Chapter 150 - A Familiar Name

A mini note for the people who read the last chapter at the time it was uploaded. My friend wrote the ending. If you haven't realized, this story has nothing to do with what he wrote. I saw Mewtwo somewhere in there. Please reread the chapter for the correct experience. Everything should have been fixed... hopefully. Write a comment if I missed anything in that chapter. Now onto the chapter~

"I wonder why they chose everything to be metallic?" Emile said as they walked into the tower.

"It makes the city a cool tourist destination for people to travel to. And the sun's reflection gives off cool colors," Scarlet Sunset said with a shrug.

The party walked towards the reception desk.

"Uhm... excuse me. Can we... uh... meet the mayor," Nimble Rod said. The party made him say it since they were trying to make him into an avid speaker. Talking to people would help him get better at holding conversations or starting a conversation.

"Do you have an appointment with the mayor?" the lady asked.

Nimble Rod paused for a moment due to embarrassment. They didn't have plans to meet the mayor. It was an impromptu decision.

"No, we don't have an appointment," Emile stepped in to help Nimble Rod. Nimble Rod felt relieved when the party didn't force him to hold the conversation.

"Is there any important reason for meeting the mayor?" The lady asked.

"No. We want to get something from the mayor," Emile said as he scratched his head.

"I'll create an appointment for you. You can meet him in two hours and 20 minutes. Please wait until then," the lady said as she typed things into her computer.

"This is the most professional reception I've seen so far," Emile whispered to the party.

"Yeah," Nimble Rod said with a nod.

The party walked away.

"What should we do," FBS Fulcron said. They had nothing to do for the rest of the time. The party was going to walk out of the tower to grind when something interesting happened.

A group of players walked into the tower.

"We have an appointment with the mayor," one player said to the lady at the reception.

Emile identified them to see who they were. Emile had the habit to check the players around him whenever he walked. It usually led to nothing interesting.

Sentaro Metro

Level 10

???

Drunk Workaholic

Level 10

???

Furious Striker

Level 11

???

He could see their level, but couldn't see their stats. One name stood out. Furious Striker. It was the person Emile's father said to look out for. Emile didn't seek the man since he wanted to do his own things and not chase after one man for days on end.

Furious Striker was a man who looked to be 19 or 20. He had brown hair with blue eyes like the color of the sky. He wore casual clothes like jeans. There were two rings on his finger.

Emile didn't bother searching him up to see how popular he was or what achievements he accomplished when his father mentioned the name.

Emile fell into a dilemma. Should he listen to his father and stop the man from meeting the mayor? Should he ignore the man or should he talk to the man and question him?

Emile wanted to understand the man's personality before deciding on whether or not to harm him. He wouldn't blindly follow his father's advice or instructions. It went against the morals his father taught him from a young age. On a side note, his father seemed to have changed his morals and accepted things that Emile and his past self would find morally wrong.

Emile didn't understand why his father wanted to harm another man for no good reason, so he tested Furious Striker by starting a conversation.

"Guys stay back. I'll talk to those guys and find out something," Emile said. It confused the party; why did Emile go up to a random group of strangers and talk to them. They hadn't seen him do this before.

Emile walked up to them.

"Hey, nice to meet you, I'm Mystical Flame and I'd like to be friends with you," Emile said. A nice and simple greeting.

"Mystical Flame?"

They remembered that name due to the many world announcements that Emile was apart of. They identified him and saw: Mystical Flame {Noble} {Novice Destroyer} {Pioneer: Tier 1}.

He was the true Mystical Flame, top of the world in levels.

"Nice to meet you too," two of the party replied to Emile, while one ignored him. The one who ignored him was Sentaro Metro, who held a conversation with the lady at the reception desk.

The two who replied sent him a friend request.

"I heard things about you," Emile said to Furious Striker in the messages after accepting their friend request.

"What'd you hear about me?"

"I hear nothing specific about you, but I heard your name before," Emile said with a shrug.

"I try to keep a low profile cause there are lots of people trying to screw me over," Furious Striker said with a shrug.

"Why are they trying to screw you over?" Emile asked. He noticed that he wasn't the only one trying to pull Furious Striker down from his pedestal.

"I don't trust you enough to tell you. For all I know, you're another person who's trying to take me down," Furious Striker wrote calmly.

"Oh. That's true, you can't trust everyone," Emile said with a laugh. He didn't seem to get any bad vibes from Furious Striker.

The man seemed cold and detached from the world when Emile tried to increase their relationship from mere acquaintances to friends. Furious Striker would treat acquaintances or individuals he met nicely, but if that person tried to become friends he would become cold towards them.

"At least you understand. We can be, "friends" inside the game, but please don't get close to me unless I want to trust you or need you for anything," Furious Striker said. He placed a barrier between Emile and himself.

He didn't have many close friends because of his cold personality. It would take a lot of luck and skill to break into the heart of the Furious Striker.

Emile didn't know what to do. He didn't want to create enemies intentionally, but he also didn't want to disobey his father. For once in his life, he did nothing. He didn't pick an option.

Emile moved on after the first interaction with Furious Striker. Emile decided to pay close attention to Furious Striker's moves in case he did something wrong or evil. These things include the mass killing of random NPC's without a reason, harassing people, and being an overall douche. If Emile heard anything like that about him, then nothing could stop him from retaliating.

"Good luck with whatever you're doing," Emile said as he noticed Sentaro Metro end the conversation with the lady.

"Thanks," Furious Striker said with a smile.

"It was nice to meet you guys, I'll be leaving now," Emile said as he ended the conversation.

"Let's go grind for the next two hours," Emile said as he walked towards the party.

"Who were they?" Nimble Rod said.

"Some nobodies. I have to pay attention to one for personal reasons," Emile said. The party didn't question Emile too much.

Emile walked out of the tower and his party followed shortly behind. He wanted to leave the city and vent out his frustrations on the mobs. He asked a random passerby about the directions to the exit of the city.

Throughout the walk towards the exit, his mind circulated with two option. Stop the man or observe the man.

Every time the thought came to mind, he would conclude that he should observe him. He didn't want to make an incorrect decision and regret it later on.

The party began grinding on some mobs outside of the city.

Furious Striker's small group did their own things and minded their business without bothering other players or NPC's.

He started off on a good foot in Emile's mind.
