Chapter 509 - Snubbing Ember

The storm twins watched curiously as the two women walked closer to them. Ember fanned his wings, curving them so they created a partial wall between Ivory and Kyera, the sunlight filtering through the deep gray wings casting a translucent shadow. Kyera reached for Lalia's hand with a gentle smile. Lalia took it and stepped into the circle of the wings, looking up at the way they peaked over her head by a good six feet. Melania stepped forward as well, the warmth of previous breaths still captured by the wings and swirling around them.

"Stom Twins, Ember and Ivory, these two ladies are my sisters, Princess Lalia and Princess Melania." Kyera explained and the two dragons looked at eachother then looked to the girls standing before them. Her introduction seemed to spark some deeper thought as the dragon's lowered into more comfortable position.

"The Master's Sister in laws? I believe the true sister is Vella… Am I correct, Mistress Kyera?" Ember asked lowering his head to puff clean, warm air over the ladies. He was slightly concerned any of them would catch sick. Obviously if Kyera was introducing them, they had a purpose in her life. This was new, neither of them had seen their lady become close to so many mortals as she was now. It was curious to them, like a Owl nesting with Eagles and they wanted to see more.

"Master?" Melania asked raising an eyebrow, only part of that sentence had computed in her head. She was still getting past the sheer size of Ivory as the dragon crouched down and looked closer at the humans. It was a little unnerving to see how the dragons seemed to look at them. Lalia shifted a little nervously but the kindness in Ivory's eyes relaxed some of it away.

"Yes, Dragon's often call their chosen rider Mother, or Mistress in a female sense and their husbands or lovers are Masters. Kyera must be their Mistress wich makes Clovis their Master." Kan offered as he came to a slow jog up to the group. "My Lady Kyera, Please forgive me for breaking my orders but it was getting dark and I was worried you may now make it back in time." Kan explained as he swept a low bow. There was a look of disapproval on Kyera's face as she looked over his expression. There was not a sense of contriteness on his face. They were words of apology but not the expression, it didn't reach his eyes. There was no sincerity there.

"We would have been back early but a Ursa Superior and her cub got involved in the hunt." Kyera replied motioning to Feya who was watching from the side of the wolves. Kan raised a brow slowly as he tried to process that. His eyes trailed over her from head to toe looking for any sort of damage. All he could sense was her exhaustion. She raised her arms and slowly spun so he could see there was no wounds.

"We figured something was wrong when the two wolves Feya had ridden out on came back alone. Sky Rulers… It is a pleasure to see you again." Kan greeted the dragons then swept a bow as Kyera nodded and turned back to Melania.

"Pleasure to meet you both, Melania and Lalia. Apologies but we do not use the titles of any beside our Matriarch and our Mistress." Ivory explained calmly, there was a sense of quiet in her voice, a gentle sound of warning. Kyera nodded looking up at Ivory with a bit of a sneaky smirk, even though the girls couldn't hear the hint in the dragon's voice, but Kyera could.

"I see, The Pleasure is ours, Storm Twins." Melania spoke first, and offered a slight curtsy. She was pretty lost as to how to respond to them otherwise.

"Of course young ones, your kind are very curious. We like to learn more, when Kyera permits it." Ivory replied with a soft smile in her bright, intelligent eyes. Ember however was focused on a group further away from them.

"You there, Girl, your shivering over there. Do you need an invitation or will you go ahead and join us already?" Ember called and Freya jumped in surprise. Her eyes flicked over and she pretended not to hear. She turned away raising her eyes up to avoid Ember.
