Chapter 75 - City in the Sky

"Are you falling from the sky?!?' Emile exclaimed. He was worried about her.

"Nope. I'm fine up here. There's ground up here, well, not ground per se... you'll find out when you get here," Lily said. She was keeping a mysterious atmosphere.

"How did you get up there?" Emile asked.

"Remember how one local said they had magical beans. Well, they weren't lying. I grew those beans along with a few others quests. It was a lot of back and forth. The bean quest required water from a deep well. I researched deep wells and found a few areas that had a well. I traveled there and had to complete two quests for the usage of the well. Then I bought a bucket and stored the water from the well." She paused here. Emile didn't consider this to be a lot.

"Then the guy wanted good fertilizer for his beans. I was getting annoyed at him, but still got him fertilizer. Afterward, he wanted a good location with fertile soil. I wandered the forests with an item, checking for fertile soils and eventually found one location. I planted the beans, gave it water, and used fertilizer. The guy thanked me with one silver coin. ONE GOD DAMN SILVER COIN." She wrote the last few words in all caps.

"It's all right, don't be so mad. You found a hidden location at least," Emile said.

"No, it's not all right. Do you know how much time I wasted looking for fertile soil? Looking for locations with deep wells? And I had to complete two additional quests to gain access to the wells. I dislike that guy. The beanstalk reached the sky, and the game gave me a friendly notification telling me I could climb the beanstalk," she said.

"All right, where did you plant the beans," Emile asked. He wanted to see where she was.

"Buy a compass from the shop. Afterward, leave through the North Gate of the city. Walk 346 degrees northwest and continue walking in that direction. You'll walk into the beanstalk. You can't see the beanstalk since the game hides it from view." Lily stated.

"All right," Emile said.

Emile took out his tablet and searched for a compass. he bought one for 30 coppers coins. Emile had a few copper coins from grinding. He didn't need to return the three gold coins since the mayor never asked about the money.

The money was a giant bonus for Emile.

Emile left through the north gate. He angled the compass until it directed to 346 degrees. He kept the compass in front of him to stop himself from walking off the track.

Emile walked past trees. He trekked deeper into the forest. He saw a few mobs which attacked him. They were level 10-13, so Emile didn't have a hard time when killing them.

He received a small amount of experience from these mobs. Emile continued walking and saw a small opening in the trees.

He walked into the opening, and a giant beanstalk appeared in front of his eyes.

"Woah," Emile exclaimed when he saw the beanstalk appear in front of his eyes.

Emile spotted that the leaves go around the stalk like a staircase. Lily must have climbed the beanstalk by climbing this staircase.

Emile stepped on the first leaf. It felt weird to step on giant leaves. He climbed the staircase with leaps.

If anyone was afraid of heights, then climbing this stalk would give them anxiety. Emile felt a small amount anxiousness, even though he wasn't afraid of heights.

This showed the enormity of the beanstalk. Emile could see the city in the distance. He could even see the mayor's tower.

Emile touched the clouds. He was surrounded by white clouds. He didn't want to be stuck here so he moved at a faster pace.

Emile didn't move too quickly since if he slipped, then he was screwed. He would experience a fall of a lifetime and experience a lot of pain.

Emile shivered when he thought of this.

After a few more leaves, he was above the clouds. In the distance, he could see... buildings. The beanstalk ended when it reached above the clouds.

'Is that a building,' Emile thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. He also saw creatures walking around.

"You're finally here," Lily said. She was waiting next to the beanstalk. She was standing on the cloud.

"Can I stand on the cloud," Emile was worried that when he stepped off he would fall through the cloud into an unwanted death.

"Yeah," Lily said.

"Were you scared when you stepped on the cloud platform," Emile said.

He put one foot on the cloud.

His foot sank into the cloud. Emile freaked out. He thought he was going to fall through the cloud into an untimely death.

Lily laughed.

"Not funny. I got scared," Emile said as he wiped his forehead.

"Sorry, seeing you freak out is rare, so I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts," Lily said.

Emile placed the other foot on the cloud. His foot sank in. Emile didn't freak out like the first time he put his feet on the cloud.

Emile jumped a few times to show that he wasn't afraid anymore.

He sank deeper into the ground and felt the wind touch his feet. He pulled his foot out of the cloud.

"Yep, I'm not going to jump," Emile said. He regretted the decision as soon as he sensed the wind touching his feet.

Lily laughed again. Her hands covered her stomach as she laughed.

"You'll bring a tear to my eye," Lily said. She stopped laughing.

"At least I made you laugh," Emile said.

"Yep," Lily said.

"What's up here," Emile asked as he looked around.

A winged creature flew. They flew into the buildings or minded their own business. The architecture was unique since the buildings were made out of clouds.

"Let's walk in," Lily said.

"All right," Emile said.

Lily walked in first. Emile followed.

[Welcome to the city in the sky. Welcome to Seraphyl]

The system welcomed him into the city.

"I got 5,000 fame by discovering the city," Lily said. She had already entered the city but hadn't spoken to the locals.

"That's a lot," Emile said.

Emile had never received this much fame. All of his fame was from smaller values. He received less than 2,000 fame for each thing that gave him fame.

Lily received 5,000 fame straight up which was the highest he had seen given by the system.

"I know and now I have a decent amount of fame now. I also have a higher reputation amongst these folks. They trust me more according to the game system." Lily said.

"I got my first title from this location," Lily continued.

"Good job," Emile complimented her.

"I haven't searched this location too much," Lily said.

"Let's find out what those creatures are like," Emile said.

"All right," Lily said before walking towards one of those winged creatures.

"Uhm... what is this place," Lily asked. She had a higher chance of getting a response.

"Woah. You're a human. I haven't seen them since... never. Wow, you must be one of the ugly ones," the bird creature said as she looked at Lily.
