Chapter 6 - The Test (4)

As Saiph was lead into the room that had the other contestants, she noticed that the mysterious man from before was not covered by his cloak anymore. He had tan, golden skin and chocolate brown hair. His lips were bent into a scowl and his hazel eyes looked mad. Despite how angry he looked, he looked dashing, standing in a zipped up overcoat like the one Saiph had. The boy's outfit for the test appeared to be a little bit thicker, and the guys were wearing black metallic slacks instead of silver leggings like Saiph and the rest of the girls were. Saiph guessed that he wasn't so happy about the uniform he had to wear for the test.

The young man from the train walked up to her, "Hey, what do you think the test is going to be like? By the way, I still don't know your name."

"My name is Saiph, yours?"

"I'm Andrew, you can just call me Drew though."

"Nice to meet you again Drew. Good job on passing the tests. I think the next test might be like the ones online, but more advanced."

"Oh, like those personality tests?"

"Yeap. Let's go and get to know the other people."

Andrew and Saiph walked over to Lavender, who was talking to the two blonde twins.

"Hey Lavender," said Saiph, "This is Andrew, I met him on the train to the city. "

"Oh hey Saiph! Hello Andrew, nice to meet you, my name is Lavender and my favorite color is purple. These two are Amelia and Emelia. Amelia specializes in fire magic and Emelia specializes in ice magic."

Amelia, who was wearing red, pouted, "Lavender, you can't just say that! I was trying to remain mysterious. Now that you all know my specialty you should tell me yours."

Saiph sighed," I don't know my specialty, but I can do some void and wind magic."

"I'm an earth priest so I specialize in light magic," said Andrew.

Earth priests were priests that believed in Gaia. Gaia was the Greek personification of Earth.

Lavender raised her eyebrows, "Earth priests and void magicians aren't very common."

"There aren't many spells or teachers out there for either, but I chanced upon some spells and taught myself," lied Saiph. In reality, she found some void spells from a target she had assassinated and from rewards.

"My family had me tutored under an earth guardian since I have a high compatibility with the earth elements," said Andrew.

Lavender gasped, " So you must be the Adler boy, the genius young master!"

The twins immediately stared at him in shock. Andrew scoffed, "Please, why are you shocked, you two are the princesses of the Dawnfel kingdom! Raised and nurtured by the royal family with great potential!"

"Wow, all three of you have very high statuses. At least Lavender and I are normal."

Lavender let out a sheepish laugh, "Ever heard of the Artensi family?" Saiph shook her head. Lavender sighed, " We trade and manufacture half of this continent's goods."

Saiph sank to the floor, "Gosh, I feel so out of place."

Lavender patted her shoulder sympathetically, "Well, this is the best school in all of the continents, so of course, all of the big shots or geniuses are going to gather here."

Suddenly, a hologram appeared in the air above their heads. On it was a list.

"Rules

1. Be honest about your decisions.

2. Make the right decisions.

3. NEVER LIE.

You have 4 hours to get to the top of the tower where you will be judged. Each decision you make influences your next choice and your future. Please stand on one of the numbers on the floor. You will be lowered into a weapon room. A guide will be in your room dressed in blue. Now please, proceed to the numbers."

Saiph waved goodbye to the rest and went to stand on a number. It was number 13. 'How ominous she thought, good thing that it's my lucky number," she thought as she was lowered into the ground. A chamber that was filled with weapons came into her view as she reached the bottom. She noticed a blue hooded person standing in the middle of the chamber. The figure gestured to the array of weapons and held up three fingers, signaling that only three weapons were to be chosen.

For her first weapon, Saiph chose a grey gun. It was sleek and modern, part of a new series that came out recently last month. It used bullets that were poisoned, explosive, and two times faster than the guns that were used before the "Awakening" thanks to the smoother mechanics of the gun, more aerodynamic bullets, and the mini wind spells added to them. It came with 4 extra rounds and was already loaded.

She also chose a silencer for the gun which counted as the second weapon. She checked the gun, making sure the safety was on and that nothing was jammed before shoving it onto one of her coat's dimensional pockets.

For her last weapon, Saiph chose a sharp silver dagger. It had good balance and came with a sheath that could be clipped to her waistband. Saiph slashed with it, only silence was heard as it cut through the air, leaving a silver streak behind. She smiled and sheathed it in the sheath that was clipped to her side.

Saiph was lead to an old-fashioned elevator that had been in use before the "Awakening". Elevators currently had titanium doors and could teleport to different floors without any kind of weird feeling.

There were only three buttons on the elevator's panel. One for opening, one for closing, and one for level 1.

Saiph waved goodbye to the hooded guide before stepping into the elevator and pressing the button for the first floor.
