The moment the words left Kyera's mouth she regretted them. Now he knew Moon could speak and her heart was racing. This could blow EVERYTHING. The look on his face however wasn't what she was expecting.
Clovis started chuckling and Kyera felt relieved for a moment… untill that chuckle turned to a laugh that continued for several rather deep breaths. 'Oh Shadows above I broke the fourth Prince's mind…' she panicked internally. He reached out and pet her head his eyes dancing with amusement.
"So you finally trust me enough to speak to me? I have to admit I didn't expect that to be the first thing you said to me." Clovis's statement shocked her. He knew… how did he know? Did she sleep talk… 'oh god what did I say?' subconsciously her eyes widened with worry.
"Easy now, Moon, Easy. You spoke to my child, remember?" Clovis reminded her gently, raising a teasing eyebrow. "as good as she is at keeping secrets, there are some things she tells her Daddy." Clovis explained petting between her eyes in that slow soothing way. Moon couldn't help but shake her head.
Though she felt silly for freaking out, she was glad he already knew. That did give her a sense of annoyance. So many things would have been easier if she could just tell him what she is thinking. "Why didn't you tell me you knew I could talk?" Moon asked her voice was level but her expression was a bit pouty from a outsider looking in perspective.
"Because I figured you would talk to me when you felt you were ready. It isn't nice to push a shy woman to talk." he replied and just like that her annoyance disappeared. Moon couldn't help but wonder who coated his tongue with silver?
"Thank you… I think." Moon chuckled feeling like part of the weight was off her chest. "I hope everything she told you was good."
He laughed "Yeah, it's more like singing your praises. She thinks your the most amazing tigress in the history of existence." Clovis replied chuckling as he laid back on the grass, ignoring the fishy smell near by. Moon laid down by his side.
She couldn't help but be embarrassed. It was no secret that the child thought highly of her. Raina made it extremely clear, but at the same time to know she was talking like that to others made Moon's shy heart blush.
"Well, I guess it's time you and I need to sit down and talk. First off where have you been? I was a little worried." Clovis pointed out, granted his tone didn't sound demanding. If anyone else had asked she would probably have felt insulted. She answers to no man, but his concern and curiosity softened the question. Once again she wondered who silvered his tongue or of it was born like that.
"I… my mate passed. We were separated rather brutally when I was brought here." Moon explained looking away, the depth of pain to her eyes was… mortifying.
"I see. I am sorry I had heard something about it, but I wanted to hear if from you. Others sometimes misunderstand our true feelings." Clovis explained as he rolled up on his side to run a hand down her spine, petting her soothingly. Moon couldn't help but purr softly, completely confused by the catlike instincts despite being such dignified creatures.
"It… it was just hard to hear. When you think of the last moments with a loved one you want to remember a last hug or embrace. A moment of safety and being loved. Instead, my last moment with him was with me bleeding in a net, terrified I wouldn't live till morning and having to seem brave so he would take the boy and run." Moon replied as she stared at the water in the stream. She hadn't intended to say all this. The words had just flowed out after she opened the dam.
"I see. I didn't realize you had such a difficult time when you were captured." Clovis replied. Moon gauged his heartbeat, breathing, and tone yet none of them even hinted at dishonesty. He truly didn't know what being captured was like. "What… how did it happen?"
