"Okay team, we're gonna start looking for my friends, does anyone have ways to locate people?" I questioned.
"I can summon a Dog to track their scent." Morain offered.
"We can try and search for them." Kohana and Tadaaki offered.
"I can sense good and evil but it's not very good at singling out people." Sir Polaris offered.
"Hmm I think Daisy is the only Paladin of Serra in Atlantis, do you think there is a way you can locate her? being a paladin yourself," I questioned curiously.
"Oh, then Miss Emilia this would be very easy then, Paladins have a very unique aura to them, being a follower of Gods, we should have a sense of very powerful good and justice." He explained.
"Please may you locate her for me?" I requested.
"With pleasure." He flapped and opened, flipping through his own pages, stopping at a certain page and began to manifest a golden yellow hue around him.
"Could you locate her?" I questioned giving him little time to even concentrate.
"Yes Miss Emilia, I defiantly feel her aura, it's truly very strong, judging by the intensity I'm afraid she may already be engaged in combat." He answered.
"Damnit, how far are they?" I questioned as I began to pick up my pace.
"By my estimates Miss Emilia, even if we were to move at twice our speed we would still be ten minutes out." He answered.
"Crap," I instinctively cursed, 'Judging by the enemies we faced earlier they wouldn't even last three minutes let alone ten, and even if we were able to sprint for a straight ten minutes we would all be too exhausted to even do anything.'
"We can move quicker and get there faster if needed." Kohana and Tadaaki suggested giving us a confident nod.
"Hmm I don't want to put any of us in trouble, we may need to get there in a rush, splitting us up may put us in unnecessary danger," I answered.
"Oh dear, this is gonna break the rules Paul set me but I guess I have no choice," Morain pondered, "Okay stop guys I think can help." She slapped and like Sir Polaris began flipping her pages and flipped herself upside down so her pages faced the floor. She glowed with energy as a large magical circle appeared in front of her letting out bright sparks and flashes of magic as it looked like a large beast was appearing from her.
My eyes widened watching everything unfold closely as two huge muscular tailless panthers now stood before us, their eyes were weird looking very alien and weird backwards-facing tusks that would provide them little to no use in combat. It was even already saddled and reined as well as having light leather armour. "HEY HEY! GIVE THAT BACK!!" A man's voice originating from Morain before it was shut off as her spell finished.
"What just happened....." Kohana questioned his eyes widened and his jaw dropped in absolute shock.
"I'll explain later, let's go!" Morain instructed as she closed herself and attached herself to me followed by Evrene attaching herself to the other side of me.
"I'll try and guide us," Polaris informed us as he also attached himself to my side below Evrene.
Kohana and Tadaaki quickly mounted their creature and began to ready themselves. The creature instinctively lowered itself allowing me to get on, grabbing the reins I hoped to god that trying to control this thing would be similar to riding a horse. Squeezing my legs the creature began to move walking slowly towards a quickened walk. 'Miss Emilia they should be this way' Sir Polaris spoke into my head and somehow pointed to me mentally the direction we needed to go. I began to lean forward readying myself for when a horse begins to gallop and with a crack of the reins it began to run at full pace that far exceeded any horse I've ever rode.
We rapidly began making our way through Atlantis as students look at us in confusion and shock stepping and jumping out of our way, "Sorry!" I instinctively yelled out to them as we all ran past causing quite the commotion. "HEY HEY! No mounts allowed on school ground!" A student or teacher yelled at us as we sprinted past them.
"Sir Polaris, how many other individuals do you sense nearby them?" I questioned as we quickly made our way through the school entering a dense forest, "Hold on tight!" I yelled as the creatures began to dodge weave and leap through and off tree surprisingly losing little to no speed passing through the forest, the distant sound of fighting and spells being thrown began to enter my ears.
"I believe there are quite a few individuals, the number seems to be around the thirties. "He informed us as we rapidly bound through the forest emerging into a clearing that seemed to be the forest's end, and what stood before us seemed something almost impossible.
Somehow Atlantis has a huge body of water that stretched out and at the end somehow a huge waterfall in the back feeding it a constant supply of water. Before us stood many Atlantis students around the number of the twenties and five large demons that looked like they were wearing the remnants of human clothing all spread out engaging my friends in a clear numbers advantage and position advantage as it looked like they were flanking keeping Helen, Grace and the other pinned down.
"F'CK!" I yelled out quickly pulling the reins on my mount forcing it to an abrupt stop and letting my self tumble off it before I reached the edge of the forest and pulled myself up to hide behind a tree. Before I could instruct them Kohana and Tadaaki already dismounted their creature and were already in hiding within the tops of the trees.
"Well time to return these," Morain said and with a flip of her pages, they began to glow blue and dissolved into thin air.
"Who's there?!" An Atlantis student yelled at us, unsure if we were friend or foe.
"What's the plan?" They all questioned me remaining in cover as Sir Polaris, Morain and Evrene came out and began to fly around.
"I need a way to draw them towards us, and reduce the pressure on the others," I informed them.
"CAN I go blastin?!" Evrene asked in excitement.
I took a quick peek from the tree I was hiding behind, It was obviously clear that they were all wearing Atlantis badges some even looking as young as Daisy. 'Crap I can't be sure if they are Demons or students.....' I cursed.
"Okay go blastin but don't kill them, we need them alive," I informed Evrene.
"YES!" She flapped in excitement as her pages opened and she floated out from the cover, every part of her began to glow blue, at the edge of each page began to crackle and hiss as sparks electricity began to build up with more and more frequency, a blast of light and energy erupted from her causing all the leaves and grass to get blown back as a huge dense lightning bolt shot out of her connecting directly to the closest student and then chained onto four other nearby students forcing them to shake in pain and drop instantly to the floor motionless.
"Bloody hell..." I uttered looking in complete shock as the smell of fresh ozone filled the air, "I said non-lethal!" I looked at her as she flapped back into cover.
"That was one of my weaker spells....." She informed me and looked down as if she felt a little guilty or she was pouting, making me look at her in even more shock, 'that was one of her bloody weakest spells?!'
"You can't do something small like a firebolt?!" I questioned in shock as the sounds of spells being cast created a cacophony of sound followed by the sounds of splintering tree bark and the dull thud of spells impacting the floor, "Bloody hell, just stay ready for now," I informed her as panic began to set in as the onslaught of spells didn't let up forcing my back deeper into the tree trunk.
"We can't stay here for long, they are gonna flank us and gain an angle advantage." Sir Polaris informed us like a veteran of battle.
"Kohana and Tadaaki don't get yourself caught out in the open, but if you can pick anyone off near the forest edge," I instructed them and with a nod, they vanished into the forest hopefully keeping my flanks clear.
"Sir Polaris I need you to help my friends, I have no idea their condition but they may need your healing," I commanded him.
"I'm sorry Miss Emilia, but Paul instructed me to keep you safe." He gravely informed me but even he sounded a little pained by the decision.
"Now is not the time!" They will most likely need you more than I do." I explained to him.
"Apologies for Sir Polaris's behavior, hes a stickler for rules." Morain apologized to me, "Sir Polaris if you don't go over there right this instance, Emilia will walk out of the cover of these tree and let herself get hurt." Morain explained to him making me give her a look of shock,
"She wouldn't...." Sir Polaris replied in an instant but then looked at me, "Besides I can't get all the way over there without getting blasted out the air." He explained.
"Don't tempt me, my friends are more important to me then myself!" I warned him.
Sir Polaris looked at me straight into my eyes, "Okay fine, It will probably take me five seconds of so to get there. Can you buy me that much time at least?" He questioned.
"Easy!" Evrene and Morain answered with a flap.
"Take these!" Morain instructed him as she opened her pages and with the same similar blue circle created small little bombs that made a thud when they hit the ground.
"What are they?" I asked picking them up.
"Smoke bombs, they should provide Sir Polaris with ample visual cover." She informed me.
"Great!" I said attaching two to him and proceeded to light the rest with my wand and threw them nearby to provide myself with some cover as well as throw some towards the other in a line.
"What the hell?!" a voice yelled out as a huge dense grey smoke began to engulf our position.
"I need a few more," I instructed Morain to create more.
"Evrene anything you got in your arsenal that can spread this fog?" I questioned her.
"Certainly! just light them all!" She answered in excitement. I quickly began to light them all and threw them toward the Atlantis students that were throwing spells at us. "Sir Polaris get ready, you might wanna brace yourself," Evrene informed him.
"Wait wait wait, what are you gonna do?!" He questioned clearly scared of what Evrene has planned.
"I'm gonna shoot you over there," She flapped, "Light his bombs." She informed me as I began to light his smoke bombs.
Evrene began to flip through her pages stopping at a certain spot and began to face in the direction of Jay and the others. "Brace yourself!" She informed Sir Polaris sounding a little happy and excited and with another crackle of magic she let out a deafening boom creating a huge shock wave from Evrene's pages followed by what I can best describe as a strong galeforce wind that was even strong enough to blow me back the opposite direction to Sir Polaris, "Don't I get a say in thissssssssssssssssssssssss." Sir Polaris yelled as he was blown away disappearing in the dense smoke as Evrene blanketed the whole battlefield in a dense smoke that seemingly stopped all combat as her spell finished all that was left was silence.
"Do you think he's gonna be okay?" I questioned a little worried for him.
"He will be fine, I suggest we take this opportunity to change our position," Morain advised me.
"Did I do good?!" Evrene floated back to me as I quickly jumped up running deeper into the forest a little but still close enough to see what was happening.
"You did perfectly." I smiled and peeked around the tree to see five students approaching my old position weapons and wands drawn.
'Now I can relax a little knowing the others will be okay with Sir Polaris.' I let out a breath of relief, as the sound of fighting erupted to my side further into the forest, 'that must be Kohana and Tadaaki and by the sounds of it they are also engaged with several students.
"I think I see something!" A voice yelled out, 'Crap did they spot me already? Okay time to worry about myself for a change
