"Disperse, disperse! There is no danger here!"
As he 'coolly' barked his order, Ye Mo could feel his face heating up.
That brat! Could she not stay put in one place? Could he not leave her by herself even for a couple of hours?
What was Wu Xuan'er thinking, letting this troublemaker run off on her own?!
One had to know that his temporary manor and this part of the forest were quite a distance from each other, one being in the central part of the sect territory where the spiritual qi gathered the most, while the other was located in the farthest, most isolated and most desolate side of the sect where the spiritual qi was even thinner than those in the areas outside of Leaf City.
How Little Yin managed to get here and land herself in this situation, Ye Mo could not even find enough brain cells to start understanding.
Only one thing was for sure—he was going to have a splitting headache after this!
After last night's infiltration, here comes another situation that would put him in a tight spot as the elder in charge of defense and security. As if he wasn't already not seeing eye to eye with those from the elders belonging to the Li faction.
What a dilemma!
"Yes, Tenth Elder!"
"We shall now take our leave, Tenth Elder!"
As he was the one in charge of their training, those elite disciples under his Battle Court would not doubt him, at least not on the surface.
After bowing to him, all Battle Court disciples left as if it was the most natural thing to do so, not even giving a second glance at that towering soul-suppressing array.
But what about the other people? The ordinary inner disciples observing right now? Those protectors and deacons affiliated with the other elders? Not to mention, those who came from the Li Clan?
They were leaving as well, but they surely would be wagging tongues about him forcefully making them leave!
No danger?
Just seeing the size of this array was enough confirmation of its might!
Even right now, standing several yards away from it, Ye Mo could feel his divine sense getting listless. So how could there be no danger?
Only those from Battle Court, who he had personally trained and who had blindly followed him due to their unwavering loyalty and trust, would believe this 'no danger' bullshit!
However, he was not really worried about this array causing a problem to the Ye Sect. That brat was inside. Oddly, that fact guaranteed him peace of mind.
His intuition was telling him that Little Yin would deal with this completely all on her own.
Illogical, but his intuition had never failed him so far.
Ye Mo had known her capable of doing so many miraculous things, she's so bright it blinded his titanium dog eyes (1) but of course, he would never ever let her know that.
However, it only meant she had dealt with things pretty fine so far—as long as Ye Mo cleans up the rest, there would be no real issue and damage to the Ye Sect.
Turning around with a sigh, Ye Mo cupped his hands in front of him as he faced the delegates from the Imperial Capital.
How to deal with them?
"The sect has let the honored guests see a joke. You must be laughing at us for getting so worked up over such a minor thing," Ye Mo forced a polite smile. "Let this elder apologize in the name of the sect by inviting you over for a simple meal at my residence. I hope the Purple Plumed General would not despise such humble arrangement."
Minor? Minor your sister! If this was considered a minor thing, then he nothing short of sect destruction would pass off as major!
As the Tenth Elder of the Ye Sect, Ye Mo could easily order the members of the sect to leave this area and instruct them to suppress the information so that rumors of this event would not spread beyond the upper echelon of the sect.
However, with the presence of the Purple Plumed General, it would be hard for him to apply the same to these outsiders.
He could only sigh. He had been sighing so much lately...
Little Yin was someone he guaranteed to the Patriarch and the Elders in the Assembly Hall, and although everyone had feared her mysterious background, he knew that all those were paper tigers — something fabricated in order to protect her.
She had not even told him anything about her real background. As it would be suicidal to treat her like an ordinary kid, Ye Mo sensed that when the time comes she wanted to talk, she would find him. Otherwise, it would be hard to pry information out of that stubborn mouth even if he were to offer her more tanghulu.
No secrets could be kept forever. Sooner or later, everyone would get suspicious. They would discover that Little Yin was simply a girl with an astounding cultivation and that… she was nothing more than that.
Ye Mo remembered seeing her for the first time in the forest. A girl no more than five years old covered in blood.
Had it only been several days since then?
"Tenth Elder is too polite, but this general would have to decline for now. I will have to go pay a visit with the Wu family today and I am afraid the Wu Family Head is already waiting for my arrival."
The Purple Plumed General was a smart person. She understood that Ye Mo was hinting for them to leave. After all, despite them being delegates from the Imperial Capital, they did not come in the name of the Imperial family, but the military.
As such, they were outsiders and should refrain from publicly putting their hands on the inner issues of the influences under the protection of the Imperial Qing.
It would be bad for the Imperial family's reputation if word got out that they meddled unnecessarily and impartially with the situations and power balance of great families or big sects.
Ye Mo inwardly sighed in relief. He smiled a genuine smile. "Let this elder accompany you out. I would like to ask for an advice or two as well, as I've heard that the Purple Plumed General is an expert of the sword."
He then gestured for them to start walking. No way he would let them stay here for any second longer.
Just as they turned around, they heard a frantic voice behind them.
"Young Master Qing! What are you doing? Stop! Don't —"
Ye Mo witnessed an old black-robed man grabbing the air in front of him... and a few steps in front of him, beyond the milky dome of blue mist that even he feared as a Nascent Divinity Realm expert, a fragile-looking mortal boy was standing in a daze.
The boy had entered the array!
