Chapter 1 - Daddy's Dodge

As always, drones whizzed overhead, their constant presence a reminder of the hustle and bustle of Everbrook. Hideyoshi Bunker firmly pressed down on the accelerator, determined to escape the relentless activity that surrounded him. He yearned for a moment of solace, a temporary respite from the ceaseless commotion of the city. With each skillful maneuver through the intricate web of streets, he distanced himself from the cacophony of the city center. Gradually, the familiar sights gave way to the outskirts, where a semblance of tranquility beckoned.

Finally, he arrived at a town suspended in time, an echo of a bygone era—the turn of the 21st century. Stepping out of his car, a cool breeze caressed his face, carrying with it a gentle whisper of nostalgia. This place, untouched by the relentless march of progress, held a profound significance for him. It was a sanctuary he had sought refuge in countless times before. Closing the car door, he leaned against its hood, savoring a moment of reflection. "I never had the chance to drive his Dodge," he mused, his hand tenderly caressing the car's surface. "So I got my own, Dad." With a slight smile, he tapped the car with both hands before pushing himself away.

It only took a few steps for Hideyoshi to question the wisdom of embarking on a leisurely stroll through the quiet streets at such a late hour. Although momentarily invigorated by the change of scenery, fatigue had already begun to reassert its grip on his body and mind, threatening to overwhelm him once more. He raised his gaze upward, contemplating the possibility of seeking guidance from the stars—a peculiar notion for a scientist, he quietly acknowledged.

"That should be Andromeda," he murmured, a knot forming in his throat. "Rebecca's favorite..." Memories of her resurfaced, intertwining with a potent blend of longing and melancholy.

Weary and introspective, Hideyoshi reclined on the grass, his thoughts and emotions merging into a single stream. He surrendered himself to the embrace of this bittersweet mood, drifting in and out of conscious awareness. "Daddy's Dodge..." he whispered with a tender smile, as the allure of the past gently carried him away.
