"This..."
It would be reasonable to change the animation to show that the record was made by [HuaXiang Records]; however, if the trademark of the record had to be changed to [HuaXiang] as well, the people who bought them would assume this was a work of HuaXiang Company. Who would even remember [Sparrow Records]?
In fact, Zhou Yi not only wanted this business, he also wanted to use it as some sort of publicity for the company so that he could take more orders in the future.
He did not expect that the boss who looked so young would actually act so harshly. There was basically nothing to say.
However, if he promised him, wouldn't that mean that the two parties would have changed from a cooperative relationship to one of superior and subordinate? What was the difference between this and working for him?
In addition to getting paid, the entire Sparrow Company didn't get any gimmicks at all. It could even be said that Sparrow Company would be the behind-the-scenes branch of HuaXiang Entertainment.
If he didn't agree with him though, who else could bring a business worth more than four million to the company?
Ugh!
Money - this thing really was the bane and joy of people's lives!
After thinking about it, Zhou Yi finally managed to make up his mind as he reluctantly agreed: "Well, since Boss Zhang has spoken, we can only agree. We hope to have a happy cooperation this time!"
"Same here."
Zhang Xiaohua felt slightly happy because he could already see the birth of a huge music dream factory in the near future. In addition, this dream factory was destined to belong to HuaXiang Entertainment. At this moment, he had just successfully taken a step closer to it.
In order to not let Zhou Yi change his mind, Zhang Xiaohua tried to calm his mind and buried his head into work, and he printed out two contracts. The terms were all written according to what was agreed with Zhou Yi before. It was another devilish slave contract which took complete advantage of the other party once again.
Looking at the contents of the contract, Zhou Yi's heart was bleeding, but he knew there was no other way. In the face of profits, anything else was insignificant; therefore, no matter how unfair the content of this contract was, he had to sign it to save his company.
However, Zhou Yi had a feeling of something bugging him in the back of his mind, so he asked Zhang Xiaohua, "I don't understand why you wanted to cooperate with us. Those three companies were clearly stronger than our company, so why...?"
Zhang Xiaohua smiled confidently. He seemed to have expected that Zhou Yi would ask this question, so he smoothly answered, "Don't all big companies start small at one point? Since they can grow, why can't we?"
"Yeah, that makes sense!" Zhou Yi nodded. Obviously Zhang Xiaohua's answer was very satisfying to him. He then took out his own pen, brushed the paper two times, and signed his name on the contract. This could be regarded as selling both himself and the company to Zhang Xiaohua.
It was reasonable to say that the successful cooperation between the two companies should have been a matter of great pleasure. However, except for Zhang Xiaohua, everyone else looked apathetic and uninspired as though they had just lost a lot of money. None of them felt optimistic about this cooperation.
"What happened to the boss? Why did he do this?"The sad looking Emma whispered to Yuan Datong.
With three top record companies being dismissed, he finally chose an obscure small company to sign a contract with.
"Who knows? Since this guy wants to do it, then let him do it. I'd like to see what will happen." Yuan Datong also had a lost and confused face.
"Well, you lot should go back and prepare the equipment for the music video. I'll be responsible for the filming. Afterwards, I'll inform you, and we will start our cooperation. Anyway, let's make an album as soon as possible." Zhang Xiaohua ordered.
"Okay. I shall leave and prepare on my side then."
After Zhou Yi left the building, Zhang Xiaohua used the memory of his previous life to describe the music video. He then printed six copies and distributed them to Yuan Datong and the rest of the team and told them, "According to your instructions which I have written down here, everyone will split up and prepare. While Wang Jingwen is still popular, we must act quickly, understand?"
Everyone finally found some motivation as they took actions and went their separate ways to start the setting up according to Zhang Xiaohua's request.
Meanwhile, Zhang Xiaohua took Wang Jingwen to the mall and bought several sets of clothes out of his own pocket in order as preparation for the music video.
......
At the same time.
Manager Xu had already returned to the New Century Entertainment Company and was standing in front of the desk of the General Manager's Office. He was there to report to the General Manager about what had occurred in the meeting at HuaXiang.
Seated opposite to Manager Xu was a young girl. In fact, there was a huge difference in age between the young girl and Manager Xu. Her face was full of heavy makeup, and her hands were crossed over her chest in a gesture of superiority; she was none other than Cao Feifei.
After Cao Dequan took over the company, he put Cao Feifei in the position of general manager. Although many felt unsatisfied, due to Cao Dequan's high position in the company, they dared not openly speak out.
The reason Cao Dequan gave his daughter a job as general manager was to try to prove one thing: this company was now under the control of his Cao family. Therefore, regardless if it was the Chairman, the General Manager, or any important position, it must be occupied by a member of the Cao family. He had great aspirations to develop the company into a 'family-style management.'
However, in the eyes of the company's shareholders, this Cao Feifei was nothing but a nominal decoration. She had no virtue nor talent, but she had no need for these considering her only use within the company was monitoring the employees for Cao Dequan. Once she suspected that someone was unfaithful to the company, she would immediately tell Cao Dequan, and he would take the opportunity to exercise his power and eliminate any dissidents.
After listening to Manager Xu's report, Cao Feifei suddenly changed her face and rushed toward Manager Xu, she was displeased. "Are you so old that you can't even deal with a small company? What was the use of spending so much money to raise you? I think you are getting old and useless!"
Faced with Cao Feifei's rude reprimand, Manager Xu just silently lowered his head. He displayed no emotions as if he had already become accustomed to this situation.
"Who is the boss of the company? To actually be so arrogant that even our company wasn't enough to enter his eyes..." Cao Feifei eyes were full of hidden resentment.
Manager Xu, actually, was a veteran in the company. According to his seniority, Cao Feifei had to call him 'Uncle'.
Yet, since the day Cao Feifei came to the company, Manager Xu had never heard her call him 'Uncle'. All he heard were her complaints and disrespect towards him. She was completely unrestrained and disrespectful.
For this reason, Manager Xu felt like quitting his job several times, but he could not do so. Manager Xu could only endure, since he had a whole family depending on him for food and clothing.
"The other party's boss is just a young man. He just got involved in this line of business, so he doesn't understand many rules. I'll let him go this time as it seems to me that his small company will not last very long. Soon it will be done for and go bankrupt."
Manager Xu had apparently told a lie, he hadn't revealed Zhang Xiaohua's identity as the company's boss, nor the threats he had made...
The reason why he did this was to allow Zhang Xiaohua to stay hidden, to secretly develop and to teach this Cao family a cruel lesson.
Zhang Xiaohua's father was extremely generous to him. He still remembered the care and dedication that man had shown towards this company and the staff. One night, he had worked overtime and on his way out, he had glimpsed the boss deep asleep amidst a stack of files. That night was still vivid in his mind. Walking toward him to wake him up, he noticed an email from one of the employees who had gone off on leave to care for his ill mother. The boss had not only attempting to complete his work for him, he even put him on the list to be given a bonus.
For this reason, Manager Xu secretly helped Zhang Xiaohua, knowing full well that he was risking his job. He felt that, while he may allow his pride to be stepped on by this Cao family, he wouldn't allow his integrity to be corrupted.
If the Cao family members knew that the HuaXiang Entertainment Company was run by Zhang Xiaohua, considering the Cao family's style of work, they would surely do everything in their power to deal with Zhang Xiaohua.
This was not the result Manager Xu wanted to see.
"Well, there is nothing more to be said on this matter." Cao Feifei looked coldly at Manager Xu. She reproached him in the tone of a leader: "Mr. Xu, the company has rules that must be obeyed, I think you know this. Today, sadly, you failed to meet our expectations, so you can not blame me for being ruthless. As punishment, your bonus for this month will be forfeited. I hope you can make progress in the future and not lose face for the company. We are not some third-rate small company, we cannot afford to lose."
Manager Xu, after a moment, spat out a faint sentence: "Can I go now?"
Cao Feifei briskly motioned for him to get out.
When Manager Xu's footsteps faded from outside of the office, Cao Feifei immediately revealed her true colours., She had instantly changed from the high-ranking general manager to a prodigal daughter. She quickly turned the computer monitor back on and continued shopping online; her browsing tabs full of high-class brand names.
Of course, no matter how much she spent, the company would eventually pay for her expenses. This was commonly known as 'funds reimbursement'!
