"I was so close," Emile said in the party chat. He killed the two out of three players in a 1v3 which was something to be proud of since these players were some of the best in the world.
"You'll win next time," Scarlet Sunset said.
"If only I had more skills to use," Emile said. He was whining about his loss.
"Don't mope about this loss. As long as you tried your best, you shouldn't feel ashamed," Flower Queen said to reassure Emile, "Oh, you could improve your casting abilities or get new skills from the skill systems."
"Yeah. I need to buy more skills from the skill system," Emile said.
Emile used the skills fireball and water sphere. These skills were the only skills he used during each battle.
The proficiency of Fireball and Water Sphere were identical. Those skills hung around 90% which should mean he had a stable body.
He couldn't use his class skills in real life since those didn't have their skill systems that the system gives out.
Emile learned a skill by using 300 fire skill points. The game called it Fire Infusion.
This skill infused fire into his sword. He could now deal elemental damage with his swords. The attack would now deal 10% more damage than normal.
This skill was a passive skill.
Emile didn't want to be unequal in his distribution of skills. He bought the water infusion skill for 300 skill points. He received these skill points by using his attacks.
Each time he used it, he would get 1-5 skill points. This happened ever since he reached 90% proficiency.
The more he used fire infusion the higher the damage he could deal.
Emile didn't know how the attacks would blend with his sword.
The prize ceremony began. The players who won would get their coin value doubled and a Rare item they would roll for.
These rewards were wanted by Emile. The players would get a Rare ranked item for their level which will boost their stats and strengthen them.
The items would be useful for Emile if he got it.
Emile could have bought the meteorite if he won the coin hunt. A lot of things would have gone his way if he won.
Sometimes life doesn't go the way you want it to. Adapt to the changes and move forward.
Emile understood the logic behind this and didn't mope around with the loss. He wanted to improve his skills and strength to win in the next tournament.
Soon, the prize ceremony ended. They teleported the players back to their original locations.
Emiel wanted to test out his new skills. He deactivated water infusion since he wanted to test the skill with no interference.
The game didn't allow Severn into the arenas since he was an NPC. Severn wandered through markets without a cause pondering about certain events while Emile was fighting in the arenas.
Emile took out his metal sword. He activated fire infusion and left in on passive mode.
The sword beamed with red brightening up his surroundings. NPC's stared at Emile with curiosity.
Emile canceled fire infusion. He activated water infusion.
The glowed with a blue sheen. The NPC's believed Emile was putting on a magic show. They stared at him with gazes of wonder, waiting for the next trick.
Emile activated fire infusion without canceling water infusion.
His sword gleamed with shades of red and blue. The colors switched, from red to blue, as if they were fighting over control.
Sometimes a shade of purple would gleam out. Those times were when the skills worked together.
[Your sword is losing durability]
[Your sword has lost 40 durabilities. 460/500 durability left]
Emile canceled his skills. These skills were harming the sword. He couldn't have both the skills active at the same time.
If he wanted to have the skills active, then he needed to practice using the skills. He also needed a better sword.
Emile would get a sword from the dwarf in the Kantaro Mines. To get the sword, he needed meteorite dust. And to get meteorite dust he needed 100 gold coins. Everything looped in a circle and money solved the problem
Emile's inventory had 53 gold coins and some silver coins. He needed to double his gold which shouldn't be too hard.
Fighting in the arena or gambling could get him to 100 gold coins.
Emile didn't want to gamble since that relied on luck and skill. He wasn't a gambler, so he didn't know the techniques that a person could use to win at gambling.
Arena fighting could be another way to earn coins.
Emile teleported to the arena and began his grind.
Two hours later...
Emile's anger for the loss died down. Fighting reinvigorated him and allowed him to have a smile on his face. His win streak increased from 20 to 30 in the time frame.
His stats and his skills could kill 99% of the players in a few hits. The players that could survive from Emile were the players that could block his strikes with their own strikes.
Emile's bet ratio didn't give him lots of money. A few gold coins per fight were his earnings. He reached 100 gold coins in seven fights.
Emile didn't stop there since he wanted extra for future scenarios. He reached 120 gold coins by the time he reached his 30th fight.
The 30th fight was against two large golems were of Chief rank. They weren't a problem for Emile since he had defeated two Great Chief ranked monsters.
This fight gave him around thirty gold coins. He stopped fighting at the arena after reaching 152 gold coins.
Emile left the arena and bought the meteorite dust immediately after he appeared in the city. He didn't want to risk someone buying the item he desired. The odds of this happening were low.
Emile completed the quest after many days of seeking the materials. This quest was worthy of an A rank classification.
Emile teleported to Kantaro Mines and walked to Igneus's home. He wanted the rewards as soon as possible.
Emile knocked on Igneus's door. He knocked multiple times before the door opened. A shot dwarf with a clean-shaven face opened the door.
"What do you want," Igneus spoke with a grouchy tone.
"I have the items you need," Emile said.
Emile took out the items from his inventory and gave them to Igneus.
"Oh, thanks. I wasn't planning to tell you this, but I'm feeling generous today. You didn't need to get the meteorite dust, but since you already gave it to me, I'll keep it." Igneus said.
"I needed Meteorite Dust for another project and I didn't want to waste 100 gold coins," Igneus said.
Emile had his mouth open and words couldn't escape his lips.
"Here's your reward for helping me out," Igneus said. He shuffled objects around in his workplace and took out a rusty metal sword. Igneus blew on the sword with his breath causing the dust to fall.
"Here you go," Igneus said.
The quest gave none experience or gold. The only item he received was a rusty metal sword.
Emile stared at the swords features.
The sword had dark colored hinges giving off a menacing vibe. The blade didn't glow brightly like how a new sword would glow.
Emile identified the item.
