The other horsed troll was not able to follow the leader, his horse made a sound that alerted the farmers, an axe was thrown but did not finish him, still alive, he continued his attempt but another weapon was thrown, a spear has struck no vital organ, but it added to his previous injuries that caused his death. Seeing that another ally has been killed, the archer stopped crouching, he has to escape, the grasses in front of him hindered his vision, hoping that If he can't see the enemies maybe they don't too but when he was about to stand up, a slash was given, a head rolled down.
The Troll from the tower was still looking below, where the incident happens, of course, he was crouching and carefully watched, he can't let the enemy notice even a slight movement or a strand of hair, he can watch, but he can't hear words.
Somehow all the seven farmers are alive, some of them were gravely wounded, so they chose to lay down waiting for their able comrades to carry them, the pain on their faces was evident but then they grin from time to time.
Gjoire hurriedly unequipped his bow, he was about to approach the nearest wounded when he felt something on his left shoulder, "You did good Gjoire", it was the hand of the shielded farmer, holding his shield on his right hand, a stuck arrow on it. Gjoire's face was about to go gloom when the man continued," They won't blame you for that cause I'm not, Let Zorin and the others handle the rest".
The man patted Gjoire's shoulder then took a pace, approaching the wounded then Gjoire followed. The seven of them were able to group after some time, the abled has carefully carried the not, all they have to do was wait for Zorin and the others arrival, the alternate did not go through their head, they did not want to, the image of incoming trolls going for these survived men is a nightmare if compared.
"Pretty good shot for a hunter, you can't seem to differentiate animals from Trolls", the wounded spearman was able to find a right spot.
"The young man did kill few", the wounded swordsman spoke then turned his head to Gjoire," you can sleep well, no innocent was slain by your hands".
"You spoke like a warrior, are the rumours true then?", the shielded asked, seeing the face of the swordsman.
"Can't tell which but I did serve the True king back then, that doesn't matter, I'm a farmer now like the rest of you", he answered.
"We did our best", the axeman who experienced worse of all, groaned in pain," now we have the other one thing to do other than waiting for the others", he breathed heavily after speaking the words.
The other spoke no words, and one after another turned their heads to the same direction, slightly facing above," The troll did shout, we heard, we won the fight, now what to do?", one spoke.
"The arrows released did help us, the decision is your Gjoire", the spearman suggested.
The others speak no opposition and just waited for Gjoire's reply.
"My Father did tell me only to hunt deer and boars and like but I don't think he will be disappointed", Gjoire turned his attention to everyone, smiling and nodding is what he sees, "The house has burned, and the rest follows".
Of course, the assumed leader of the scout did not know any of the happenings when he left, the sound of the horse's footsteps, the wind as it blew on his face, but those noises are whispers to the beating of his heart," Lucky… I'm lucky", he said. A few seconds back, he looks back from time to time to check if the enemies caught up, but after looking ten times or more, he started to relax, watching at his hands holding the rope.
Then he started to hear something peculiar, horse's footsteps, not his but somewhere far front and also the sound of wood clashing with rocks, he was unsure, so he raised his head, then he saw in front of him, a wagon going the same direction as him.
"The Leader's brother has come, I need to tell him", hope can be seen on his face, now that he doesn't need to go back to the camp to kill the enemies, these men he will carry to kill them faster that's why he sprinted.
The wagon became more evident, the nearer he gets to it, he was right he thought, there are some men in the back of it. He sees weapons being hugged dearly, all kinds of them, but then he gets a little bit suspicious, not because of the poor quality of them but the way those men looked at him as he got nearer. Arms reach to the wagon; it's as if he can't handle the stares, so he did not go slower, reaching the front of the carriage, the fur of the horses almost kissed so he turned a little bit to the right, he was proceeding carefully. The brother's men might be rude, but he heard he's sane and sweet in bandit's standard. A, after distancing himself from the wagon, he started preparing his warm, respectful side.
"A Good Evening to you Ser", he saw two men in the front, one was a bulky man with a young man beside him. He expected an answer, but the man just stared at him with disdain, in just a second he had a look of regret. He's not the man he thought he was, this man he knew personally, the muscled man with short black hair and bearded face, Zorin, one of the farmers; he was focused on the glaring pair of eyes, so he was foolishly late to notice.
"You should greet back", he heard a voice, but it's not from Zorin's zipped lips, from the other where it came. A young man with a peculiar look, his face and skin not from Reindeer lands, he was smiling when he spoke.
One has escaped, Zorin thought, he didn't see who has to lead the scout, but he guessed this is him, he knows him too, went from time to time to his home to collect the harvest, he always hide his wife and sons when they came. He heard unfortunate things from the others, luckily, none happened to him, but that did not put down the flames on his eyes.
The troll knew the young man is what the Leader was talking about, the merchant who collects harvested goods in exchange for coins, the products that they should own, nothing personal is what he felt. A merchant from the Far East, he doubts. He was not gravely injured, but he can't risk fighting the men on the wagon.
" I will", Zorin stood up with a balanced stance, the wagon was moving on a rocky path, but that did not distract Zorin one bit, Hanzo's able but that did not stop him to put awe in his face.
The Troll was confused and afraid of what Zorin's about to do, he saw the man released a broadsword that glimmers in silver. Now he had an idea, but the only thing that stayed on his mind was to run as fast as the horse can.
The Troll did not saw the faces of the men inside the wagon, they were gathering to the front, some even stepping on the large chest they have been avoiding, they have to see what's Zorin's about to do and It happened.
Blood was everywhere, Zorin almost entirely cut the troll's waist, but the corpse managed to fall from the horse before he finished, he was able to grasp the rope and locked his legs on the horse, it did not panic somehow. He had bloodstained of a face, sitting on the slippery wet blood on the horse's back, there's blood on the sheets of the wagon too, he noticed.
"It's good", added with a gesture, he noticed Hanzo was about to stop the wagon, so he spent no time riding the horse.
"The corpse was not surprised of our ride; they're expecting someone?", Hanzo asked after seeing Zorin's being comfortable with the horse.
"That's new to me, the bandits' leader has a brother that visits bringing his men with him, that would be my guess", Zorin saw stains on Hanzo's face, and the young man seems not giving a damn.
"That would be worse", Hanzo commented sarcastically.
Zorin replied with a chuckle, did I take a glimpse on this man's mind, he was surprised.
The others heard the short conversation of the two, they did experience fighting themselves but they did not understand how this mysterious supposed to be merchant is smiling on this live or die battle they're about to face, and their respected Zorin seems to be going in the similar direction. They forgot to notice the bloodied robe on the young man.
