A gargantuan roar sounded out above the forest and I was paralyzed with fear.
[System detects extreme danger, host is advised to run]
I could slowly feel the effects of the roar wearing off, after a few moments I was able to start moving my fingers again. My hope to escape was crushed when I felt a huge lifeforce presence dozens of times larger than anything I'd seen before. I felt a huge pressure weigh down on me as wind spun around, nearly forming a tornado. I was let know why this was happening in the form of seeing a huge dragon landing in front of me. It landed on the ground with an earth-shattering crack.
[Lv.25 Argorok, Ancient Forest Guardian (Tier VI Boss)]
Argorok looked at me, and just by making eye contact I felt a huge pressure on me.
"I've been in slumber for decades, human. Do you know what it means to wake a dragon from his slumber?"
He continued without giving me a chance to say anything.
"It's a challenge. A challenge to take over the domain of the dragon. So I came out here expecting to see a legendary demon, but what do I find burning down my forest? A puny classless low level human! And although I would like to know how someone of your kind has managed to grow even this strong, I don't think I'll be able to contain myself for much longer. Here, I'll do you a favor. I'll put you out of you out of your misery."
He raised his hand and from one of his claws I saw a jagged whirling disc of wind form. He then flicked his finger towards me, sending it flying at me. I tried with all my will to move but couldn't budge an inch. I closed my eyes, resigning myself to death when I heard a familiar hiss. I tried to tell Charlotte to run but I couldn't talk. I watched, frozen to the spot as she threw herself in front of me. The wind blade grinded through her slowly, before dissipating around three fourths of the way through. I looked down at Charlotte's body, heat slowly fading as she let out a series of seemingly satisfied hisses. I reverted my gaze to Argorok. I felt anger like I'd never before felt, pure hatred burning within me.
I slowly started to move, picking up my spear and standing straight. I then proceeded to stab myself. I kept stabbing until I was down to 10% health. Argorok was watching with a seemingly amused look. My eyes burned red as my body developed a heavy red haze around it, changing in color to a deep crimson red. I could barely think as I opened the system shop. I didn't even hear the message as it played to me.

I scrolled down, not noticing how much longer the list was. I arrived at the end of the list and chose a random spear. My vision was starting to go dark as the rage and hatred combined themselves into something much more powerful.
[Rented Gungnir (True Legendary) for 30 seconds]
I equipped it as I covered it in the force resulting from the rage and hatred. From an outside perspective you'd have seen my body covered in raging black flames. I put half of my mana into my right foot, pushing forward and using the mana to rocket myself towards Argorok. His eyes snapped wide open as he slashed at me. I raised my spear, infusing with every energy I could. Battle Sense showed me the exact way to position myself and my spear, and it slid through his hand like butter. He let out an deafening howl as I carried through. As I was about to stab where I thought his heart was a huge red dot appeared in my sights on his lower abdomen. I redirected my spear to it. Before It even met with his scales my spear shattered through several mana barriers. I overexerted myself far past my limits as I pushed harder
I kept pushing as my spear slowly went into his abdomen. A crisp shattering sound accompanied the red dot fading. He fell backwards, and I got a glimpse of his shocked expression before I collapsed to the ground. All the energy within me faded and I couldn't hear the numerous messages playing out to me. I let a satisfied smile make its way onto my face knowing I'd avenged Charlotte. As opposed to my last life, with blaring sirens and people talking all around me, this time I died quite quietly.
I woke up in a white room. It wasn't very big, only about twenty feet across either direction. I walked around for a moment before the systems now familiar synthetic voice sounded out and a panel appeared before me.
[Merit Points:371]
I looked at slightly confused before remembering. New game +, when I died the system must have tallied up my achievements in some way before I died and now they were being displayed to me in merit points. I tried to open the system shop, but what opened was a Merit Point Shop.
I looked through it and by the time I'd read only the first thing for purchase I was rubbing my eyes to check that I wasn't seeing things.

I wanted to immediately splurge all my points on this but held myself back. I looked at the next thing.
[Starting Skills]
[N/A]
[100 Merit Points to retain all skills]
I immediately purchased it. I could only vaguely remember my last fight before I died, but it gave me the feeling that without my skills I would've lost. Although considering I died I guess I did lose? I can't really be sure. I looked at the next option.
[Stat Points Gained Per Level]
[Current]
[3]
[20 Merit Points/Stat Point]
I spent 140 Merit Points to bring it up to ten stat points gained per level. I moved on to the next option. This left me with 131 Merit points remaining. Then I opened the next category, Evolution.
