Chapter 1 - Pilot

I'm walking down a brick road. The bricks beneath my feet seeming undisturbed for decades on end. On my left was an endless see of green, the wind blowing through the grass making it look like waves in the heart of the ocean. The sky is clear and the temperature slightly warm, the image of a perfect summers' day, not too hot warm nor too humid. Along with the cool breeze from time to time, I feel as if nothing would go wrong. On my right laid a wall made of odd stone. As far as I could see, it goes on and on across the field. I squint my eyes to see if I could see the end of this wall but I fail to do so. It just goes on and on.

I'm walking down a brick road. A perfect day without a cloud in the sky. Endless see of green on my left and a stone wall on my right. Upon closer look upon the wall, vines and moss have taken hold as it gives off this air of antiquity, it's as if the wall has been here since forever, standing strong and proud on this endless field of green. Forever looking towards the see of green but not seeing anything but the empty field.

I'm walking down a brick road. Walking. Walking. Walking. Just walking. Wait, why am I here anyway? I don't remember. For all I know is that I'm just walking here. Not a soul insight. Just walking, on this brick road.

Something's not right. I feel like I'm forgetting something.

"It's probably nothing too important though"

I'll just continue walking but why can't I shake off this feeling that I lost something. Something important, very important.

I'm walking down a brick road. How far I've walked? I do not know. How long I've been doing so? I have no clue. I feel like it's been a long time yet I don't know exactly how long. All I know is to keep on walking. I look down at my feet only to see a bloodied mess. My shoes were torn up and ruined a long time ago, still you could see parts of the top half at least. One could tell that my socks that were once white but now you could only see those socks above my ankles. Still, I've got to walk. Keep moving forward. Never stopping. To where I go? I'll never know. I neither feel thirsty, hungry nor tired. Endlessly walking, the sea of green swaying with the wind, sparkling like an emerald, beautiful and pristine just how I remember it. "Remember it? When exactly did I start remembering anything?" these words escaped my lips, cracked and scalding. I lick them with my tongue only to feel the rough cracks upon them. Strangely enough, it doesn't hurt. It feels natural, it has always been this way course, rough and cracked.

"Marcus!"

Strange. For a moment, I heard something.

"Marcus!"

There it is again. Someone is calling someone else but who? Why do I feel as if I know who.

"Marcus!"

Who is this, Marcus? And why do I feel like I know the one calling. Her voice was as if gifted by god. Warm yet firm, strong yet gentle. Who is she? Why do I feel like I know her?

"Please! Come back to us!"

Come back? To where? I've always known this field, this brick road, this stone wall. It's how it's been and how it will always be.

*Crack*

Suddenly, cracks start to appear on the wall. They were as small as hair lines at first but it spread throughout the wall. Spreading. Spreading. Growing larger. I turn back and saw that the wall is starting to crumble. "Was it supposed to be like this? It's always been here, why would it start crumbling now." The cracks on the wall spread at an unprecedented pace ever growing, spreading all across the wall. I get the feeling that this wall means something. I slowly reach my hand towards the wall, there I could see my hands were nothing but skin and bones, veins clearly seen almost bulging out as I tried to reach my hand towards the wall. The moment my hand touched the wall, countless memories came flooding towards me as if a dam had been burst. My sea of consciousness flooded and in disarray but within the memories that came forth only two things stood out. The first one being the owner of that voice. A girl who was with him right from the start. Always there holding him up. Her blond hair would always be neatly tied up into a pony tail, her lips colored a pale ish pink. She often pouted and when I teased her, her lips would form a cute 3 as she would look away to the side. Her aquamarine eyes were as deep as the ocean yet calm regardless of the situation never wavering and always looking forward but the thing that stood out of everything about her was her voice. Warm yet firm, strong at the same time gentle. "I was a fool to forget her voice." As the memories start to come back countless pictures flooded my head.

The second thing that stood out from the memories that came forth was a scene that was also the last. The scene where I died.
