While they were waiting, a blackout suddenly occurred.
"Wa!" Cookie and Claire shouted involuntarily startled by the sudden darkness.
The lights suddenly turned off, startling the group in the living room. The group who were in the study room (as the room was soundproof) could not hear any actions from their side. Their discussion was momentarily halted by the sudden black out.
"Cookie? Claire? Are you alright?" Bill asked slightly anxiously hearing their reactions.
"Yah, I just got startled, why the sudden blackout?" Claire replied as though the scream did not come from her at all. If the lights were turned on that time they would surely see her bright blushing face then.
"I don't know, could this be a surprise attack?" Cookie fearfully asked making the group's nerves heighten hearing this possibility.
"Reen? Where are you?" Mirly asked worriedly
"I'm still here…" Reen assured her
"Well, it can't be helped, a few of you stay here while me and Mirly will go and check the breaker room or search for some flashlights."
Reen suggested calmly as she already texted the people at the meeting room that everything was fine.
Similar with Cookie's idea, they also thought that it could be a surprise attack but knowing that Lilith would be too preoccupied with the reporters, paparazzi and the sudden blow they did this morning she would have no time to deal with them calming them down.
This thought lingered through the minds of these young adults so they settled their frantic hearts once they realized this fact.
"Ah!" Someone suddenly shouted
"Huh?! What's wrong? Mirly was that you?!" Cookie said trembling nervously, the previous thought of an ambush resurfaced in her mind.
"Sorry 'bout that, I tripped when I tried standing up." Mirly sheepishly said.
All their stuff along with their phones was placed in one of the corner of the living room. She stood up to try to get it to at least use the flashlight app on their phone but had stumbled instead.
"Stupid! You startled me!" Cookie could not help exclaim as she placed her hand on her rapid beating heart
"Oh! I didn't forgot you were get easily startled" Mirly said teasingly
Cookie blushed while Bill softly chuckled hearing this exchange
"You just blush didn't you?"
Which made Cookie blush even redder
"You!"
"Too bad I can't see you."
"Oi! Can the two of you stop your flirting already?" Veo piped in, he could not help but roll his eyes.
His remark gained a chuckle from the group though no one could see his eye roll.
