Chapter 7 - Gaze

"You can just drop me here."

"But sir, madam said-" staring at the review mirror and looking at his chilling gaze he couldn't help but swallow his words as he parked at the side of the road fronting one of the luxurious skyscraper of their city. He walked out of the car and opened Uoron's side door.

Uoron elegantly went down as though he was used to such gestures.

Uoron nodded as thanks and started walking away from the car. Ardin bowed down and looked up to make sure Uoron went inside, he then went back inside the car and sped hurryingly home.

"Sh*t! How can such a young man have such terrifying eyes." Whispering to himself while thinking what he would tell Mr. And Ms. Nadia what happen.

"Good evening sir!" the guards and receptionist greeted which Uoron returned with a slight nod. He rode inside the elevator, punch for the 41st floor took out his phone and called his assistance.

After disembarking from the elevator, he said to the other person on the other side of the phone.

"I want you to investigate someone for me." He smiled amusingly yet still maintaining his chilling gaze.

.....

The next morning, Reen woke up and felt a stinging pain at her arms and face. She scrunched her face as she recalled what happened last night. She sighed, got up and combed her hair in front of the mirror. She distractedly combed her hair while looking at the midnight eyes staring backed at her. She remembered everything that happened 5 years ago.

"That vile man! the b*tch! Mom… Bro… Sis…The fire…" she whispered as she continued to comb her hair in trance.

The blood… They were blood everywhere. She placed the comb at the table and stared at her hands in front of her, the palms facing her. An illusion of a thick dripping blood appeared before her. Blood was on her hands, on the floor… the overturned furniture, the broken glass scattered all over and the distant hysterical laughter. The illusion seems so real that she could even smell the stench of the fresh blood and burning flesh.

She clenched the puzzle piece pendant on her neck while clenching her other fist into a ball, glaring at her reflection at the mirror. Ignoring the pain from both hands as a thick murderous intent emitted from her body as she gritted her teeth in obvious rage and distress.

"Reen! Are you awake? Hurry or you'll be late for class!"

Hearing this, she closed her eyes and the illusion vanished. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves. Her eyes turned back into her original jam shade eyes. She stood up tided her hair and went down stairs to the kitchen.
