"Papa!"
Was what a young girl yelled as her father shielded her from a blast.
"Oh. Is the battle already settled?"
The figure that fired the beam finally spoke. He had a rough voice. He was also very tall and skinny, with red skin. Giving off a really eerie vibe to him. Two wings and a jagged, but sharp tail alludes to the fact that he was a Demon.
"The fight . . . is just getting started!"
With that said, Justice stands up, pulls out his sword, and gets into a fighting position.
He wasn't going to hold back on the intruder.
"Great!"
Justice chants something and his sword started emitting a red light for a bit. Both of them started attacking each other. Justice with his sword, and the Demon with his tail. They traded blows, but it didn't look like either side was going to win the battle.
"Y'know, I really don't appreciate someone coming into my home and starting a fight."
Justice looked a little upset while saying that, but the Demon put off an arrogant expression, aggravating Justice a little more.
"Humans were supposed to be rid of this area, so naturally, when I saw a Human kill some of my subordinates, I followed him, in order to get vengeance."
"You wouldn't be Yaldabaoth. . . would you?"
"Of course not. I'm one of his subordinates, Vine. I lead one of his armies, which helped me conquer North Lunin."
Aggravated by a subordinate of Yaldabaoth being in the same place as him, Justice immediately starts attacking him, with the intent to kill.
Vine wasn't able to block most of the hits but was still able to block some. He uses his wings to block Justice's attacks. He then uses them to start flying, his wings, that were made out of feathers starts stiffening. Not too soon after, he fires some of the feathers at Justice and Tenma.
Justice was able to deflect the hardened feathers. But just as Tenma was about to get pierced by the feathers, a forcefield-like projection protected her.
"How bold of you to attack a defenseless child."
That voice came from behind Vine. She had long blue hair and white complexion, she was holding a staff with the top part having a rose. Both Justice and Tenma knew who she was.
Kaname.
"Arian Luto!"
She aimed the staff while chanting that. The staff started glowing until it fired a beam of light straight at Vine. However, Vine, of course, blocked it with his wings.
——!
As the smoke cleared, it appeared that Vine didn't have wings anymore— Well, if it wasn't for the bones that were still left, it would appear that way. Tenma, Vine, and Justice all had the same reactions. Utter surprise.
Though Vine's reaction was more of fury, pain, and surprise combined.
"Kaname—"
Vine jumps up and tries to kick Kaname, but that was unsuccessful, as she parried the kick with her staff. After being pushed back, he fires what looked to be over a million spikes at her. In response, she waves her staff to the right, which creates a wall of light. Successfully letting her evade the attack.
Despite all that has happened, Vine had continued to remain silent. However, anyone could tell that his eyes had the word "Fury," written on them. Justice decides to get back to fighting, so he lifts up his sword. He slashes at Vine, who dodges and prepares to counterattack with his tail, but that plan comes to a stop when Kaname fires a sphere of light at him, who has no option but to dodge.
"You— You're the only one I have to fear! If I can take you out, then everything else will be easier for me!"
Like his eyes, which looked to be full of fury, his voice couldn't be any different. He stops focusing on Justice and Tenma, but starts focusing more on Kaname. He starts racing towards her. His claws were enlarged with Magic.
"Er Uina!"
She fires another ball of light at Vine. With his Magic-enhanced claws, he completely cuts the sphere into shreds. As everyone — save for Vine — remained in shock, Vine began to get closer and closer to her each second.
"Kaname!"
Justice also starts running towards Kaname, to protect her. It didn't seem like Justice was going to get to her, before Vine was finished with her.
Tenma stands up, her eyes start glowing white.
"Please. . . Just leave us alone!"
As she says that, it causes an extremely large explosion of Light. After everything becomes visible again, it appears that the explosion didn't hurt Justice or Kaname. It appeared that they have been healed. The same could not be said for Vine, though. He was covering his eyes and was screaming in pain.
"What happened . . ?"
That thought had came to both of Justice and Kaname's minds. They didn't pay any mind to that question though. Instead, they both attack mind at the same time, Justice, with his reinforced sword, and Kaname with a beam of Light.
"Augh!"
Only a scream of pain was heard. Despite their best efforts, Vine still hadn't died. Neither one of them could deal a finishing blow to him, whether it be a Magic-enhanced sword, an insanely large beam of light, or an explosion, they still couldn't kill him— or even knock him out. It didn't even seem like he was going all out, either. Perhaps this was evidence. Evidence that no one could even dare to try and defeat Yaldabaoth's army.
It was only a miracle that neither of them was killed yet. It was a miracle that they could even touch Vine. It was a miracle that they could injure Vine. If no one in this battle backs down, then it will surely end in a bloodbath for one.
"Haugh—"
Vine spits out a load of blood.
"I'll . . . get you next . . . time . . ."
He dissipates into red particles mere seconds before he fell down. He didn't die, no. It was a teleportation spell, that most demons know. Justice and the others have to prepare— prepare, or leave their home.
"He said he'll get us next time . . . does that mean we'll have to leave this place? We're no match for anything that will come next—"
Those words, that came from Kaname's mouth, haunted Justice.
