"50! No more! No less!"
A rather wealthy man stood near the podium.
People groaned, the man bidded on another item once more. This time it was two female daughters who're beautiful beyong belief, only comparable of that to Elven Beauties.
Among the groups of that he purchased, two distinct brothers were still held in hand, and also in shackles.
They hadn't had much resistance when together and fought to stay with one another.
Previously the slave guard tried to pry them apart to sell them, but the auctioneer ranted.
"For crying out loud get the next one already!"
"But sir, they don't seem to want to separate..."
He slammed his hand on the table, "Just sell them as a couple!"
After that, they were just chained together, and a hard metal chain to also go around their wings.
"Brother, what is going to happen to us?"
He looked up to his brother, who'd cared for him in the meantime as his mother was absent for just two months.
"Don't worry, we'll be ok." Resolute eyes were on his face as he said so, no matter what had to be done, he'd at least assure his brother's safety over his own.
He was ready to defend against all odds as he arrived at the base of the oak podium.
"These are a new batch from just a hour ago, they sell for just around 20 wads, you won't get a deal better than this! Starting at 20 and increments go from 5!"
"20!"
"25"
"30!"
"35"
"40"
.
.
."95!"
"Going once! Going twice! Sold to Buffet!"
"Che, not another one! He already got all the other ones, when can WE start getting them?"
"Filthy commoner, go somewhere else if you feel unhappy, I'm certainly enjoying my time here, why don't you?"
Buffet scoffed it off as a mere squabble of a lowly commoner.
"You...I'll show yo-"
"Stop it lad, he is one of the only merchants that come and buy our crops, don't do anything harsh..."
"...Fine." He crossed his arms together.
A number of twenty five children were among the crowd that Buffet had just bought.
Numbers of carts already arrived shrotly after theirs, many were still lined up.
After buying another, he thought it was time.
"Come on! Get them in the carriage, we're going!"
Some of the armored men in the back followed suit with the line of children being directed to another caged cart.
They took off to another unknown stretch of road.
The journey would last how much it was needed to.
Hours go by and hours soon became days.
They continued on, giving them minimal water and food crumbs to eat.
During some road stops where they had to station near the side of the road, the guards would stay and watch over the young'uns as the merchant would eat luxuriously.
They were eating lunch near the door, eating what seemed to be mouldy bread and some stew.
All the children in the cart longed for good food, like before where they'd eat the selection of fruits and fish. One of the men noticed this, and took a miniscule peice of meat from his tray.
He waved it around and the eyes of many followed. He smirked and continued doing it.
One of the children couldn't bear it anymore, the once pure nature of the child was broken. The man showed a devious smile and placed it in his mouth with a grin. He closed his eyes due to the flavor and the savory smoked chunks in the potato stew. All the eyes in the carriage looked down. They didn't know how much longer they could hold without food.
The night goes on, the only thing visible within the cage was the barred sky, forewarning them of the allure of the sky, longing for the Niphel to fly once more, but the cage and their sealed wings could do not. Days go by and they finally received their rations. Some of the kids remained motionless as the rest began feasting on the few crumbs they received. They were only given enough for them to survive the trip, but due to the death of some of the children, they received bigger portions than they were supposed to. The guard giving out the food narrowed his eyes looking at the motionless kids. He unlocked the gate with one of the various keys he had and took his limp body by the wrist. The body was dragged over the iron ridge of the gate, leaving a scar, small droplets of blood was smearing the floor as he was dragged on. The smell of blood made everyone unsettled, the sweet aroma it gave off.
One of the children defecated himself during the whole trip, it was inevitable as none of the kids weren't given times to go do their businesses, the smell was the most horrific of the trip, the next stop, a man gave them a brush and a small satchel of water to clean up the mess, to this day, the smell came along with it and most children began growing sick of it, and becoming sick of it as well. Of the 27 kids including him and his brother, thirteen had fallen ill as their face became pale and their body quivering from the cold sores. Their feces became white and it was common, the men gave them buckets for their troubles but the spread was imminent, even he received it. The nights were horrible as the night goes on, his little brother cared all he could for him but it was all coming to an end. The trip was finished. The casualties already exceeded more than half of the one's that were bought.
The guards took out a body, and one of grief looked on as the body was dragged away.
Leaving the rest relieved and gasping for the fresh air.
It was a manor overlooking a yard. Fields were laid all around and the high castle walls were plain.
The trees were all part of a massive wall built using logs on top one another. a monument was built around the front of the manor.
It clearly said.
Blairwood Manor
