Chapter 1 - Touch

"If they aren't going to come out, we'll have to go in," Touch said, motioning for the other three to go in the house. There were five in their group including himself. Azailee A.K.A. Inducer (Touch's twin), Collect, Watcher, and the Witch. Azailee stayed outside with him, giving all four of them the feeling of invincibility they constantly were in search of; not that they needed it, each one of them had their own set of abilities. Azailee's was able to make others feel whatever emotion he/they desired, which at the moment was invincibility. Collect had the ability to take the objects of other people and then give a sense of location as to where they were, and what health they were in. Watcher had the ability to see through other's eyes, giving him the sense of what their perspective was and what they might do next. And then the Witch, who Touch wouldn't say had an ability at all. She just studied black magick, and then performed it. And his own ability was death by touch. It was fantastic, killing someone with a fingertip. He also got to decide on if they suffered, and for how long.

What Touch didn't like were the masks they each had to wear. They were all well-known, yes, but only by rumors and being seen here and there. No one knew their identities, just their alias and the design of their masks. The King advised it, and if they didn't obliged, they were killed. It was boring to Touch, probably to his brother too. They shared most feelings, some kind of twin thing. And since Azailee happened to be kicking around rocks, Touch felt the restlessness coming through that connection. Every ability had weaknesses. His brother's was that he couldn't control his, or his blood relation's, feelings. Touch's weakness was the same thing, he couldn't kill his own family by touching them.

Touch looked down to his hands, "And I have to wear these gloves, all the time."

Azailee looked at him, "Are you speaking with yourself again, brother?"

"That I am," he looked towards the house, "the screaming seems to have stopped." He glanced at Azailee and motioned to the house, "Our cue to go in?"

"I believe so. Let's get going then. I don't want to keep feeding them if I don't need to."

That's what his brother called it, feeding. Touch would have used some choice other words, but Azailee was the provider of what they wanted, what they craved; so what he said made sense. Stepping into the raggedy house Touch took notice of the wretched smell. He already had a stern talking to with Witch on the way into town. She apparently didn't listen, he'll have to make an example out of her now.

"WIIIITCCCHHH!" Touch yelled.

"WHAT!" Witch replied.

Touch followed the sound of her voice into a side room, where he found her with the old man. "What. Did. I. Say. About. Using. Fire?"

"Yes I kn--"

He cut her off, "WHAT DID I SAY?"

"Y-y-you said not to--"

"NOT TO, WHAT? SPIT IT OUT!" By this time the old man's wet eyes switched from the Witch to Touch's back pocket. He wasn't worried with Witch standing next to him anymore, he was worried about the gloves Touch just shoved into his black jeans.

Still yelling at Witch, Touch noticed that Collect came in from the backdoor with Watcher on his tail, they kept their distance, for good reasons too, as they were both quite aware of what was going to happen if they interrupted.

Collect said to Azailee, "Rest of the farm is clear. Left something in the forest for the wolves. Oh, and don't drink any of the well water."

Following his statement up, Watcher added with an insidious smile, "Won't be finding any of them. Anytime soon."

Azailee nodded and turned to his brother for a brief moment, "Are you finished or shall we spit in a cup and serve it over ice to our guest here?" He gestured to the whimpering old man.

Touch smiled, "By all means. Have fun, don't just spit in it, MAKE him drink whatever you like."
