THE DAWNING OF DUSK – PROLOGUE

Chapter – Prologue

In the year 2020, beneath the cascading sands that had recently revealed an ancient structure that had been buried beneath the ancient dry wastes. Three figures creep through the silent musky corridor. The only sound was the skittering of a small beast that still lurked in the forgotten area

"Jamison, are you sure we should be down this far." The smallest of the men said, his torch burning brightly as his shadow cascaded down the endless corridors and walls, his blond hair bleached from the constant sun battering down onto his long unkempt hair. His blue bright eyes roaming around as his fear was getting to him again.

"Quiet Saxon, Do you understand how old this place is, thousands of years. If we manage to find any artefacts then our names will be remembered in all the history books" Jamison replied as his own eyes held nothing but wonder and mystery, his tall figure dwarfing that of his companions, his unshaven face full with beard and his messy brown hair unkempt as he looked closer to a lumber then an actual explorer.

The third man having not spoken during this time, covered in head to toe with cloth, his dark green eyes shining out with his dark skin hidden below, his attention was more weary than the nervous nature of Saxon or the Inquisitive mood of Jamison.

Each of these men entering into the tomb as they looked at the strange sight, all the walls covered in a shining blue glow, the circular room spiralling up to a point. Coming down from that point was three intertwined metal bars that would come to a large hanging sphere that was chiselled with strange glyph and writings. The sphere was suspended roughly six-foot from the floor.

Jamison was the first to enter, his eyes glowing with need as he rushed over to the center, his breath taken away as she looked over the symbols. "Amazing, I've never seen anything like this. The structure is older than recorded history but the materials are not something humans could have done at this time period.. " His own hands a flurry as he started to sketch into the brown leather tomb he carried around, his heart ablaze with lust for knowledge as he continued his work.

Saxon was the final one into the room, while the third man was looking around, snapping pictures. He was making his way to the suspended sphere, he could hear faint whispers, almost like children whispering into his ears, his foot steps slowly drifting as he started to drag his heels across the dry stone floor, his body slamming into the sphere

The other two would gasp, approaching towards him but it was too late, Saxon would look up towards both men with a smile crossing between his cheeks, his glowing bright green eyes shining a sickly green hue out in the darkness, his childish laughs echoing into the cavern as he would turn one of the metal disks on the hanging metal sphere, arcane blue light flooding into the chamber.

"This world will be reborn… Into the age of Arcanum!"
