It was unmistakable, I launched the same green spell I've seen Paul use several times, instantly turning away refusing to see the aftermath of what I had done.
"Emilia?! are you okay?! what the hell just happened?!" Morain questioned, I could feel her flapping around me trying to get my attention.
"I... I... I... I... don't know, I swear all I wanted to do was scare him!" I struggled to answer, my mind going crazy on how this could have happened, "I swear I didn't mean to kill him, I don't even know how I cast that spell, I swear!" I carried on explaining as tears began to fill my eyes.
"It's okay!" You didn't hit him, you barely just missed." Morain explained making me look at her as a saviour of my humanity wishing she was telling the truth/
"Yeah you might have scared him to death, but you didn't kill him," Evrene added.
I quickly turned around praying to God that I actually missed him. I let out a sigh of relief noticing a circle of vegetation that has turned to ash with my enemy unconscious and still trapped.
I gasped in absolute shock and horror as I noticed something that was probably just as worse, "Evrene?! are you okay?!" I ran to her to hold her checking the wound I made in her.
"I'm okay, just a little hurt." She answered a small piece of her corner was turned to ash by my spell.
"Are... you gonna be okay?" I questioned again unsure if it was fatal or not.
"I'll be alright, maybe once we meet Sir Polaris or Paul they can mend me." She flapped but I could tell straight away the small wound I caused already affected her ability to fly properly. "We have more important matters to deal with first." She flapped.
I quickly turned to see what happened to the two big male students melee students earlier, to my surprise it looked like they passed out, somehow the spice was so potent enough that their eyes swelled up and their skin bright red from irritation like the spice was reacting with their skin from just contact, despite being unconscious they were still coughing occasionally.
"Well, let's get to work." I dreaded the idea as I went to both their bodies grabbing one of them by their arms and began dragging them one by one to their shadow travelling teammate. It was surprisingly easier than I expected to drag them both even though they were pretty big muscular young men.
"What can I do to make sure these guys don't escape?" I questioned as I went to pick up their weapons and piled them up in a nearby tree, I began to think that this was most likely a bad idea but at this point didn't want to waste too much time.
"Oh, uses these." Morain flapped with a spell that created thick metal shackles as well as a bag of powder.
"What's in the bag?" I questioned as I released my spell, and went to work pulling this guy out of the shadow, thankfully he wasn't as big and muscular as his other friends fullying expecting me to struggle.
"Sleeping powder, specially created from pixie dust, widely considered one of the most effective, a small whiff of this and he's gonna be gone for the days." She answered.
"Wow really?" I questioned looking into the bag but keeping my nostrils and mouth far away from it, "How do I apply it?" I questioned curiously looking at the rainbow-coloured powder that sparkled like glitter.
"Just sprinkle some under his nostrils will do I think." She answered.
"Okay," I nodded and began to sprinkle some under their nostrils after I fully shackled all three of them restraining both their arms and legs together.
"Are you sure this will be enough? Just a small sprinkle?" I questioned finding it unbelievable,
"Oh trust me, do you know why the reason why pixie sightings are so rare?"Morain questioned me.
"Hmm because they are rare?" I answer her a little unsure.
"Well the pixie dust they release naturally when flying, even just the whiff of a spec is enough to dull your senses and brain from perceiving them, now a small pinch would be enough to knock them out for days," She answered.
"Ohh okay" I answered but still doubting her a little, but I'm sure she knows more about this work than I do. "Is there anything you can do to help Evrene?" I questioned still looking at her bobbing up with more randomness in her election.
"Don't worry, we're sentient tomes but we are still magical so we do have a fair bit of durability in us, for example, a non-magical weapon is less durable than a magical sword." Evrene flapped.
"Okay," I nodded,
Quickly making my way back to the clearing, the fight was still fiercely raging, Daisy was up against a tower black figure with a straight wavy blade. Morgana and Helen were busy keeping a very weird-looking monster at bay with their huge animal transformations. Whereas Yuna was keeping up with what I would describe as a textbook demon, hulking green with two large wings and a pitchfork. While Jay, Grace and surprisingly another female student was dealing with the remnants of a few students, with what looked like Sir Polaris floating around frantically glowing brightly. So that makes Kohana and Tadaaki against four to six students according to Sir Polaris' prediction, but I couldn't hear any more sounds of fighting in the forest.
"Kohana and Tadaaki?" I called out to them.
"Apologies Miss Emilia, it took us longer than expected to find suitable material to restrain the students we subdued." They answered arriving a few seconds after my call.
"No, no you guys did well, are any of you hurt?" I questioned giving them a quick look.
"Nothing serious," They both answered.
"Good, okay here's the next plan. Be very careful of those Demons, they were students of Atlantis they will probably gonna be very strong, so first we need to subdue the remaining students then we can all focus on dealing with the three Demon students." I informed them.
"How do you know they were ex-students?" Tadaaki questioned.
"I'm not 100% sure, but their remnants of clothing do point to that conclusion," I answered.
"Okay." they both nodded.
"Evrene good enough to blast Demons?" I questioned her.
"Very good!" She flapped excitedly which threw her off balance making her sink almost hit the floor before bobbing back up.
"Morain do you have anything that can seal a Demon?" I questioned.
"Sadly, I do not, most of those things are normally kept under lock and key so I can't just grab them." She answered, "but I can get silver-based weapons if that helps." She offered.
"I think we're good Kohana and Tadaaki probably have Tengoku Swords so I think they are fine as well," I replied to her.
"Okay forget our old plan, Kohana and Tadaaki I need you both to help my friends on the Demons, the two that aren't in combat with the girl with the horns," I instructed them noticing that they were fighting defensively, maybe their opponents are too strong and just trying to survive till the others are done with tier opponents.
"We will try our hardest Miss Emilia, and is the girl with horns your friend as well?" They questioned sounding a little hesitant.
"Yes, her name is Daisy, I'll explain her appearance later," I answered them not wanting to delay ourselves more.
"Okay, then Evrene, Morain and I will hopefully deal with the other one," I informed them, "and hopefully the others won't need more help on the remaining students.
"How many friends do you have down there?" Kohana questioned.
"Seven of them," I answered.
"Okay, I think we know who they are." Kohana and Tadaaki nodded, "On your command." they nodded to me.
"Alright let's go!" I nodded and began making to my friends, right off the bat launching a fire ray right at the black Demon making him lose focus on Daisy for just a split second.
Daisy using the opening I bought her to land a massive swing into its abdomen making a crackling bolt of divine lightning, forcing the creature to stumble back a few paces, "Emilia! I knew it was you!" Daisy greeted me with a giant smile as I arrived flanking the Demon keeping my range. It look unphased by her blow, standing up tall and straight, but I could see a small hairline crack in its black stone-like skin. All the three Demon students looked different from each other, I guess they've submitted themselves to a different Demon Lord. Daisy and I were engaged with a female student that still retained most of her human features, she was 7ft tall with dark black skin that reflected light like it was some sort of polished stone with solid pale white long flowing hair, she was extremely muscular, not in a huge way, but her body was still slim and very feminine but each and every muscle on her arms, torso and legs were extremely pronounced and defined. Her eyes were no longer human, they both glowed solid with the cloud of green Emeralds, with no look of humanity or soul left behind. She seemed no longer human, the way she stood, her presence the way she looked at Daisy and me like we were nothing and all she wanted was to cause pain hurt and death, wielding nothing but a very long sword whose blade was made in the shape of waves. "Emilia be careful, this one is very good with the sword, and she can also use spells," Daisy warned me as I noticed she was bleeding through cuts in her amour but luckily not previously.
Morgana, Helen and Kohana were engaged in an utterly mutated student or two, so much so, that if it didn't have remnants of clothing I wouldn't have known it was previously a human or two, Its body was now fully converted into a mess of different animals fused into one being standing at well over 7ft tall easily towering the Demon Daisy and I were up against, it now had two ape heads with fierce teeth, it's legs were long and reptilian-like something I'd expect a raptor to have, it looked big and powerful with curled claws that could render flesh from bone. Its torso resembled that of an ape, huge and muscular and both its arms now resembled powerful lashing tendrils, also spouting a weird barbed tail that look strong enough to impale, rip or smash us to death.
The last is what I would describe as a textbook Demon, it was huge and bulky with sickly green leathery skin, two large wings holding a serrated pitchfork, Yuna looked almost unscathed if it wasn't for exacerbated breathing and bloodied knuckles. After getting a better perspective of what we were up against, I quickly pulled out my flare, ripping the cap off I slammed it into the ground making it shoot high up into the sky with a bright blue light signalling for Paul. Almost instantly a thunder bold struck Atlantis, and every few seconds another bolt struck a little closer to us.
