"I did not say thrashing." Raina tried to deny, her voice adorably pouty. Kyera chuckled at her little girls tone. She had thought she wouldn't hear it again.
"Of course not, Princess." Kyera purred to sooth the child.
"Well, it looks like your pixie friend caught up." Kyera pointed to the blur of light. The tiny woman fluttered her wings hard so she could land on Kendrick's shoulder and beat him with her little fists. Kendrick let his deep black aura envelop the fairy so she was punching against the wall of energy, looking thoroughly unimpressed. Perhaps, he looked a touch annoyed as well, Kyera couldn't help but chuckle herself.
"Let my Big Missy go you brute!" The fairy cried and continued, now using her magic wich was just scattering like diamond dust against Kendrick's magic. His dark chuckle froze the fairy in her tracks.
"For one so tiny, you seem to have eaten the guts of a goddess." He chided her with amusement. "Your Big Missy is my niece." His words stopped the fairy in her tracks as she looked at the magic she was surrounded in realization dawned. Her eyes flicked over to Kyera and the single purple stone set into his earlobe.
"OH Goodness… your… I'm so sorry, My Lord. Please don't bar me from Moria." The fairy begged and Kyera chuckled.
"Dear, you were protecting his niece. It's fine." Kyera soothed her and the black aura fell from around her now that he was sure she wouldn't attack him again.
"Your safe, big missy… I'm glad your safe." The pixie purred and Raina smiled.
"Did you come all the way here to rescue me?" Raina asked curiously and the little pixie nodded.
"I was going to Fey Step you back home and let your Mommy and Daddy destroy the scum!" The Fae replied raising one little fist in the air enthusiastically. All three royals chuckled at her antics.
"Can you Fey Step the three of us home?" Kyera asked raising an eyebrow. The fairy nodded, eager to be of use. This was the second time she crossed the Shadow Royals. If this was going to become a habit; she could use some positive credit.
"Of course I can." The fairy began walking on the air and the two adults followed, the world around them folding and changing as they walked through a world between worlds.
"Raina, close your eyes." Kendrick whispered to her as the world shift sped up, his energy and Kyera's making the fairy's powers unstable. Raina did as she was told, and Kyera settled her hand on her brothers and their magic passed in a cycle between them, stopping it from causing trouble.
"Thank you." The fairy was grateful, her little face was pouring sweat and pale. No one had expected their magic to interfere with the fairy's control.
They stepped out of the realm and into the cool, swirling winds of the Dancing Wind's palace courtyard. Kyera took a deep breath, the air refreshing. "Thank you, for coming back." Kyera turned to look at her brother, only for a moment before he let Raina down. The child saw her father and ran, jumping into his arms.
Clovis knelt the instant he saw his daughter and caught her, one hand behind her head the other around her waist. Everyone was gathered, and Kyera could feel Kendrick was nervous. This was a gathering of people he had never met, all of whom were unaware of who he was. Honestly, he looked at Ky, he knew no one knew who she was and as her brother… he would blend in too.
"What of the other children?" Kyera asked, directing her question to Empress Vivian who was drying her own eyes. It seemed everyone was here. Alexi, Bastil, the Emperor, Mordrin and Mordakai… and the Frost Royals who were eyeing the boy next to her critically. She thought she saw the flash of recognition and wariness to the man beside Kyera.
"They are fine. Raina was the only one taken." Empress Vivan replied rushing over to hug Kyera. "Thank you for rescuing her. Mordrin was able to kill the one after Vella and the baby."
