Chapter 537 - Misspoken

The dragons waiting in the courtyard were not the dragons she expected. The elegant Frost dragon Kan had left on was joined two next to him both brilliant pearl white in color. The larger one was tinged more blues and golds while his partner was purples and pinks. Each carried a saddle and rider that made Kyera giddy with laughter.

"Raina, meet Natasha and Lywryn, the youngest Winter Moon couple." Kyera introduced the child to the two dragons. Natasha lowered her head to be about level with Raina, but several feet away.

"Nice to meet you." Raina replied a little nervously. Kyera couldn't really blame her, after all the creatures here were so much smaller than the dragons. Beautiful and majestic but feared was the curse of the dragons.

"Honored to meet the daughter of Storm Queen Kyera." Natasha's voice was like a warm purr that swirled around her. Raina couldn't help but smile at the sensation of warmth and respect. She was a little confused though and looked up at Kyera.

"The Dragons that I ride are called The Storm Twins and sense they command the storms, I am the Storm Queen." Kyera explained with a soft smile. The child was taking this better than she expected.

"I was wondering who that is." Raina replied as she pointed at the woman sliding off the back of the Dragon. Kyera walked over to offer her cousin a hand and ended up in a hug.

"Myra, I didn't expect to see you here." Kyera greeted as they kissed cheeks and broke up. "I take it your husband is on Lywyn?" Kyera asked before she was picked up and spun around from behind.

"Not quite, Princess." Sansor chuckled before setting her down next to his sister. Kyera chuckled as she got her footing back and looked at little Raina. The child looked reserved and a little shy around these strangers but offered a smile. Her nerves were nothing an outsider would notice.

"Well, Sansor, Myra I have someone I want you to meet. This is Princess Raina of the Dancing Winds, My daughter." Kyera introduced as she put a hand on Raina's shoulder. The child curtsied but the motion was very minimal and military. Grandfather Mordakai's teaching seemed to include greeting royals.

"It is a pleasure to meet you." Raina replied dutifully and Sansor chuckled causing Raina's expression to visibly darken. Myra hit him on the arm rather hard, earning a "OW" in protest.

"What?" He demanded, looking as though he had wronged him.

"She thinks your laughing at her." Myra replied reproachfully before turning to curtsey to Raina. "I am Lady Myra, Grand Daughter of the Frost Land Matriarch. Cousin of your mother." She introduced herself kindly. Raina nodded in acknowledgment. She liked this woman, a cousin of Mommy's.

"I am not laughing at her. I find her adorable." Sansor replied, grumbling as he lowered down to Raina's height on one knee. "I am Sir Sansor of the Blistering Winds Knights, Cousin of your Mother." He introduced and Raina nodded, though perhaps not as willingly as she had to Myra.

"Pleased to meet you both, as well as your lovely steads." Raina finally decided to use the lines from the fairy tale. No one had prepared her to greet dignitaries on dragons. She thought this was quite the oversized and would need to be dealt with. After all, what if it was a pegasus or a unicorn next time? She would not be caught unprepared.

"And thank you for your welcome, child. Kyera we brought you the chest. We noticed it was still at the place behind a guard tower a little while after you left." Myra explained as Natasha set the chest down at Kyera's feet. Kyera opened it and verified her pelts were there, as was all the meat. She let out a relieved sigh as she closed the lid.

"Good. Sans do you think you and Myra could help me cook?" Kyera asked hopefully. She couldn't do all this meat on her own. There was so much that she would need at least 6 recipes one for each animal breed she killed. That forest was known for its diversity if you knew where to look.

"Certainly." Myra looped her arm with her brother before he could reply. He shot her a look and then sighed realizing it was no use.

"Mommy, can I help too?" Raina asked and Kyera smiled. She took Raina's hand and gave it a light squeeze.

"I wouldn't have it any other way. It's still early. Why don't we ask the servants to bring us some rabbit and we will make dinner while we are at it?" Kyera offered honestly happy for the company. Raina nodded enthusiastically.

"Are we going to make Far un shy za?" She asked and the two royals paused as they translated the words in their head. Myra's cheeks turned pink and Sansor stifled a laugh as Kyera bit her lip for a second.

"You mean Furoon Shya, Raina dear." Kyera corrected her gently. She was not about to explain what the child had just said to her. Not till she was Much older.

"OH, Sorry Mommy." Raina replied rather embarrassed of herself.

"It is fine. Humans always struggle trying to learn forest speech. Even some shifters struggle." Sansor soothed as Kyera led the way up the path, Raina's hand still in hers.
