Chapter 19 - I Only Want to See Her

Hei Long heard what happened on the apparent realm. What merge to be more powerful? What wouls probably happen was Liang Heyun swallowing Liang Yan. The lady had no chance against Liang Heyun even in her weakened state. This was one of Hei Long's powers. To creep through the darkness in humans hearts and view the apparent realm's activities through it. There was no pure person in the apparent realm, only those who could suppress their demonic urges.

Hearing it, he stood his guard against Liang Tan.

"What do you really want with the Lady?" Although he still couldn't accept the fact that his Lady was currently a little boy, he still had to protect her, it was his duty and he didn't plan to slack off.

"Oh?" Liang Yan gave him a surprised look, "Zhang Zhaozhao, that scheming old fox. So that was what he planned when he put the merging formation in this place. To think that he actually seek my demise..."

Hei Long looked bewildered. As far as he knew, Zhang Zhaozhao wanted Liang Heyun to be destroyed and absorbed by Liang Yan, who he apparently had a good relationship with. To think that even Liang Yan herself thought otherwise. Could it be something that Zhang Zhaozhao planned himself without Liang Yanas knowledge? If so, then Zhang Zhaozhao was much more dangerous than he thought he was.

"He wanted to pit us twin souls together," Liang Yan explained. Twin souls were souls with the exact same aptitude and the exact same attribute. In addition, they each developed like a single soul, and so their power was not half-half equals one but one-one equals two."

Hei Long understood that, but what about the merging thing, "I thought that would can't merge?"

"Only twin souls can merge, and once merged, their aptitude will double, alongside their power. However, there is only 6% success rate. Even if they successfully merged, there was only 1% chance the souls retained their memories of their past, because the clash of memories could make amnesia," Liang Yan explained, "isn't a memory losing scenario the best to play sheep saving a damsel in distress'?" Liang Yan's face was full of bitterness, "to think that I once let him enter the scholar pavilion..."

"What!?!" Hei Long was shocked, "you let him enter the scholar pavilion? Then...Then...What secrets does he know about Soul Realm now? The next thing I know, he might try to merge Bai Long and me!"

Liang Yan shook her head helplessly, "let's find the envoy first. I have sent him over to the apparent realm to check on Zhang Zhaozhao' s recent activities. Worry not, that man could never enter Soul Realm, unless this plan succeeded and I saved his dissipating soul."

The envoy was a handsome young soul, who seemed to have died because of an accident, explaining where his regret came from. The soul's face was cold and his demeanor aloof. The young maids in Liang Yan's residence were heads over heels towards the young man. There was something different between the young man and the other people in the residence. His appearance was nothing like an Asian, instead, he was a westerner.

"Aaron," Liang Yan smiled, "you're here."

The young man bowed Chinese style, "Monarch."

Another thing that differentiate Aaron with the other souls was the fact that he wasn't blue. He was a high rank soul, but he still had to bow down to Liang Yan, showing the woman's supremancy. Liang Yan was quite satisfied with Aaron's demeanor. From the first time she met the young man, it had always been that way.

"Maids, take Liang Heyun and Bai Long away to rest, " Liang Yan said, emphasizing on the words 'to rest'. The panicked Hei Long immediately flared up again. What did Liang Yan want with the Lady and Bai Long? Although Liang Yan had proved her side of innocence, it didn't mean she would immediately trust her. The demonic dragons were, after all, full of distrust.

"What do you want to do with her?" Hei Long asked. His face was painted with worry, after all, this was the Lady we were talking about.

"I just want to see her... that's all...," Liang Yan gave him a smile full of reminiscence, "she shouldered a burden way more than I do."
