assigned to deliver Stephen's dinner so she entered the studio as usual but didn't see the young master. The room was dark except for a dimly lit table lamp so she thought he was resting therefore, she moved to exit the room. Before she could slowly close the door, a car's light from outside illuminated the room. That was when she saw a figure hanging in front of the windows, saying still despite the light breeze outside.

She still didn't open the lights but used the minimal light coming from the table lamp and moved to check the shadow. Not wanting to wake the young master, maybe. She didn't remember the place having a curtain or sculpture there. As she got near, another car passed by and she finally saw that the figure was in a shape of a human. She moved her gaze up, frowning with the familiar clothing it was wearing.

The scream that followed alerted the other servants and neighbors. The chaos after that was uncontrollable so the news spread around campus too.

This morning, most of the students, even the faculty, were talking about the deaths. My classes was getting annoying with all the whispering. I guess nobody could imagine these two friends dying on the same night. Even I wouldn't think of it. My plan was to take them down one by one.

Oh, well, that's that. I'm just mad that he already killed himself. But at least, it's one scheme less than what I planned.
