Chapter 110 - An Alliance

The color from Severn's face drained. His face was pale as he exchanged gazes with the Goblin.

The goblin continued to stare at Severn's eyes with a deadpan gaze. Severn slowly crawled back to get farther away from the Goblin.

The goblin looked over to Emile who was watching intently waiting to activate all of his skills if the situation required.

"Urgh argh, raeer era ar," A bunch of illegible words were spoken by the goblin.

Emile took out his sword from his inventory and prepared to attack to attack the goblin.

[The goblin race wishes to be friends with the human race. Will you accept its request?]

This surprised Emile. A completely different scenario occurred from what he imagined. The system translated the intentions of the goblin.

"Yes," Emile selected the option that was the best to make.

[The human race and the Plains Golbin Race are now allies]

"Thank you for saving my life," the Goblin began to talk in eligible English.

"How can you talk?" Emile asked.

"The god has accepted my request to be friends with the hoomans and gave us the ability to understand each other," the Goblin said.

"Hoomans?" Emile said with a laugh. Emile noticed the usage of the word god but didn't focus on it.

"How do your race pronounce it," the Goblin asked with embarrassment.

"Humans," Emile said. The translator seemed to have a few problems with certain words.

"Humans? I like hoomans better," the Goblin said as he crossed his arms.

"You scared the life out of me," Severn said as he walked up to them.

"Why did you have to stare into my eyes? I thought I was about to die," Severn said as he broke in a cold sweat.

"Sorry, hooman." The goblin said as he put his head down.

"It's all right, I assumed incorrectly," Severn said with a laugh.

"I should inform my dad," Severn said.

"Hey, we managed to ally with the Goblins," Severn wrote.

"What is that supposed to mean?" the mayor asked as he signed different papers and read through other projects.

"The goblin was grateful that we released it from the statues control and asked to be friends with the humans," Severn said.

"Are you serious!?!" the mayor exclaimed with shock. He stopped everything he was doing and waited patiently for his son's response.

"Yeah, it asked the god to become friends with the humans," Severn said.

"Do you know how big of a contribution that is!?!" The mayor exclaimed.

"I don't know," Severn said as he scratched his head. Emile and the Goblin were talking about their hobbies and interests.

"I need to report this to the kingdom," the mayor said. He began writing a letter to the kingdom. The kingdom was a special name to Tier 4 cities. These cities had taken over hundreds of other smaller cities and became a kingdom.

Each Kingdom had multiple Tier 3 cities which were a region within the Kingdom. These Tier 3 cities had capital cities. White Star City was the capital city of one of the Tier 3 cities.

White Star City was special since it was the only Tier 1 city in this kingdom to be a capital city.

The mayor began to write a formal letter to the Kingdom. This was a monumental achievement that all should recognize.

"All right, see you another day," Severn said as he was about to end the conversation.

"WAIT..." his father wrote in all caps to show the seriousness. He stopped writing to inform Severn about a few things.

"What?" Severn questioned.

"I want to meet the goblin and talk to it," the mayor said.

"And?" Severn asked.

"Bring the goblin outside the city... at around 300 meters away since we don't want to scare the citizens," the mayor said.

"Okay," Severn said.

They ended the conversation. The mayor continued to write the letter to the kingdom. He talked with a few bodyguards to guard him in case anything occurs.

Emile and the Goblin had their conversation and even sparred with each other. A single weak hit from the goblin was enough to send him flying away in a near-death scenario. The boss dealt 1200 damage to him with one punch. The level gap was too huge to overcome.

"Why is your fist so strong," Emile exclaimed as he rubbed his face. His pain settings were at 75% which caused him to feel the damage from his the punch.

"That's the perks of being a goblin, you have a strong fist and a strong body," the goblin said as he flexed his arm.

"My dad said to bring him 300 meters away from the city," Severn said.

"Are you going to attack the city?" Emile asked.

"No! You saved me from being a slave to that evil spirit. Do you know how long I was kowtowing for? I've been doing that motion for 4 entire days!" The goblin said with a grievance.

"All right, the people in the city might be scared of you, so he wants to talk to you outside the city," Emile said.

Emile noticed that the inhabitants called the system as a god. The system sealed the deal between the friendships. so it was understandable.

They began their trek back to the city. The goblin ordered the other goblins to clear the path. It also informed them about the decision to ally with the humans.

The goblins negatively took this situation. They were cursing the goblin who decided to ally with the humans.

"You're the worst kind of goblin to exist!"

"Why don't you die! We need a better king!"

"The hoomans will enslave us if we ally with them!"

The goblin king ignored their derogatory terms. There was more reason to ally with the humans other than saving his life.

The goblin species were losing their land due to other creatures. Long ago, the goblins fully inhabited the plains and the forest that was near the city, but other species migrated into the forests causing for competition over land.

Some creatures were stronger than the goblins, so they had to move back to give those creatures space.

The goblin king awoke his mind and grew intelligence. He used his mind and strength to become the king of the goblins. The goblin understood the problems that their species was facing. They needed allies if they wanted to thrive for a long time.

Allying with the humans was an attempt to gain a strong ally, and to negotiate land. The humans were some of the strongest creatures due to their intelligence.

The goblin didn't plan the altar scenario. Someone placed the statue near the goblins and trapped the king goblin into a cycle of kowtows. The king couldn't control its body as it continued to kowtow, day and night.

The altar scenario gave the goblin a chance to interact with the humans which were a benefit. Now, it needed to use its words to gain the most benefits from their alliance.

They continued to walk towards the meeting point.

"This should be around 300 meters away from the city," Severn said as he stared at the city in the distance.

The range was too far for the guards to attack the goblin. These guards didn't know why there was a goblin standing with the humans. It was an interesting scenario for them.

The mayor walked out of the city with a few bodyguards.
