Chapter 4 - 1.3 Ye Ren

Walking over to the table, I pulled out a seat and sat down in a relaxed manner.

"Su Lin," my father started to say slowly, "it's great that you're joining us for breakfast this morning."

He then stared at me intently, as if he was trying

to gauge out my reaction.

Leaning back in my chair, I folded my hand in my lap before replying, "Father, I would like to go out more and expand my connections. I know that I've been spending the majority of my time in seclusion and I regret not spending more time with you and mother," after saying that I got out of my chair and kneeled in in front of both my parents, "I have been an unfilial son," I said choked with tears.

Inwardly, I was praising myself on my good acting.

Shocked, the whole table went silent until I felt a hand on both sides of my shoulders, gripping them tight. I was was then pulled to stand back up and crashed into a broad chest.

"Son," my father said, still hugging me, "though I don't know what happened to you to cause you to be so rare to see, your mother and I still love you, so don't kneel in front of me again," Father slowly said in his gruff voice.

I felt another pair of arms on me and recognized them as my mothers. After a few more minutes of hugging it out with just the three of us, we finally pulled back with smiles on our faces.

I then looked back at the table and focused my attention on my two siblings whom had black lines on their faces and an expression similar to one you would make if you accidentally ate a fly.

Smirking inwardly, I turned my head back to my parents who still had a smile on their faces. As if just remembering something, father faced me and said, "We're going to be hosting a party tomorrow in celebration of a business deal between the Xia Family Co. and our business. Together we will be the strongest in the world, business wise."

Turning to all of us he continued, "I want all of you to make some connections and get acquaintances to some people t expand your connections," then his face morphed into a more serious one, "don't make the Su Family lose face."

"Yes father," we all replied gravely.

After that we all sat back down and continued to eat breakfast. After a few minutes my father got up and left for the days work followed by my mother who had a tea party to go to, leaving my siblings and I at the table.

'System, how far has the plot progressed?' I asked.

"Host, people have already believed that you are a good-for-nothing, ugly brat."

I scowled inwardly, 'which blind people think I'm ugly, they're the ones who are ugly,' I thought in irritation. A voice then tore me away from my thoughts.

"Eldest brother," my sister said in her sickly sweet voice, "what compelled you to leave your room so abruptly?"

"Well, can't I leave my room whenever I want, I am after all the heir," I said with mirth.

"I know eldest brother," she said hurriedly, "I was just worried when all you did was stay in your room," she said with tears starting to fall from her eyes.

I swear, if I didn't already know her personality, I would have fallen for her act. This just reminds me of how much of a bitch she is.

"I appreciate your concern for me, but please refrain from delving into my personal business," I said coldly. I then got up and left the room, and headed back to my bedroom.

I picked up a pair of black sunglasses that matches my outfit and headed outside to the garage where my car was parked. After getting inside, I drove of to the mall and and parked it on the lot.

I knew people were watching me because of my ridiculously expensive car, but I didn't mind since I liked the attention. When I got out, I heard audible intakes of breath as people feasted their eyes on me.

Smirking, I went inside the cafe that was situated next to the mall with confident strides. I picked a seat to sit down that was close to the window and waited for the waiter to come and take my order.

Why I'm doing this?, you ask. Because since everyone already thinks I'm ugly, I wed to get my face out there even if they don't exactly know that I'm the heir to the Su Family. Of course, there's a selfish reason too. I liked people admiring me, you may call me arrogant or being on the edge of narcissism but it's a fact. I'm too sexy for my own good.

The waiter came back to me with the lemon tea I ordered. He blushed when I winked at him through my shades.

While I was enjoying my tea, the door opened and in walked in a devil in human clothes. I have to admit that I almost drooled when I saw his body.

As if he felt my stare, the man turned his gaze to me and that's when I got a better view of him.
