"I hate you!!!"
Those three words echoed loudly in the empty hallways leading to Zhu Wei's medicinal garden. Yin even tried to push and wriggle herself out Shangguan Ke's arms, even managing to land the soles of her feet on his bearded face. On his left cheek, there was a slightly wet tiny footprint.
For a second, the three old men were too astounded to move.
Audacious!
Completely audacious!
A little mortal kid was kicking the face of Ming Yue Sect's exalted Patriarch! And it looked like she did not care a wit that she's trampling on her own grandfather!
How dirty are a person's feet? What do they represent? If news were to get around, even if she's supposed to be his only descendant, it would have been completely a humiliation to him and the sect! He would become the laughing stock of Leaf City for years!
Shangguan Ke was angered to the point he could vomit blood!
"Yingyue!" he growled. "You unfilial brat!"
"Wu wu... I hate you. I'm leaving! I want to go back home!"
Of course, no matter how Yin struggled, she could not loosen the old man's grip on her. Her fleshly body was extremely weak, even after being cured and strengthened by many heavenly treasures and medicinal herbs.
With proper medication, it would take her days to completely heal. Still, even at her peak, how strong is a mortal toddler compared to a shameless old man several realms into the path of cultivation?
This was also the reason why Ming Yue Sect is not stringent with her companions and guards, letting her stay inside the hot springs with only one person to serve her.
Zhu Wei, whose belly was already full of grievance for having to provide the herbs he had meticulously cultivated, sneered at the tantrum-throwing girl. "Home? This is your home! This is where you belong! You don't even have your parents anymore. Who could you rely on? Do you want to leave here? Let alone escaping, ask me first if I'll allow you to leave this hall! How could I heal you for free, you little freak?"
Yan Yu glared at him, obviously discontent with his words. Though both of them were Great Elders of Ming Yue Sect, the two of them were often than not stepping on each other's tails, unable to see eye to eye.
"What are you shouting at? You think you're helping?" Yan Yue berated. "You think scaring a little girl will make her be obedient to you? You are so old, yet you are lowering yourself to fight a kid. No wonder you're still unmarried at this age. You are really bad at dealing with people. You're such a stinky old fart. Go marry your plants and leave the child alone!"
Then, he turned to Shangguan Ke and Yin. He then softened his expression as he tried to teach the little girl. "Yue'er, be a good little girl and apologize to your grandpa. The two of you are family. Yingyue is such a nice name. He means you well."
But Yin refused to budge.
"Hmf!" She crossed her arms and narrowed her arms. "Niu'er is Niu'er!"
"How about this," Shangguan Ke finally relented. He felt much regret that he was the one assigned to be her relative, "I'll call you Yingyue in front of people, but when we're alone, you are still Niu'er."
Yin merely pouted, not saying anything. Shangguan Ke laughed it off and they all continued their way towards the medicinal garden.
She muttered under her breath. "Once they're here, I'll tell my papa and his Church that you are bullying me and my mama. Let me see how he punishes you!"
The three glanced at each other, finding it funny. Papa? Church? Is that a sect? But they had never heard of any church within Qing Blessed Lands. Besides, wasn't she an orphan? If there were people coming for her, there would have been news already since it had been two days since she was found by Ye Mo.
With the current turmoil happening along the territory of Qing Blessed Lands, security had been strict and communication had been heightened in order to unite the tiered cities and the capital against the brewing trouble brought about by demonic cultivators and those rogue cultivators who were fishing for benefits along the way.
If she was indeed part of a big sect or a powerful family, there would have been some news by now. Even if she's not an orphan, if her real family were to come and they were just some small third-rate power, would they dare fight against the Ming Yue Sect at the cost of extermination?
Was she not clear that she's all by herself now, with no one to rely on?
In a few minutes, they found themselves in front of a large bronze mirror. Zhu Wei made a few strange gestures before letting a drop of his blood enter the mirror.
Shangguan Ke amiably smiled at her. "We're entering a pocket dimension. Do you know what that means? It means it is in a separate space, like a mini-world. Your Grandpa Zhu's garden is a highly secretive area because it holds countless treasures. It is much, much larger inside. You'll understand once we enter. Hold tightly on grandpa. You might get dizzy."
Yin clutched onto the lapel of his robe, not because she was obedient, but because she was excited.
A pocket dimension! Rare herbs and expensive medicine must be planted inside!
She thought what she had seen with her divine sense earlier in the Treasury were all the wealth this place had. Truth be told, their values are merely so-so. Maybe that Treasury was only meant for ordinary disciples. She was only thinking of getting 'interest' for the sake of paying off the graciousness and the debt of life-saving from Ye Mo, Ye Hua and Wu Xuan'er.
But now, she was truly stimulated by the idea of getting some heavenly treasures that could help her in her future cultivation.
Here comes the big fish!
Let's see who would be conning who. She couldn't wait to get rich!
