Des chuckled and his black eyes shimmered in the hallway, "Interested in my power eh? Well, I can transform into any living creature that I had eaten and killed throughout my life. Oh, I can't use any magic at all by the way."
Scarlet raised an eyebrow in surprise, "What do you mean?"
Des transformed into a small black fairy, "This is my original form. While you may think that fairies have a ton of magic and what-not, mine has been sealed. My magic is with my 'sister'."
Scarlet asked, "You have a sister?"
Des flew rapidly creating an illusion where Scarlet could see two of him. Des said, "There is a pair of earrings, yes? I can tell that your earring only holds half of Binglong's power. Well, think of everything here as being split in half with the other earring being a near-perfect mirror. So, I call the other-me my sister."
Scarlet held out her palm for Des to land on, "So your sister has the actual magic but can't transform?"
Des smiled, "Yep! At least you aren't stupid."
After a few turns around the dimly-lit hallways, Scarlet asked, "So once I ask my father for his earring, I can help you combine to your whole self?"
Des stopped grinning and said, "Unfortunately, it takes a lot of magic to get me to recombine with my sister. Magic not on this continent."
Scarlet's curiosity was piqued, "Then where else? There is only Trumoris, as far as I know, there is no other place in the world."
Des asked, "Trumoris is an island yes? Oceans all around?"
Scarlet couldn't see the point Des was trying to make, "Yeah, and boats that we send out from one end just circle around to the other end. There is basically no other land in those oceans save for some extremely small, insignificant islands."
Des sighed and said, "What if I told you, there is a gateway to another world right up in the sky? In particular, right in front of the full moon at its peak. People in that world are in an extremely dense mana environment and are powerful beyond belief. To be honest, even a simple farmer there would probably rival you with the earring and your current level of death magic. If you were in that world, your level would probably only be at the intermediate borrowing stage."
Scarlet was surprised but felt that it was off, "If any of them are so powerful, why haven't they appeared?"
Des shook his head, "I honestly have no idea. I have a guess but until we're outside I can't be sure. Anyways we are almost at the entrance."
