Chereads / The Mage Poe / Chapter 20 - Morning and breakfast

Chapter 20 - Morning and breakfast

Waking up, Poe looked around the relatively simple room he was sleeping in. Other than the luxurious bed, everything else in the room was simple.

Taking in the new environment that was quite different from a stone floor in some random cave, Poe got up and dressed in his new clothes before leaving the room with the great fluffy bed behind.

Entering the living room of the house, Poe looked towards where Grant slept. The door was open and there was nobody inside the house, so Grant most likely went out to get something to eat for Poe or went training.

Thinking this Poe bet on grant getting him food, before sitting down on the floor planning to train his mana manipulation until Grant came back to feed him…

Manipulating the mana inside his body, Poe tried to make it flow through his entire body instead of just letting it flow from the core to the outside as normal mages does.

This was also what his favorite book called body strengthening, if he kept doing this he should get a skill called body strengthening at some point. This would help him improve his body even faster than before.

Training Poe made the mana go through something called mana veins, well they were normally called blood veins, but the author of his favorite books said they should be used for mana and not blood. Then would you not die without blood?

This was what Poe first thought when he read it, but the author explained that the blood in ones mana veins would slowly change into mana blood that would be better than normal blood and you mana and health regeneration would also increases because of this.

Sitting there silently training for over an hour, Poe woke up from his training when Grant entered through the doorway to the house.

The first thing that caught Poe's eyes was the basket that Grant was carrying around, after noticing the basket and a heavy sword in his other hand, Poe took action.

"Isn't it a little heavy to carry that sword and basket? Let me carry the basket for you."

Poe said fast before reaching for the basket that 100 % smelled like free food to Poe.

Sadly, for Poe, it looked like Grant was quite skeptical of the goodwill that Poe showed him and before Poe reached the basket with the food, Grant dodged him.

Poe, who missed the basket by just a little, was quite sad at the prospect of not getting the food from Grant.

"What are you looking so sad for? You are still getting some of it for breakfast! Really…"

Saying so, Grant began unpacking the baskets contents and setting it up for breakfast, but to his surprise Poe still looked sad.

"Now I have to share…"

Saying so about someone else food, Poe looked even more down then before… Poe seemed to have forgotten that though…

"Did you say something?"

"No!"

Saying so Poe sat at the table and began eating the bread Grant brought back with him.

"Ah, Grant what took you so long to get breakfast?"

Poe asked, still wondering why it took Grant over 1 hour to get some bread.

"I was out training before I went to get the bread. I normally train every morning before eating, I guess I forgot you were here. Sorry."

Saying so Grant look apologetically towards Poe. Poe on the other hand did not mind at all, after all Grant still remembered to take some food back to him, so all is fine.

"No problem! By the way, I was thinking of going back to the guild to take requests so I can level up faster."

Saying so Poe looked towards Grant again. Grant looked like he was thinking for a while, before coming to a conclusion about something.

"The mage guild have a training ground for new mages, but it costs a little to enter, I can pay for you entering for 1 week after that you would have to pay for it yourself. What do you think?"

Grant asked as he looked towards the still eating Poe. On the other hand, Poe looked towards Grant with a big question mark when he talked about the training ground for new mages, but it was most likely a good place to enter.

"If you want to pay for me that is fine, but in the future I will pay you back!"

Saying so Poe looked towards Grant who just shrugged at Poe's intention to pay back in the future, it really did not cost much so he would not really mind paying for it.

"That is fine if you want to, but from the looks of it you have no idea what the training ground is right?"

Grant asked as he looked towards Poe who could only helplessly nod his head in agreement to Grants question, he really had no idea what this so called training ground for new mages was…

"Well for now let's finish eating first after that we can head to the guild, I will let Lillian explain it to you when we get there. From what I know she knows way more about the training ground than I do."

Saying so Grant looked towards Poe who to no one's surprise was confused again.

"Who is Lillian? A friend of yours at the guild?"

Asking this, Poe looked towards Grant who just let out a sigh before answering Poe's question.

"Yes, she is. You have already met her once before. Remember?"

Saying so, Poe put on a thinking look while looking towards Grant and before long, his expression returned to normal as he replied to Grant.

"Was it the blonde one at the counter?"

"Yes, it was indeed."

Saying so, Grant stood up from the table.

"Well for now let's head for the guild when you have finished eating."

Grant then turned and left the room. Poe who just finished eating also stood up and followed behind Grant who was waiting for him outside the house.

Seeing Poe coming out of the house, Grant send a quick look towards him before turning to walk towards the guild in the distance with Poe walking behind him.
