"Woah ! Easy there buddy I got a reputation you know… I... I can't be toss around like that!" Said Jazz while fixing his attire.
Riddick scratched his head and continued like nothing had happened, it had been almost 5 years since they had seen each other and Jazz was considered family. Riddick proceeded to introduce Remulos and took a seat beside the arena while they looked at the matches of the people that had been training for the recruitment event in the upcoming days.
"What's the deal with those two?" asked Jazz while pointing at the Djinn that kept staring at him.
"They are supposed to be my bodyguards in case something happens, It was the only way Uncle Annihilus would let me leave Mount Doom"
"Hmm… I keep getting this bad feeling about them, must be my imagination… anyways is good to see you "
Riddick nodded his head and continue to converse while Rahz was getting the scoop on the upcoming recruitment event. Rahz was concerned about assuming the position of headmaster of the Vengeance Chamber, he still had many loose ends he needed to take care off in the outside now that he was level 31 and taking on the position took away some of his freedom.
It had been quite a few years since he saw his mother and with all that was going on he considered making a trip to Elphinheim and be off the grid for a little while. There was also the issue of Elune taking revenge and he wanted to help her with that. The further away from the Shattering scar, the more Barbaric and underdeveloped the lands were and the easier it was to hide. It would have been really easy to just hide away in the far lands but now that he was a Headmaster the problem with the God of Justice involved way more people.
Sigh…
Now that he was the Headmaster of the Chamber all those plans were abandoned for the time being, but the more he thought about it, the more he thought it was the perfect opportunity to start his own Elysian faction outside the control of the Gods.
The Chamber could be call the Elysian Vengeance Chamber and only demons at the age of 5 could be accepted to it. Now that he knew the truth about the gods, he felt the need to bring back the soul of his father that was sure to be somewhere in the Plane of Valor serving Izana.
It was a lofty dream but he discovered that nothing was impossible even though it wasn't going to be easy. The first step towards his goal was to create a faction to rival Silverwing City and the God of Justice but to do that, he need it to show the power of the Elysian way without attracting too much attention.
The Temple of the Dreadnought, more specifically his teacher Giant Blade was giving him that opportunity on a silver platter. He had the perfect excuse for taking over and under the cover of the very unpopular Chamber he could start developing talent.
"Master Thug'Dromog, I heard the amount of people applying this time is even greater than when I came 5 years ago".
Thug'Dromog smiled and said, "It is all thanks to you!!! Everybody is talking about the champion of the last competition and wanting to go to your crappy chamber"
Rahz smiled at the comment and said, "Why don't we have an exhibition match, you bring the best low level Third Tier you got for a match against me and we can show the new recruits who is crappy and who is not. I promise to only use Chaos Burst and nothing else".
Thug'Dromog grinned from ear to ear, "I think is a great idea, let's make it a 4 way with the other chambers and whoever wins can choose 10 recruits for their chambers immuned to poaching".
"Deal!"
The announcement caused pandemonium among students and applicants alike, it was a rare opportunity to see a fight of that caliber and when it was announce that the previous recruitment champion was already level 31 and was representing the Vengeance Chamber it made people salivate.
There were a few up and coming talents and with Sen'jin the main disciple of Thug'dromog moving into the 4th tier and withdrawing to join the personal guard of a Council Elder, the spot for the Number one student of the temple was up for grabs. The position was not just for show and prestige, the main responsibility of this position was to represent the temple in the Abyss Grand tournament carry out every 10 years between the different forces.
Sen'jin was the winner of the previous one and was offered his current position as the captain overseeing a small company for one of the Council Elders with a good reputation, his new status catapulted him into the ranks of the truly strong.
The chambers didn't take the exhibition tournament lightly at all and sent the very best under level 35 as the spirit of the competition was to showcase the skills of each chamber and Rahz was only level 31.
The stage was set the same day the announcement was made and the contestants made a debut which surprised everyone that had been there the previous time. Rahz looked harmless to children and pets and was pretty skinny compare to the others creating confusion in the masses that started to boo him feeling cheated.
Thug'Dromog had to release his aura to control the situation and in a dominating tone said, "That is the champion from last Student Selection, if you want to look like that do choose the Vengeance Chamber HUE HUE HUE"
Rahz almost cough up blood at the jab Thug had thrown at him, he felt he was back at Helgahvall and was getting bullied by his peers. Rahz clenched his fist and while looking at the laughing participant of the Havoc Chamber said, "Keep laughing and see what happens"
"Oooooh look how I am shaking pretty boy"
The other participants just looked on quietly from the side, according to their Headmasters Rahz was dangerous and they knew that the favorite to win it all was the Havoc Chamber. They thought it would be great if the two of them could take care of each other even before the competition started and leave the stage to them so they could shine.
The only female in the group was the fighter from the Demonic Chamber and for some reason Rahz was always perplex at how once again the biggest demons always seem to be from the Abyssal Chamber despite the fact that they looked more like casters than close combat fighters.
The exhibition match started the next day with a single elimination round and then the finals, Rahz was pair against the Demonic Chamber participant while the other two were schedule to start the show with flare as both styles were very flashy.
The Abyssal chamber contestant immediately started the match by laying Runic Marks all over the field and his control was spectacular as the whole arena looked like multicolor light disco floor. Unlike Rahz unrefined use of the Runic Marks that only compress energy to caused an explosion, the Abyssal Chambers could mold the energy to produce a Silence type spell to disrupt the flow of energy inside a person stopping them from using Combat Arts and skills while there was another color rune that induce fear into the minds of their opponents.
It was a beautiful display of skill but the Havoc Chamber fighter was just too fast. He started the fight using Chaos Rush that gave him an incredible boost to his acceleration before he dashed towards his opponent disappearing from his position.
The Dynamic Vision of 100 percent of the recruits couldn't follow the fight and the moment they saw the representative of the Havoc Chamber disappeared, all they could hear was the Judge declared a winner. Every one look at the stage and saw the Havoc fighter already walking towards his seat while the other was just standing around in a daze.
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM
Rune Mark after Rune Mark went off and then blood started squirting out of 50 wounds that started to appear in the body of the Abyssal Chamber Contestant.
WOAH!! Clap...Clap
Nobody understood what happened but seeing the aftermath was awesome just the same, many of the kids love the style of the chamber and already knew that the current Abyss champion came from there. Defeating enemies even before they could react and then walk away like a boss was cool in any language.
Rahz was able to follow all the movements of the fight and knew that it wasn't the top speed the contestant of the Havoc Chamber could go. The amazing part about the style was not the speed but the amazing control they had over their bodies to change directions in mid air, it was a wonderful display of ability but it lacked on the damage department.
Rahz thought about it from the point of view of a Dragonkin's tough skin and without an overpowered weapon there were no need to dodge since the attacks would not leave any scratches on the scales.
Rahz made his way to the Arena and stood in front of his opponent and did a small bow before the axe made by Jazz appeared in his hands and he grabbed it with one hand waiting for the Referee to start the fight.
