"Mona, I'm home," Eevie announced as she stepped over the threshold into her office.
This place where she conducted most of the business was an ordinary looking office space. The room was of normal size and the walls were painted a dreary beige. There were typical office paraphernalia like file cabinets, paper waste basket and the like.
In the middle of the room sat a squat table with a computer on top. This was Eevie's personal computer.
Opposite of the table was a plush sofa which had seen better days. There were scratch marks running down the side of the sofa, and the culprit was most likely the black cat that was, at that moment, lounging comfortably in it.
The feline's coat was as dark as the night but had the shining luster of indian ink.
The cat's ears perked up from hearing his name being called. He then stretched out of his curled position with a yawn.
Mona's nose sniffed the air searchingly as if he could sense Eevie came home with a treat for him.
A pair of milky white eyes stared beseechingly at Eevie. Mona leaped down from the sofa graciously and padded to Eevie's side.
He curled his furry body around one of her legs and his tail stroked her feet lovingly. He was asking Eevie for his treat. Eevie smiled to herself and pulled from her sleeves the five Essence of Life cards she siphoned from Adam. Mona's eyes brightened at the sight of the cards.
"Here you go," Eevie said as she dropped the cards from her fingers.
They fluttered down towards Mona as his eyes followed their graceful arcs through the air.
When the cards were low enough, he jumped up and swiped at them. When he landed, the cards had already disappeared into his paws.
"Five essences, not bad..." He observed with a satisfied purr.
"Indeed, the client was a dashing young man, so I was able to drain quite a bit of life from him," Eevie observed as she strode to her table.
Mona padded across the wooden floor and he jumped up gracefully onto one of the file cabinets. He licked his paws and asked, "Well, whose forces did you stumble into this time? Or did you not?"
Right then, the top drawer of the file cabinet flew open with a sudden gust. The room was instantly filled with the heavy perfume of roses. "Ah, so it was Lust's," Mona commented as his cat eyes followed a book that slowly rose from within the drawer.
It was a pink color notebook wrapped in a gauze of tulle. A simple paper rose decorated the cover and the floral scent seemed to originate from this origami creation. The book floated gingerly through the air before depositing itself on the table before Eevie.
