Chereads / The Unique Cultivation Of Ren / Chapter 9 - Tear, and red ball

Chapter 9 - Tear, and red ball

In the little rundown house that Ren lives in, Aunty Leah was making dinner while Ren was exploring in the cellar.

Smacking the dust and cobwebs away with a straw broom, Ren started to cough as some of the dust entered his lungs, "Ah, this place is so dusty and smelly, why hasn't Aunty Leah cleaned this place?"

Looking around the cellar, you could see the creaky old support beams on the ceiling, wooden support pillar in the center of the cellar, and a bunch of odds and ends.

"Just a bunch of useless junk"

Shaking his head, Ren started the process of cleaning out the cellar, sweeping, dusting, and piling the odds and ends into a corner to sort through everything.

Bzzt!

While cleaning, Ren heard a sound in one of the corners, but as that corner was too dark he couldn't see anything, even with the candle he was holding.

"Strange"

After muttering to himself, Ren started to move the odds and ends to a pile again as the same sound was heard.

Bzzt!

This time a blue flash was visible.

With extreme curiosity and caution, Ren started to approach the corner.

Zsst!

As he started to approach the corner, a blue flash appeared, but this one lasted longer and appeared to be a crack of sorts.

The crack lingered and started to expand.

Shatter!

With a sound akin to that of a china cabinet full of china falling over, the crack opened up into a 6ft long 3ft wide gash in space.

In this gash, or spacial tear, one could see a little blue planet floating in the void.

"Is this a tear in space?"

Feeling no danger, Ren approached the tear brimming with curiosity, and stretched out his hand to touch it.

ZAP!

Flying backwards into the opposite wall, Ren slouched onto the ground as he shook his head trying to clear his darkening vision.

He slowly stood up.

Upstairs, after sensing a change in the surroundings and hearing a thud in the cellar, Aunty Leah panicked. Rushing to the entrance of the cellar, she went to open the entrance, when she tried to open the entrance she encountered a barrier that knocked her backwards.

Building up her qi, Aunty Leah sent a fist towards the barrier and only caused a couple ripples, "Young master!"

Realizing she couldn't break through, Aunty Leah started to pound on the barrier and scream for Ren hoping he would hear her.

Hearing no response she realized that she couldn't get through with strength or yelling, 'I used 80% of my power and merely caused ripples, I can't use anymore, even if I can take it down the pressure would kill young master, if anything happens to him'

In this situation all she could do was sit outside the entrance and hope Ren could come out when the barrier fades.

She didn't want to think of the worst case scenario.

Back in the cellar, Ren once again approached the tear, except this time he had no intention to try to touch it again.

In the void the little blue planet shook as a red dot appeared on it's surface with red lines spreading outwards, with a bang, the world exploded.

Rocks and debris where sent in all directions as a shock-wave chased behind, shattering the nearby moon.

Where the world was, a hole appeared in the void as it seemed that the destruction of the world started the collapse of space.

Seeing all of this, Ren trembled in fear, thanking the gods that he wasn't on that world.

He long realized that this wasn't an illusion.

Amidst all the destruction a red speck of light appeared zooming towards Ren.

Before Ren could even react, the red speck grew into the size of an adult fist with a flaming red aura enveloping it, and smacked him in the face making him lose consciousness.

BANG!

Ren collapsed onto the ground, and as he fell his left hand landed directly onto a very sharp iron rod sticking out of the floor. This caused his face to twist in pain, but he didn't wake up, he was hit too hard.

As blood started to pool out of his hand, the red ball that just came out of the tear rolled in his direction right into his blood.

Ssst!

At this moment the tear closed with a blinding flash of blue light.

Next, a blinding red light flashed in the room as the red ball rolled into Ren's blood.

The ball started to dissolve as it entered Ren's wounded left hand, causing his hand to lift from the iron rod and fall next to it, all the blood that pooled around his hand was then absorbed back into the wound with the red ball as the wound closed.

The barrier faded at this moment.

Pa! Pa! Pa!

The sound of Aunty Leah's footfalls resonated throughout the cellar as she ran to Ren's side, with her hair disheveled, and a stressed and worried expression on her face.

Before she could reach his side, a light red glow enveloped his body, then quickly vanished, leaving a barely visible pattern of scales on his skin, as they too, quickly vanished.

After this, three months passed..
