"Fine, meet me at my Balcony in five. Bryson please see what my mother knows about Glen. I got this." Kyera ordered running the last few steps to her room. The dress was on the floor before the door had time to close. Her armor fit like a glove, no corset no undershirt, just pure leather on skin. Her claws elongated and the shadows swirled her hair into braids and wound it into place on the back of her head.
Clovis opened the door to the bedroom just in time to see his wife leap off the balcony and fly off on Ivory. He gripped the railing, his heart dark with worry, no orders, no idea what she wanted him to do. On his own… well not quite. He turned and left the balcony without another thought.
Ivory flew to the border without orders, an army of maybe 300 men were marching in formation; white, every one of them dressed in white and silver. Kyera felt a lump of unease in her stomach, churning around in a mix of confusion and unease.
"Ivory, land." Kyera called out and the dragon swooped lower in compliance. As she did the soldiers came to a halt, waiting for her to land. As she did two soldiers on white bears with large, beautiful wings and faces like Owls came to meet her.
"Princess Kyera, we come in peace in the bame of the fallen mother, Kathry." Called a knight quickly, knowing full well Ivory could wipe them out in one maybe two breaths. You didn't fight dragons in the open for a reason.
"I see, who sent you in her Memory?" Called Kyera back her mind wanting nothing more than to leave. She had to find Gale.
"I am here of my own decision, Princess Kyera. I ask you allow us to repay your understanding with action and our past failing with correction." Viren began but Kyera raised her hand to stop him.
"As much as this should be a time for pleasantries it is not. They have my son." Kyera told him, cutting the words short. He looked concerned though not surprised.
"My spy had thought they were going after Clovis… not Gale. Damn damn damn. Look we are here to help. Tell us what you need?" Viren replied casting the pleasantries aside as well. Kyera frowned.
"You have an insider?" She asked raising a brow.
"Yes, that's why we were headed to you. Flying would have been faster but the dragons… yea" he trailed off deciding it better not to explain just now.
"We have to find my son." Kyera replied tears in her eyes even as she tried to force them back. It was so cold… did he even have a blanket? Did they feed him? All these worries raced through her mind.
"You can't ride after them now. If my sources are correct they wish to use him as bait. Bait works much less effectively if it is not alive. Come, let's gather your forces, my spy will not let harm come to your kin." Viren instantly nodded to his men. "May we fly?" He asked looking at her and Kyera nodded.
"Yes. My palace is close by. The village will provide space for your men's encampment. Come." Kyera urged Ivory back into the air, and the army on owlbears and pegasus took to the air following her lead. Soon they arrived at the palace. Bryson and Reever stood outside one shaking with rage the other calmly overlooking the landing party.
"Prince Viren, son of the Ice Queen Kathry of the Snow Phoenix Kingdom is lending his army and services against the Dark Ones. I granted him and his men entry." Kyera explained as she dismounted from Ivory and Reever nodded,
his eyes gentler than normal.
"Welcome, come with me to settle in. Bryson needs to speak to his granddaughter." Reever jumped in, instantly guiding the soldiers to the training grounds to set up camp. Viren went with him, to settle his men down. Bryson was shaking with anger, the steam rising from his skin hinted at how close he was to losing control.
