They knew the dimensional instance was real and not a mere illusion. It was a pocket of time and space that separated itself from the 'real world'. If one were to stay in the dimensional instance, there would be no significant difference except the perception of time.
Of all the information portrayed, the most important segment Shi Zuo needed to take note off was the estimated health of his shown at the top right corner of the visor. The health of the Squad Members was also indicated right below of the cultivator's health bar.
