Chapter 473 - Unexpected Protection

"Send for the royal. Doctor." Empress Vivian ordered as Grace, the white tiger walked closer to Kyera. Grace stopped and tilted her head huffing softly but Ryo instantly got between them. A blur of orange, and a orange tiger came to stand between her and Kyera, a deep growl in its voice.

Kyera was shocked to see the large tiger, his back to her but his bared teeth and posture making it clear she wasn't allowed any closer. Clovis seemed to understand the meaning behind all this as he looked at the Empress.

"Please have Grace wait outside. My wife is in a delicate state and if she makes her uneasy I think it best she not be present." Clovis spoke clearly as she helped Kyera sit back on the chair. The Bright green eyed Tiger sat down at Kyera's side glaring at the room around them.

This tiger wasn't like the others that often traveled with her. There was a sense of power and the vague scent of death seemed to waft around him. Though he did not get too close to Kyera, it was clear he was setting himself as a buffer between her and the white tiger. He looked every inch like a warrior protecting his charge.

"Kan step aside." Grace Growled in forest speech.

"Not a chance, Akira. Your presence alone could harm Kyera in her current state." He reminded her in the same language.

"So could yours." Grace reminded him with a glare.

"Yes, but she knows one thing about me she doesn't about you. I would never harm her child." he growled back. Kyera nodded honestly being the only one in the room that could understand them, but the uneasy tension in her stomach was enough to distract her. She winced again and Grace looked up. Seeing the look on her daughter's face, realization dawned in Grace's eyes. She turned, with a bit of effort and dashed out of the room before the Empress Vivan could say a single word.

After several moments and deep breaths, the tiger came to rest by her feet, laying down in a rather lazy cat like way. That aura was still there, but it was directed away from the girl and her husband.

"Surprised to see you here, Kan." Kyera whispered and the tiger glanced over his shoulder as if asking if she preferred he left. There was a certain lazy quality to it that was completely something else. She didn't say anything and he realized that was her way of allowing him to stay.

"Are you alright? Do you want me to send for Cora?" Clovis asked, gently pushing her hair out of her face. Kyera nodded.

"Its just… I think the cub is uneasy. Please send for Cora." Kyera agreed a bit more concerned than she was trying to let on. Her hand gently caressed the baby bump and Clovis nodded.

"You there, upstairs in our room, there should be a woman with long hair and bright Purple eyes. She answers to Lady Cora. Tell her there is a problem with the lady princess." Clovis ordered, and the man looked at Alexi who nodded instantly, shooing the man away up stairs.

"Has this happened before during the pregnancy?" Lalia asked as she brought a glass of cool water and handed it to Kyera. Kyera shook her head as she took a sip of the water.

"Hmm Perhaps too much stress. I met Feya and Kira on the way here. Were they trying to stir up trouble?" Empress Vivian asked as she walked closer. Kan growled softly in warning and his tail flicked back and forth a few times. Kyera looked at him in slight surprise and confusion.

"Let her pass." She whispered in tiger speech. He looked back at her, then nodded slowly. The Empress Vivian walked around the tiger with a decent birth, before settling down beside her.

"Feya and Kira were less than welcoming." Alexi replied trying to be as diplomatic as he could without lying. His wife shot him a look and he sighed deeply. "To be honest, that's a understatement."

"Quite an understatement." Lailia replied trying to bite her tongue from saying more. She could almost taste the metallic flavor of blood on her tongue.

"Oh really?" The Empress asked her voice rather cold as she looked at ALexi's wife. She knew the girl had a hard time keeping her thoughts and the truth from being heard and yet she was trying quite hard so it seemed.

"Well if you really must know they were pressing us to send Kyera away alone. They had the audacity to tell us issue veiled threats because we allowed them to stay in our home. Apparently because the palace belongs to the royals we don't have a right to have visitors unless they approve." Lalia replied, honestly tired of trying to keep a civil tongue. Kyera was starting to sweat a bit, and that was also leading to the tension building and breaking Lalia's self control.
