"I would have destroyed her and after she was dead I would have come after anyone connected to you I could touch with my brothers at my side." Kendrick admitted as he smiled at his little sister. Then his smile fell. Kyera's eyes were closed and her expression was blank. She was awake, and stood stable but something was very wrong.
"You sent your minions to kill my children and dare blame me!" Roared the Shadow King as black Raging magic poured from him but was quickly drank in by the cuffs on his wrists. The metal would simply redirect the magic back into his body, no harm done.
"Yes. I did and there is no law against it. Ironic that the one time you stood your ground was against me, and not to save your children." Fate laughed wickedly. "And now your Grandson's fate belongs to me." She added, savoring the words with every fiber of her being.
The room grew dark and cold as a raven snuffed out the fire. Lady Death had finally joined the family reunion. "I will not sanction his fate." She growled throwing the Weaver Cloth at her feet, the string dangling from it pulsing with his life light.
"You dare fight me too, Raven? You were nothing until I gave you a reason in life!" The Goddess of Fate's growl was low and threatening but tears fell from the Raven's eyes. There was a brokenness to his sisters features that tore at The Shadow King and he fought against the band's on his wrists feeling the metal crack.
"I will not condemn a child to murder his mother you treacherous snake." Screeched the raven with every ounce of feeling in her body. The room went deadly silent. No one was able to break, Clovis jerked his arm free of his Brother in Law anger in his eyes.
"You dare threaten my family? Fate my son to murder his mother? How… why would you do something so cruel?" He demanded, well aware he could not harm her even if he threw everything he had into it, but a burning hate for this creature blossomed in his heart.
"The fate is part of the fabric of life. Each life weaves its own tale. I only supply the cloth to be read. Blame his blood for the betrayal of your son." Demanded Lady Fate who looked as though she had been wrong. Deep in those eyes however, there was a perverse pleasure.
"That Fabric is constantly changing, only fate makes it sealed. I denounce your demand to bless my son. He shall be a pioneer of his own destiny, not some black hearted fox demon." Clovis declared his voice full of a powerful emotion that no one could fathom. He was a father… he always had been and his children would know right from wrong.
"And you will stop me? It seems it's time your cloth is cut short. You dare to anger a Goddess mere mortal scum." Fate raised her hands and drew the light from the depths of space. A ball of particles and glowing magic swirled and danced between her palms creating a glowing orb. It grew larger and brighter between her palms. As it did Clovis couldn't hear the yelling as the Goddess's power froze every mortal in place so no one could interfere.
Time slowed down as the Raven took three steps to intercept the ball as it flew from Lady Fate's palm, but she was too late. She would never stop the light before it stopped Clovis's heart.
A flash of golden light, the sound of air splitting, the deep clash of magics and… silence.
