A slight radiance emanated from the cube as Li Hui pushed it towards Jun Sha. The sides slowly unfolded, revealing a mechanical complexity within itself. The glowing fibres of its existence reached out towards Jun Sha's head, latching themselves upon his skull before retracting shortly after.
Moments later, a futuristic interface appeared before Jun Sha's eyes and a third dimensional construction of buttons and systems constructed around him. A dull, male, metallic voice resounded within the constructed space.
"Jun Sha, professional gamer, 23, Demon Lord, authorised."
"Li Hui, professional gamer, 23, Demon Adviser, authorised."
"Welcome to the Battle Panel System. Enjoy our servitude."
Li Hui voiced out to the system, "System, materialise me."
Instantly, the two demon eyes became pixelated and imploded before reforming into a human shape. Jun Sha sighed in relief, at least now he wouldn't have to face a pair of demonic eyes every time he wanted to communicate with Li Hui.
Li Hui was just as Jun Sha remembered, not older, not younger, just simply the way he was since he last saw him, "Alright, run me though this system."
Li Hui grinned before answering, "There's nothing much to this system to explain. I'm sure with your comprehensive ability, simply talking to the system will help you understand."
"Sigh"
Although Li Hui was back to his normal human self, his sense of childish humour was still present, annoyingly present. Jun Sha flashed a look of discontent before turning to the system, "Alright, you big hunk of technology, how do you function?"
"I function just as you think I do. With your mental ability, simply analysing the system should help you understand."
Tch
'This system is just as damned as Li Hui,' Jun Sha reached out for one of the joysticks upon the illusory construction of a control centre. Upon touch, the map located in the top left corner began to expand rapidly before centring itself in front of Jun Sha. Although majority of the map was present, most of the locations were not detailed and only had a large name atop of them.
Of the areas that did have details, most were bordered towns between the territory of the demons and the mainland for supposed humans. Jun Sha glanced curiously at one of the most intricately labelled locations.
{ Western Region of Greycastle - Border Town (City of Neverwinter) }
Danger Level - High+
Victories - None
Defeats - Numerous
Recommended Attack Force - Demon Squadrons 1-14
Additional Notes - Large amounts of firepower
- Long range advantage of several kilometres
- Powerful witches present
- Intelligent human leader
Jun Sha stared oddly at the dot points beside the pinpointed city, "Li Hui, what do they mean by witches? Have you encountered any before?"
Li Hui strode over quickly, looking at where Jun Sha had been eyeing before answering, "Ahh yes. You can think of witches as Sorcerers in FUBG. They're basically magic wielders that each command a unique ability in someone or another. I've encountered several before during the battles between the demons and the humans, and some of them really stand out in terms of ability."
Li Hui took a breath before continuing his explanation, "There are a few notable witches with extraordinary abilities as well as fighting capabilities. Within the City of Neverwinter, there are supposedly several dozen witches, of which three have powerful abilities that I've observed. There is one that is able to create large areas of black coloured fire, instantly damaging, and sometimes incinerating our units. Another is able to turn invisible and is amazingly agile during combat, however even I do not know much about this one. Finally, some of our more intelligent senior demons were able to identify previous seriously injured humans come back to the battlefield only days after being treated. I suspect that there is a witch capable of healing injuries to a large extent."
Jun Sha whistled in awe as he heard each of the abilities being described. Back in FUBG, the Sorcerer class excelled in high damage output while also boasting of outstanding crowd control abilities. If one was able to manipulate a sorcerer battalion to perfection, it was just as devastating as several knight battalions combined. Lightly cursing to himself, Jun Sha found himself longing for a battalion of witches to be at his command. One would have to know that Jun Sha was considered the perfect tactition and his control over all his units far outstripped the other pros, especially his usage of sorcerers.
"Hopefully the enemy leader isn't intelligent enough to utilise his sorcer... witches to perfection. Otherwise, with several dozen of them, they could be trouble, even to me." Jun Xiang glanced at Li Hui, "So how long have you been here?"
"I've been here for approximately 3 weeks, however I inherited the memories of the previous Demon Lord. You need to go get them as well. This way, we will be able to understand our situation."
Li Hui reached out towards the system panel, "Grant Jun Sha - File - Demon Lord Memories."
In an instant, Jun Sha felt a surge of energy coursing throughout his mind, circulating his nerves and leaving behind something large before exiting his body.
Although they were classified as memories, Jun Sha could see a system interface before him, showing a list of different sub categories of what seemed like the Demon Lord's memories. As Jun Sha quickly scanned through all of the listed files, his eyes began to shine, the truth of the world began to unfold as memory upon memory passed by his mind.
Jun Sha threw back his head, laughing out loud for a long while before composing himself, eyes gleaming with excitement, "Yes! This is the kind of life I wanted. A challenge, an impossible quest, a path to glory!"
Li Hui smiled in understanding, he had been opposing Jun Sha long enough to know his personality and he knew that this type of difficult challenge was the only true source of entertainment for Jun Sha.
Li Hui reached out to pat Jun Sha's back, "It's alright, we're in this together. However, before you go off celebrating your newfound interest, let's formulate a plan so we can begin counterattacking."
Jun Sha nodded firmly before reaching out his right hand, with a gesture for a handshake.
Li Hui happily took the hand, staring into Jun Sha's eyes, "Let's do this!"
"Yeah!"
