"How do you feel?"
"Unbeatable!!"
The moment Rahz uttered those words his dad disappeared from his spot and then a fist landed on Rahz's stomach and dropped him to the floor. Rhaen took a look at his fist and said, " A bit better but still weak, lets go back so you can familiarized yourself with the new skills"
Rahz stood up a little embarrassed but it was necessary to discovered the extend of his improvement, for his father to say that it was a little bit better meant a great improvement for the average person.
Rahz put on his Kobold Fur and thank the elder for the ceremony before heading out.
Despite everything that had happened the group didn't forget to congratulate Rahz on his evolution and decided to head to a nice restaurant to celebrate with a feast. Rahz had a little trouble adjusting to his new strength but the damaged doors were nothing money couldn't fix.
Rahz and his family were now rich even by Willowdale standards, since the Underground Arena was taking care of the Dark Elf girl, they had 1200 gold coins available to spend or gamble if the arena was stupid enough to bet against them.
After the Grand feast at the restaurant, the group went their separate ways. The trainers need it to secured the grains and other materials that the village needed for the up and coming winter while the other kids wanted to head to the central plaza and see what treasures they could find.
Since the slave auction was taking place in the central area, Rhaen joined the other trainees there while Rahz returned to the hotel to go over his new Combat Arts.
On his way back, Rahz started to organized all the information available to him as it was the first time hearing about Chaos Energy. As it turned out, the Chaos element had two distinctive properties and as The God of War stated before it was a magic element readily available in the abyss where the Demon Race existed.
Chaos energy had two main characteristic, one was the property to burn similar to the fire element and the other was a corrosive property similar to the strongest of poisons. This two properties combined had an advantage against many people in Elysian as having resistance to both of those elements separately helped reduce its effectiveness but it didn't nullified it in its entirety.
Rahz was pretty satisfied with this new energy and proceeded to looked at the information regarding the runes that made him look like a Christmas tree. As a Hybrid class, the Dreadnought had two different sources of power that fueled its Combat Arts, one were the chaos runes and the other was Rage Energy.
The skills that used Chaos Energy cost a set amount of runes to execute and generated Rage in return as well as self inflicted damage to his body. It was truly an specialization that abandoned defense for an overwhelming offense.
Thanks to the generosity of the God of War, Rahz evolution came with 3 chaos skills wrap up in a nice little package.
The first skill was Chaos Blade, this skill required 1 rune to use and tossed an energy blade at the target inflicting Chaos Magic Damage. This skill was a clear opener move for any fight as it could be launch from a distance and it generated enough rage to follow up with a Devastating Blow.
The second skill solved one of the main weaknesses that Berserkers had and that was their lack of control skills to decrease their opponents mobility. Chaos Chains Required 2 runes to activate and created 4 chains made of Chaos Energy that held the opponent in place for 4 secs depending on the strength difference between the two. Since the chains were made of Chaos Energy, they also contained the properties of burning and corrosion that could really do some damage to the targets legs.
The third skill was the most powerful and expensive skill of the kit and was called Immolation Aura. This skill cost a Whopping 3 runes to use and cover Rahz in Chaos Flame for 10 Seconds radiating magic damage in an area of 10 feet around the caster. The skill was very similar to the Shadowknight Unholy Aura but the properties of the element were very different.
The Chaos Combat arts were overpowered but once the Runes where spent there was a period of downtime for the rune to fill back up, and it was during this time that the second resource the Dreadnought had was extremely important. As a Berserker, Rahz had other Combat Arts that were fueled by Rage such as Cyclone, and Weakening Blow that need it to be used as filler while the chaos runes became available again.
The class stuck to the hybrid role through and through and allow Rahz to chose an ultimate Combat Art that required Rage as fuel and he picked Pulverizing Wave. Pulverizing Wave was a Combat Art with high destructive power that synergyzed extremely well with heavy weapon users that took that power to another level.
By the time Rahz actually managed to arrived at his room he was going through the last piece of information in his head and that was the second tier blessing of The God of War, Fadall's Rending. This Blessing increased energy generation by 10% which meant that Rahz was able to use skills 10% faster than a warrior that followed another god.
It all made sense to Rahz, from the way he should start the fights to the management of skills, all the way to the clear weaknesses.
Rahz grabbed his Axe and started to swing it around the room for a little bit but he quickly realized that by physical strength alone, his swings could damage the room. There was no other choice but to look for an open space to train and since he couldn't think of anything, he decided to join his father and the others at the central plaza.
Inadvertently, a couple of hours had passed since he separated from the group and the atmosphere at the slave auction was popping. The Slave traders built up a huge tent for the event and only the wealthiest people had a chance to seat close to the stage, all others had to stand around.
Rahz looked around the people standing up for a while until he was finally able to spot the others from his village.
"So how was it Rahz? Was Berserker all you hope it would be? Which skill did you pick Pulverizing Wave?"
"Don't be jealous cause I evolved earlier than you and now that you are not taller than me you should call me boss"
Everyone around roll their eyes but thanks to that little banter the atmosphere lighten up a lot.
"Have you guys seen my dad?"
"Yup!! He is seating at the front with the announcer from the Underground Arena, there are even Barbarians being auction, is crazy"
Rahz look towards the stage searching for his father but his gaze locked onto the Dark Elf girl being displayed. Rahz didn't understand why but the feeling that he got from her was completely different than before. At the same time, the girl met Rahz's gaze and if anybody payed close attention they could see that she was moving her lips like she was having a conversation with somebody else.
Rahz quickly snap out of his stupor when he heard the Auction manager start the the bid at 200 gold. There were a lot of people interested in the girl for perverted reasons which drove the price to 300 gold in a heartbeat. Rahz's father was very compose as he still had close to 1200 gold and there was no point in participating until more serious bets were on the floor.
The Announcer also had other things to take care off so he quickly raise the bid to 600 gold. It was a pretty good bid but the owner of the most distinguish brothel in town also saw great potential.
"700 gold"
"800 gold"
"900 gold"
"1000 gold coins" said the Arena announcer with pride.
"1100 gold coins" said the Madam with a smile on her face.
"1200 gold coins" said the Announcer once again through grinding teeth. If the madam is willing to give the Underground Arena some face we can arranged to provide the Cafe Risque with a couple of beauties.
The madam thought about it and said "1300 gold coins"
"1400 gold coins" Three beauties.
The Madam was an excellent business woman and seeing that the Underground Arena was serious about obtaining the girl it was unwise to start a war instead of obtaining 3 girls for free.
"Sold!! to the gentleman in the front for 1400 gold coins"
After the announcer canceled the bill, the Girl was brought over and handed over to Rhaen. "As promised Mr. Rhaen here is the fee for the fight, please make sure you are satisfied"
Rhaen nodded and then said to the retreating announcer " As a favor to the Underground Arena, let me help you make the money you have lost back with a piece of advise"
"Mr Rhaen please do tell"
"If your leaders want to make back the money lost and much more, tell them their money should be on Rahz"
The announcer turned around and sneered before fading into the distance.
