Chapter 14 - It's always been her

After he ran across Edwin, Murat felt stressed, and he stomped into the basketball court with a scowl on his face. Murat turned around when he heard footsteps behind him.

"I don't have any objection to play with losers, so ...let's begin. If I win, I will have her, otherwise, you can have her."Edwin said with a wide smirk playing on his lips.

"Done!"Murat snarled and shot the basketball at him.

The hoop is mounted ten feet above the ground and the court is 94 feet long and 50 feet wide.

The game started with a tip-off.

Edwin caught the ball and advanced, dribbling the ball while bouncing the ball repeatedly whilst still in motion. Murat defended the ball by being in between the ball and the hoop. In a swift moment, the ball is in Murat's hand.

"Is she that good in...that you are fighting with me?" Edwin said in a mocking tone, trying to defend the ball.

"Shut your trash mouth!" Murat growled.

Without giving him chance to defend, Murat shot the ball into the hoop, without even glancing at it.

"Barking dogs seldom bite!" Murat said and then he took a sharp breath and continued "We are just friends, don't assume things and don't ever mess with her!"

He wants to protect her. So this is what he can say. Now that the things between him and Edwin are not as they were two years ago, he will never let Edwin know that he still likes Elena.

It's always been her!

Edwin gave a sarcastic smile.

"Friends! Ya sure!" his voice has an annoyed edge.

"Listen! Whatever that had happened two years ago, is related to us. Don't drag innocent people in our swedge." Murat said, fighting hard to stay serene.

....

At the same time, in the Electronics class, Elena is glancing at the entrance for him to arrive. It's almost time for the next period, but he didn't show up. Her professor is asking her questions. But she is in deep thoughts.

"Elena!Elena!" Her professor cried out.

"He isn't here yet!" She blurted out, gaining the attention of the class.

The whole class burst into laughter.

Elena looked away and cleared her throat, embarrassed by her conduct.

"I am sorry sir" She apologized.

"Concentrate on the class! Don't get distracted." Her professor warned her.

She tried hard to concentrate on the class, but she couldn't help herself. She glanced at the door once in a while.

When she thought he probably would not attend the class, she heard footsteps and turned towards the door in anticipation.

Everyone started whispering as Edwin walked in with a smirk playing on his bruised lips, yet looking godly handsome. Boys gave a snarl of jealous anger and girls swooned over him.

"Oww!! He is so handsome!!

"Damn! Where did he get that body from!!"

.....

"Class! Maintain silence!" The professor yelled at the students.

"Sir, there isn't any student who is named as class!!" One of the girls blurted out.

Students chortled silently not to offend their professor. The professor shook his head and continued the class.

Edwin walked to Elena's desk and took a seat beside her. Elena didn't expect him to take a seat beside her.

She moved aside leaving space between them.

"Are you listening to the class?" He whispered into her ear, with a playful smile.

"Mmmm..." She said without glancing at the guy.

"Do you think moaning is good during class? I don't mind though," Edwin said, smirking.

Elena shot him deadly look and turned to concentrate on class.

"Did anyone compliment you that, you are stunning when you are feisty." He whispered in his low husky voice.

"Do you wanna die?" She said gritting her teeth and darted a sly sideways glance at him.

All at once, Murat walked in, as if he had just walked out of the shower.

"Oh, my lovely god!! Does our college cultivate handsome guys!!" the girls shrieked.

"I am totally into him!" A girl blurted out loud.

...

Hearing girls shrieking at Murat, boys harbored envy towards him.

"I am a sorry professor," Murat apologized and took a seat on the other side of Elena.

Practically, Elena sat between them. She felt her heart may bounce out anytime. Flush creeping her neck, yet she tried to be indifferent.
