Chereads / ZOMBIE KING / Chapter 7 - Subordinates

Chapter 7 - Subordinates

As the boy looked at the farmers he muttered:

"Oh...eight…"

"More than I expected."

Then he ran up to them and incapacitated four of them. He didn't kill them just knocking them out and taking a few bites for good measure. Making sure that they were infected.

One person was still left…...the old man. The one who rushed up first. The boy purposefully left him for last. He grabbed the man by his neck and kept on choking him. The old man's eyes bulged out. He was struggling and scratching and screaming. Trying anything to survive but it was futile. Eventually,he stopped struggling. What followed for him was an eternal silence.

The boy leaned in besides his ears and said:

"Thanks...without you I wouldn't have been able to take down all of them."

Yes,the boy had been putting up a scared appearance purposefully.

He realized that even if he killed a few of them he wouldn't be able to kill all of them so...he decided to bait them.

As they were beating him up he was 'barely' scratching and biting them.

'Barely' doesn't mean he didn't scratch or bite them at all.

Actually it was pretty obvious. He screamed when he was hit...zombies don't feel pain so why would he scream?

As he finished with the old man he scratched his face for good measure.

Who knows whether he would be infected or not?

As the boy got up he felt a strange sensation. It was hard to put into words. It felt like a connection or rather a feeling but it felt like it wasn't fully established rather he had to respond in some way…

As the boy was feeling or rather examining this strange sensation he heard an unexpected prompt from the Game Eye:

'Yes' said the boy in his heart.

As the Game Eye said this the boy felt that it did something to the connection. Imagine a radio. Before it was like there was a lot of static and the information was unclear but now it felt like the Game Eye cleared the static and fine tuned such that the boy could comfortably communicate.

At this moment one of the farmers who were on the ground having seizures and convulsions stood up slowly.

The farmer's eyes were cloudy and unfocused. His pupils were green and his movements were uncoordinated slow.

'Hunger….Hunger….Hunger….'

That was the only thing the boy felt from this connection. The thoughts being transmitted to him right now were basic or rather instinctual. He had a feeling that it was directly related to the farmer who was standing in front him:

'Is he a Zombie now?'

'Game Eye...this connection...is it from that Zombie?'

At this a map was projected in the middle of his vision. There was a blinking white dot in the very middle and a green dot around it which was blinking. At this moment a bunch of information just appeared in his mind like it was always there just like before.

Apparently this was the map function. He had gotten it in the beginner's gift.

Usually there are five random gifts but three of them had been exchanged for the regeneration skill. He had completely forgotten about it.

'What's my other reward from the beginners pack?'

At that a roulette wheel appeared in front of the boy. It was only visible to him. Just as the boy was about to explore its functions he felt like a gaze was upon him. He looked around and realized that it was the girl. She had somehow climbed but it hasn't been easy judging from the scrapes from her arms and knees.

"Who are you?" The girl said in her language.

The boy obviously didn't understand so he ignored her and walked towards her. He grabbed her neck. Oddly enough she didn't run away for some reason even though tears were streaming down her face and fear was evident on her face.

She soon grabbed her neck and dropped on the ground and started to have a seizure. At this moment another notification came from the Game Eye:

'Yes and from now on can you establish these connections automatically but only the connections with other zombies any other connection must go through me.'

The reason he wanted other connections to go through him was if he himself could control these zombies then who says somebody couldn't control him?

He didn't want to put himself in harm's way just for a bit of convenience.

While he was exploring the functions of the Game Eye a total of nine people had turned into zombies.

He ignored them and decided to wait until all of them transformed into zombies.

It was almost nighttime. The stars and the moon were starting to show themselves but something was wrong today. The boy's throat moved and he muttered:

"What the…..?"
