I saw a young lady???? Don't ask why I was so surprised? I was expecting it to be an experience old man/woman. But look what I get, what's with my luck. Anyway let's see what advice she has. She looked up from the documents she had on the table and told me to sit on the chair in the office with a professional smile on her face. It was so gentle and welcoming I forgot my doubts from a minute ago. I went ahead with what she was telling me to do, until she asked why I came to meet her. From the brief introduction we had, I learnt her name was Jane and I was comfortable talking to her. I was happy because we both are J's so I decided to tell her what I went through but kept it as brief as I didn't want to waste her time.
After I told her about my life, she looked like she was seriously thinking about it, but I was surprised with what she told me next. "Give up racing." She said. I blanked out for a second because that was one of the least things I expected when I came to here. "You must be surprised, right?" she said with a slight smile. 'The heck I was so surprised.' I came back to my senses right then. "Racing is all you've got, I understand that but it was also your doom..." I didn't hear what Jane said next as the words she had said bashed my heart, and my mind was in turmoil. "I am not really encouraging you to stop, just take a break. Learn other things apart from racing. Get to know some friends, find other hobbies and other things you can do."
I came back to my senses when she said those word. I weakly got up from the chair to leave. "Okay I will try and see how it goes." I told her. "Take it easy." She told me as I left the room but as soon as I closed the door. I fell on my knees as I kept hearing the same words, "give up racing." In my mind. I can't show any weakness right now, I have decided to try again at my life so I can't be this weak. I got up to leave the building otherwise I don't know what else I am going to hear from here.
As I was just about to enter my car, I hear someone call me, "Yo! Jay?" I knew who it was without needing to turn back. It was one of my previous so called "friends". I turned back and said, 'long time no see, Philip." I said sarcastically. I truly don't like this gut at all. He is rude, arrogant and doesn't care about other's feelings. "What are you doing here?" he had a smug look as he asked. "None of your business." I replied. "No need to be that cold." I didn't bother wasting my time talking with him and entered my car, driving off to my apartment.
During the drive, I was planning on how I am going to live my life again.
