Chapter 152 - Aggie Part 2

"I felt something while I was there. A old Magic. Much older than I have ever came into contact before. Perhaps it is what has caused trouble for the Lady?" Aggie asked as she pulled several bags out and set them on the table. Kyera recognized them as talismans, very similar to the crest Kyera wore on her own ear. The stones that traditionally protected or connected one with the power of the Gods.

"I felt it too when I first arrived, but I can't locate the source. I know it can't touch me and I think it is putting more effort into hiding." Kyera explained shaking her head, knowing they had both sensed it made her feel even more strongly that something was wrong in the palace that they had not expected to begin with. Such strong magic was forbidden, no one had used such dark methods in so many years, Kyera had thought it had died out.

"If you face someone who uses those magics, Kyera, you really must be more careful." Aggie reminded her as she opened a few different bags and removed components, stones silver settings and leather cord. Kyera sighed a bit and sat down, she began running her hands over the stones testing their strength and power. It was clear she would need one that hummed under her hand. The ones that barely vibrated would never be able to truly combat the magic they were suspecting to be the culprit of her condition.

A light golden stone hummed and danced beneath Kyera's palm and she focused more energy into it feeling its reactions to her. Warm and filled with the powers of protection that she was looking for. No matter how much focus Kyera to attack it with, it created a field that protected it from it and drew in the positive energy she charged it with. As this process continued there was no sign of damage on the stone. Aggie nodded and handed her a silver setting. Kyera set about binding the stone to the simple silver medallion. Twirls of silver and pale golden metal woven together made a rather beautiful pattern across the setting. Kyera fused the stone to the setting and began adding a woven band to either side. Soon the bracelet was a perfect talisman to assist in the Empress's healing.

"Exquisit as all your pieces, Kyera." Aggie complimented but Kyera sighed softly.

"If it wasn't for your metal work this never would have worked. Thank you Aggie, Hopefully our kingdom will have a Empress for a long time forward." Kyera added standing up and placing the bracelet into a soft squirrel skin bag. Aggie sighed as she hugged Kyera once again.

"Don't let that palace make you doubt yourself, Princessa." Aggie whispered softly shaking her head at the expression and emotions she read. There was only so much uncertainty one woman could take.

"I try not to, Old One. Walk in the shadows and be safe." Kyera replied as she set the gold on the counter. Aggie nodded.

"Let your faith be cradled by the shadows, dear girl." she replied as the pair parted ways. Kyera went back to the circle where she had agreed to meet the prince.

As she had expected, she had completed her errands first. The sky was slowly getting dark, but she chose not to head back alone. Kyera settled down and began playing her beautiful Zither. Her voice raised and began singing gently as she played. Some of the villagers began paying her attention as she did so. Her music much more moving than was traditionally played for free in the streets.

She was so enthralled as she played she hardly noticed as the one she was waiting for joined her quiet, adoring fans. Even as the candles of the street were lit and the daylight traders gave way to the evening peddlers.
